The people here are amazing and wonderful. I went in for an electronic piano. They didn't have anything in my price range, but after telling them what my ex did to my piano they had great compassion and helped me find one I could afford even though I was not purchasing from them. I was able to go back and buy a stand for the piano. I will return here for any musical instrument needed. read more

Bought a malfunctioning bass guitar from here-- then made the mistake of bringing it back to them to fix it (payed for service but problem was unsolved). Then they had the audacity to offer to buy the gear back, for a quarter of the price I paid them originally. Customer service is non-existent and the store in general is unwelcoming. By the time you're done with them you'll be just as broke as the gear they sell! Save yourself some time and hit up a guitar center. read more

There is no greater joy than receiving a 6 piece drum kit COMPLETELY DISASSEMBLED -100% stripped bare. All the hardware, lugs and tension rods, plastic pieces within the lugs and receiver nuts came in a separate plastic bag. When I called the shop and asked if this was standard procedure for them they said "yes.". But, when I called DW, they said that that was absolutely the most ludicrous thing they've ever heard of and they couldn't imagine sending out a kit like that. I have received many a drum kits in the mail and none ever came with any of the lugs stripped from the shells -And most of them came in two boxes. One would have thought the $250 dollars I gave them for shipping would have been enough to warrant some convenience for the buyer, but whatever... Also received no response to my messages on Reverb after my purchase expressing some concerns I had with shipping in general I gave them a three star rating on reverb and they gave me a three star back -Only I had a reason to and they did not. So, yeah... Whatever guys!! Hope your reputation is worth the extra thirty dollars you could've spent to send me the kit properly! Thanks! read more

I had one of the worst I've ever had buying instruments. First off, the would not budge a penny on sale price. Then they want to offer 20-50% trade value. Come on! I traded a $500 guitar (used price) in for a $400 guitar, isn't enough? Apparently not, they want another $150. So basically I gave them $650 for a $400 guitar! Pay cash if you can, they won't give you what your trade is worth. I asked if they have a return policy....nope. What? Any place you buy a guitar should have a return policy. Heck even pawn shops have a return policy! Finally I asked about a used amp cover. They actually wanted more for it than I can get a brand new one shipped to my door. Seriously?! If I didn't REALLY want the guitar I bought, I would have walked out several times. I've had much better experiences with Guitar Centers, Larsens, Honest Ron's, Lone Wolf Guitars, and pretty much every pawn shop in town. Now they will probably post a rebuttal about their version of how this sale went. My review is not inaccurate or misleading as they will claim. This is my honest review and I will never recommend this place! I bought there because they were the only local store that had exactly what I was looking for. read more

Nice, locally-owned store with extremely reasonable prices on their gear and they have a really diverse selection of gear. It is nothing like a big box store, which is great for the community that they serve. The owner, whom I've spoke with only briefly back when they first opened their doors, is really pleasant, personable and super professional. Even though I've only purchased one instrument from them (a Martin acoustic in 2015) I've always been treated well and the guys in the shop have no problem with a customer/potential customer spending some time browsing through the inventory. A great place for guitarists and there are even some really cool synth gems hidden in there from time to time. Great atmosphere and great location with zero high pressure sales guys = win/win! read more

They are very serious about their 3 day return policy. i got a pedal from them through reverb and didn't try it for a week. plugged it in, works great as a brick. also missing part of the output jack. notified them that night. but it was after the 3 days. they said that is the risk in buying used. they wouldn't accept a return because it was too late, anyways, what would they do with a broken pedal? they also argued with me about the missing jack, like i would go out of my way to make up sh¡t. i said i was going to tell everyone i could in every forum or group not to buy from them. he said, go ahead, he doesn't want to deal with people who use gear forums anyways, he said they aren't music makers, just complainers and people on a search for the holy grail of tone but never make music. he said he would rather deal with real musicians. so depending on if you qualify as a musician in gear exchange's eyes, you may want to skip from buying from them in the first place. they don't want to deal with you. and remember, you risk getting sold junk so if you are willing to bet that when they say that it works, that is actually does, that you double check the minute the mailman drops it off. you might say, "3 day rule, rules are rules, you have nothing to complain about" i don't discount that, on the other hand, i honestly didn't try it out for only a few days later. it tells you loads about these guys character. i'm just so glad it wasn't something expensive. and shout out to reverb.com, they gave me some reverb bucks. i would keep this in mind before you make any online purchases with the busted gear exchange. cuz anyways, what would they want broken junk back for? read more

@gearexchangeokc just let 5k cash walk out the door because of their shitty attitudes. I'd rate less if I could. Literally sold this guy deal after deal after deal and was told I could buy back @ 15% over what I sold it to him. Now wants to charge retail as new for used gear. + $400 markup over on a used amp that's literally selling new a mile away for $400 less. NEW! SMH. Don't waste your time folks. Ownership is absolutely terrible. The other guys in the shop seem friendly, albeit miserable to be there. read more

This place is a hidden gem. My guitars have never played this well since I've owned them. Jim is the best at setting up your guitar. This is also a great store to trade and buy gear. They have everything from PA systems to guitars. Very good people. They're very reasonable on prices too. read more

I have to say that I was disappointed, but maybe the fault lies with me. I'm in a wheelchair and when I went in to buy a Les Paul that they had for sale, I couldn't look at any of the other guitars because the floor was so cluttered that I couldn't get around. The place was a horrible, disorganized mess. The gentleman that helped me was friendly and courteous for the amount of time it took him to grab my payment method, but that was the extent of it. They sold me a Partscaster with a painted over neck pocket crack through a listing on Reverb.com, claiming it to be a "Fender Telecaster Made in Mexico 2015" guitar in "Very Good" condition. The poorly repaired crack, a cosmetic defect was not disclosed in the ad. To make a long story shorter we went back and forth several times, I sent them pics and even pointed out in their listing where the discrepancies were visible upon close examination of the photos. That said, the guitar is actually pretty good. I like it, so even though they said they would take it back I prefer to keep it but since it was misrepresented in the Reverb ad I overpaid and I feel that they should give me some money back, a partial refund. They would not even discuss that with me or even acknowledge that there were any issues with the guitar at all. Still, I decided to keep it not wanting to deal with the hassle of packing and shipping and then having to shop for another guitar. These guys claim to be experts but how they could have missed the obvious issues with this guitar is beyond me. So, walk-in transactions at their store where you can examine the merchandise might be OK but no way would I recommend buying anything from them online. read more
