The company which had been servicing my pool on a weekly basis for years went through some personnel changes and my pool was not being cleaning weekly for several weeks. I got estimates from three companies and decided on Gecko Pool Service because John quotes the best price and the great reviews on Yelp. Following his recommendation, I had the pool drained by Richard Spencer of Pacific Aquaspaces. When the pool was fully drained, John from Gecko Service came by and hosed off the pool and started the refilling process. Within one of two hours after the pool was refilled and I notified him, John came to program and restart the pump, vacuum and skim the pool and treat the water. John is the highest level of professionalism and awesomeness. As a property manager, a clean pool is critical to guest satisfaction, so when we had VIP guests coming through that day and I saw the pool bottom full of sand AND when I called our regular pool guy and his voicemail said he was out of town the rest of the month, I totally panicked. John from Gecko Pool Service does an amazing job on our pool. We have a huge tree that constantly "sheds" leave. He balance the chlorine well, so the pool does not in any way smell bad. We have 5 dogs that needs to be placed in their rooms when he come. He works with our schedule, so the dogs are in their room settled when he comes. We ended up in a home with a pool and we were totally clueless on how to maintain the pool. The previous owner had been bombing the pool with chlorine and the pump was broken so the pool was in really bad shape. John came in and with the help of his excellent contacts changed out the pump, replaced the sand in the filter, replaced the main valve, replaced the pool light, as well as having to redo the electrical lines and breakers. I rarely give 5 stars but after talking to John he deserves it. My pool has a bad algae problem and John helped me diagnose what could be wrong. He went through the various possibilities until we narrowed it down to the filtration system. What thoroughly impressed me is that when I asked if he thought I could do it myself he said yes and that I could call him when doing it even if its Saturday or Sunday. He could have easily said no, and charged me $100 for the service but he didn't and even offered to help. I haven't tried this yet but just the fact that he would spend the time to help and also offer free consultation shows me that he's a reputable guy with great customer service.
