The new patient registration was surprisingly fast and painless. I did have to wait a short while, but that's to be expected from pretty much any doctor you see. When I was finally ushered into the exam room, I could feel my heart pounding and my pulse start racing. Of course it was just the nerves of being in the doctor's office - no one likes having to go to the doctor. Am I right? After only a few minutes in the exam room, I met Dr. Singh. Right away, I knew this would work out. She was very cheerful and down to earth. I could feel my anxiety going down and my pulse got back to normal. We chatted and I felt like I could talk to Dr. Singh like "one of the girls" rather than doctor/patient. What I like about her too is when she explains to you what's going on with your body, she really takes the time to explain it so that you, the patient, understands. She's able to be on your level. That should be what everyone wants from their doctor. The staff is nice and the facilities are clean. And while I think they're all great there, I do hope not to have to visit them very often. I'm sure my insurance company feels the same way.

Thankfully that side was still fine (out of pocket cost $416). Scheduled what I believed to be my yearly mammogram Feb 2026 but they apparentally wanted to bill this as a 3rd FOLLOW UP. This "follow up" however was for both sides and was no different than any other standard mammogram I have ever had except this one costs more than $500 out of pocket. Therefore, this yearly was not covered. So all told a suspicious finding that has now been checked 3 times cost me more than $1500 out of pocket. Lesson learned. Questions the number of endless billable follow ups, especially when they are the exact same as standard mammogram.

I went there for years not realizing that there are other options in the area to get my medical care. I have had experiences with several doctors there for over a period of years. Their medical care should be reported to the National Medical Review Board for minimal and haphazard medical care. You will be seen for exactly 10 minutes. The doctors will be brief in answering your questions, they will become curt and frustrated if you ask more than 5 questions. They do blood work, go over results, omitting info and if your medical issues are too detailed, you will be sent on your way. I have always left feeling ignored and disrespected, Their Endocrinologist on Union Ave is especially guilty of this. They will not allow you to change your PCP either! Out of sheer frustration I changed to another medical group. I am now receiving minimal one-hour visits with their PCP and Specialists all doctors take great care of you. They do not skimp or cut corners in their medical care, and I feel very well taken care of. Charles River Medical needs vast improvement in their care, their attitude, and their medical expertise.

I'm not going to lie - I was a skeptic, I thought it was bizarre that you would pay an annual fee for a doctor's services outside of your normal Insurance. I really was like is it really worth it ? BUT wow - I get it now. I signed up as a MDVIP patient and I've never had a physician like this. Dr. Hoffmann is so responsive and you feel like you're talking to a doctor you've had your whole life. He goes above and beyond for his patients- calling and checking in during the day or the evening when my husband was very sick at the start of covid. Knowing that he was a phone call away was extremely comforting during that time and I don't know how I could have gotten through that with just a regular doctor that is not as accessible. He thoroughly would listen to me and immediately take action if something was needed. For me, I have suffered with migraines and have not really had a physician take me seriously with that. Dr. Hoffmann has gone above and beyond to find a treatment plan that works best for me. His office staff is very friendly and also thorough as well. I called for an appt since one of my girl has been sick for a few days. With the cold weather her asthma has kicked in and I was able to get in later in the day. Calling and scheduling is always easy for making a regular physical, same day, or flu shot appointment. They have a web client portal so you can receive and send messages and notifications through it. Dr. Crawford takes her time and has gotten to know my daughter and over time has gained her trust. She always speaks the truth and doesn't sugar coat things but also talks about important items in a very gentle and compassionate way. The one think I have always hated is when a medical provider (nurse/doctor/LNP) tells my kids that "its not going to hurt". Don't lie to them or to me. If its going to hurt tell them why, where and how much and how to manage the pain and how long will it last. Doesn't everyone want to know the truth straight up? Well Dr. Crawford does and in such a polite, helpful, empathetic way with facts that make sense and are in common every day words. When we first started going my daughter would be hyperventilating, shaking, crying and some times ready to jumped off the table. She still gets nervous but has gotten so much better because of how she is treated and cared for. The staff is wonderful, billing goes well with the office and insurance and if you have ever had issues you can appreciate this. I would highly recommend the office and especially Dr. Crawford.
