A few days ago, I saw a pair of white pants I liked in the window display and decided to stop in. When I asked if they had the pants in a "Large" size, the older woman working at the time (who may be the owner) looked at me and my body and very sharply (and rudely) said that this store is a boutique. She explained that if their store carried sizes larger than a size 10, it would no longer be considered a boutique. If the goal of this store is to leave potential customers feeling humiliated and shamed for their bodies, then I'd say they're doing a great job. Please shop at any of the other, actually inclusive, boutiques in Cocoa Village - in the case of our little town, one bad apple does not actually spoil the bunch. (And a quick side note: when my daughter later left a review on my behalf, it was removed for not being a "firsthand experience." The people there - staff and customers alike - were so kind. The man in front of me even paid for my items because he saw the LSAT study book I found and wished me good luck! This store does have a card minimum of $10 to keep in mind when you're browsing. There were a few shoppers that were disappointed when they reached the front of the line with a $3 purchase and no cash. The staff also said they prefer not to just round these small purchases up, even under the guise of a donation. The areas that stuck out the most were the many shoe racks and the children's section. There was also specific shelves for glassware, books, clothing, furniture, electronics, luggage, and miscellaneous. They have a great selection of vintage china, furniture, and other items, all beautifully arranged. Even though it's a thrift store, everything is so clean and well-organized--you can tell the owners put a lot of care and attention into maintaining the store. The prices are also very reasonable. I bought a lovely wooden side table to go next to my sofa--solid quality, no damage whatsoever. I also found a nearly new computer desk for my daughter, and the price was great. What truly warmed my heart was the atmosphere. The elegant lady who runs the shop has decorated the fitting room in such a cozy and tasteful way--it's even nicer than those in some big-name department stores! Her husband and their son (a kind young man) were also there, and he kindly helped load the furniture into my car. That thoughtful service meant a lot to me. Next time I shop here, I also plan to bring some gently used household items to donate. I sincerely hope more people will discover and support this wonderful local store.
