He came right on time, hung our picture window motorized blind (16' high) perfectly, and we were so pleased with the result we paid him more than he asked - this was a great service experience for us. They were…read morecontacted by our landlord to replace carpet with tile after two water pipes broke in the basement of the townhouse my girlfriend and I are living in. All communication was done through our landlord about when they would be there, etc and that was fine. They showed up and ripped up the carpet after we had moved some of the larger pieces of furniture and other items out of the way. It was then decided that all one type of tile was going be installed. Prior to this, half the basement was carpet and the other half was tile. This meant that they would have to break up the existing tile after the carpet was ripped up. Obviously there would be a large amount of dust that would be raised by breaking up tile. These guys never brought any plastic or tarps to cover our furniture or anything else. Nor did they ask if we wanted to move photos or other pieces of artwork from the walls to keep them from getting dust covered or damaged. Once they started putting down the new tile it seemed that most of the time they were supposed to be working it seemed like they were spending more time running their mouths. There were 3 guys at the house working and there were 2 days that they were here for over 12 hours and did not complete the entire basement. The basement is not that large as it is only a townhouse. I also noticed they were throwing the grout water into a snowbank that was in our front yard. Now that the snow has melted there is a long trail of dried grout that is in the yard and will have to be taken care of. I have posted a photo of this. Also, there were many grout spots on the walls that were not cleaned or taken care of prior to them leaving. I have also posted a photo of this. Finally, while they were installing the tile in the downstairs bathroom the toilet paper dispenser was knocked partially out of the wall. This photo is also posted. We did not find out about this damage until after the project was done. Common sense would think that if something got damaged or messed up in anyway you would tell the people. I understand with any construction job or repair work there are things that are going to happen. It would have been appreciated if our stuff and property would have been taken better care of. Honestly this was a poor experience all around and if my girlfriend or I would have hired them directly they probably wouldn't have been working for us past the first day.

At the appointed time, an unkempt, utterly disinterested individual sauntered into the house, BRIEFLY glanced at the carpet and said all HE could do would be to cut a piece out of the carpet. If this were so, why wasn't I TOLD that when I made the call to their office? I SHOULD have sent him away right then, but was still upset about the incident. This "expert" proceeded to cut a huge piece out of the carpet down to the subflooring, which took, MAYBE five minutes. What the Hell, I could have done THAT, myself. For this "professional service", I was immediately presented with a bill for $150. Adding insult to injury, after he left I found several small blood spots on the white vinyl closet door nest to the gaping chasm he'd just created in the floor. So, I wiped those off MYSELF, with a disinfectant wipe. God knows what Master dry would have charged me to completely destroy the closet. I don't know how these crooks sleep at night, taking advantage of people like that. You'd be better off getting some day laborers from in front of Home Depot. It'll be cheaper, and they'll actually DO the job. BOO BOO BOO!!!

Owner would get very aggressive with me any time I ask why things were being done the way they were doing them. They were supposed to come every day to do a moisture check but it was every other day. When we told them it was leaking, they said nothing they did caused the damage, and that now they need another $2000 to replace the water heater! We explained that we just paid them $5000 and the water heater was in great working condition before with NO leaks. SIDENOTE: if the water heater had been leaking, they would have have included it in the estimate while replacing the pipe! So, they are trying to get more money from us for a mistake one of their employees made. Very unsatisfied and upset about this transaction, will NOT be recommending them to anyone... We couldn't be happier. They did the work almost a year and a half ago and they job they did still holds up well. They painted, removed wallpaper, installed a half wall, removed a built in bookshelf, helped to make two bathrooms presentable by replacing toilets, sinks, fixtures, and just made the house nice again. Worth every penny. When I need more work done, I will be giving them a call.
