The billing isn't exactly above board. I had a suspicious mammo on one side in Jan 2025. Came for follow up in Feb 2025 and that side was okay (out of pocket cost $625) but they said to do 2nd follow up again in August (6 months) just in case. Thankfully that side was still fine (out of pocket cost $416). Scheduled what I believed to be my yearly mammogram Feb 2026 but they apparentally wanted to bill this as a 3rd FOLLOW UP. This "follow up" however was for both sides and was no different than any other standard mammogram I have ever had except this one costs more than $500 out of pocket. Therefore, this yearly was not covered. So all told a suspicious finding that has now been checked 3 times cost me more than $1500 out of pocket. Lesson learned. Questions the number of endless billable follow ups, especially when they are the exact same as standard mammogram. read more

Now that Charles River Medical is in the news for harboring a rapist as one of their participating doctors, I would like to add my experiences. I went there for years not realizing that there are other options in the area to get my medical care. I have had experiences with several doctors there for over a period of years. Their medical care should be reported to the National Medical Review Board for minimal and haphazard medical care. You will be seen for exactly 10 minutes. The doctors will be brief in answering your questions, they will become curt and frustrated if you ask more than 5 questions. They do blood work, go over results, omitting info and if your medical issues are too detailed, you will be sent on your way. I have always left feeling ignored and disrespected, Their Endocrinologist on Union Ave is especially guilty of this. They will not allow you to change your PCP either! Out of sheer frustration I changed to another medical group. I am now receiving minimal one-hour visits with their PCP and Specialists all doctors take great care of you. They do not skimp or cut corners in their medical care, and I feel very well taken care of. Charles River Medical needs vast improvement in their care, their attitude, and their medical expertise. read more

RADIOLOGY DEPARTMENT - FRAMINGHAM MASS Mammogram and other test....Don't use this facility!!!!!! You will regret it!!!! I would not encourage anyone using the Radiology Services at this facility. They are horrible, they are extremely slow with results and if you or your loved ones needs services, I think they would rather have you just die and collect the insurance money. So I would say, DO NOT GO TO THE RADIOLOGY DEPARTMENT, for any services, or you will be really sorry and liable to have below average care. And women, do not get a mammogram there because you may be liable to die before they give you your results. read more

This facility is highly disorganized. I strongly advise you and your loved ones that if they need any type of testing lab work CAT scans or anything else to go to another facility. Out of all of the medical facilities I have been to this year during this pandemic this one was by far the worst and I do not say this lightly. Social distancing is a nonexistent term in this facility. They may play it up to be that way when you call in and speak to people but then actually showing up there is a totally different story. I am Disabled and I went in there today to have a CAT scan and I was one of the first people to show up basically to avoid exposure from other people. Upon arrival you were asked to call this number for pre-registration so you can have contactless registration and you don't have to handover any identification cards or anything like that. That seems to be the only thing they handle professionally. As we were waiting to be let in there was a huge number of people not 6 feet apart congregating in a huge cluster outside of the clinic. You would never see this at any other clinic I've been to because they're very strict on enforcing the social distancing or telling people to wait in their car even if it's for lab work. We were told by the lady on the phone to walked past the people and to come into the building where there are no separate entrances to the lab and to the area where you are to have a CAT scan. Now here is where it gets scary! Right before you get into the actual waiting room the area that separates you from the inside of the building when you first enter is a very tightly squeezed area there was a woman doing temperature scans but they were also about four other people in the small area about 2 inches away from me and my caregiver which made us very uncomfortable and we could not understand for the life of us why the hell they did this this way. Talk about a risk factor wouldn't gods green earth is the point of social distancing if you're in a tightly enclosed space with four people? When that was done they proceeded to let us in we refuse to sit on any of their furniture because we were already rattled enough. I told my caregiver to go outside back to their car and we would call them when my appointment was finished. A staff person lead me into an exam room before the CAT scan. They were not quite ready for me yet and as I was waiting in the room I then saw a cluster of patients that were congregating in the hallway so they do not even have the waiting room or any of this organized at all. I don't know where the heck somebody was in charge because I tried to get a hold of a supervisor and I could not get one. I also asked the technician if they could kindly wipe down the area in front of me to give me peace of mind and they just laughed at me and insisted they wipe everything down before patient comes in. Judging upon what I had just seen before coming into the establishment this did not make me feel any better. What is the big deal about for filling a patient's request to simply wipe down an area? Any other medical facility where I have asked them to do this they do it without hesitation and are happy to do it. It doesn't look like anybody here really cares about the patients protection or empathy. I strongly advise as I stated earlier to avoid going to this practice for your own safety. There needs to be professionalism especially in these crazy times were living in. This is a deadly disease and this is not to be taken lightly. And if the people working there lack compassion and people skills than they need to find a different job because this is clearly not how patients should be treated. read more

I see Dr. Bean at this facility and it is the best experience I've had with a doctor and doctor's office. The office staff is friendly, responsive and thorough. While Dr. Bean always runs on time (give or take maybe 10 minutes), they do have free Wi-Fi in the waiting room. Dr. Bean himself is awesome. He is very thorough, actually listens, is never condescending and is so funny. They have an urgent care center for the weekend on the same street which is pretty great as well. For people like me who hate using the phone, they have a web-based system that allows you to request referrals, prescriptions/refills, reminds you of appointments and shows you your test results. I'd highly recommend them! read more

I want to know why in Framingham there is no one who speaks Spanish or a translator on the phone. My husband does not speak English and I speak very little. To go to an appointment they demand that the patient have to bring a translator. But why if you are the ones who are providing the service, do you have to provide the patients with all the comforts they need is my question. read more

Beware!! This group is taking co-pays and not returning money if you've overpaid per YOUR insurance company. After calling 3x's to the Billing Dept. and requesting a Manager they FINALLY reimbursed the over-payment a month and a half later. They would have kept it if I didn't say anything. Dr. Christopher Lee told me I needed an X Ray, the Radiology Dept. is in the same building, I stood in line and waited my turn. When it came to my turn the woman shut the window and proceeded to do computer work. I thought "this will take a second or so." Another patient came waited behind me. He ended up at another window where there was another woman who proceed to "check the patient in." The woman who I was waiting for THEN proceed to open the window and told me "you can to go to the next window." I had been standing there for 3-4 minutes! Are you kidding me!!?? I ended up back at the doctor's office signing paperwork to release my records, I'll tell my PCP of these experiences and to NOT recommend people to Charles River. A CT Scan should be painless but not when the technician is condescending and sadistic. I had an appointment with the Charles River Medical Radiology Department in Framingham on Nov 3rd, 2015. This is my second Chest CT Scan since May of 2015. Both times I had the displeasure of getting the same tech. His name is Heldar Chaisson. It starts out professional. How are you? He asks my name and date of birth to assure that I am the right person. When you lie down on the platform, he gives you more instructions. Everything feels OK. When the scans are completed, he sat me up. Here is my problem with this guy. I am a 250 pound man in his 60's and he is lifting me up with one finger pressed against my spine at the base of my neck. Can you imagine how painful it was? Needless to say, it hurt. I still feel that pressure as I write this. It reminds me of the barber when I was growing up. I grew up in a small town. His name in town was "Vince the butcher." I don't remember the butcher part but I do remember that he would bear down on my scalp with his middle finger while he was cutting my hair. It hurt during and after the haircut. I can tell you, I dreaded going to this barber and shunned barbers when I was old enough to drive for fear that his method was the norm. Anyway, I digress. When I was up and off the platform, he says to me ... atta-boy! Well, I could have completely ignored his condescending demeanor when he said "atta-boy" to a grown man that is if I wasn't still feeling the pressure of his finger against my spine at the base of my neck when he "helped" me to sit-up. This was the same process when I was there in May. I let it go in May as an aberration. I could not let it go this time and I spoke up. He apologized but is that enough for a technician that does this about 50 times a day? I don't think that I was the target of his condescension and sadism. I think this is who he is and is unconsciously lashing out. Perhaps this is his way to feel better about himself by subtly inflicting pain in the name of doing his job. He probably doesn't expect anyone to speak out. Unfortunately, most do not out of fear, shyness or whatever. Well, to be frank, I didn't react the first time. This is my testimonial to anyone reading this to stay away from the Charles River Medical Radiology Dept. It is bad enough that you are going for a possible health problem so why let this guy ruin your day? He is definitely not a people person which is OK if he does his job but don't hurt me. read more

This is my first Yelp review. My Dr at the Natick location sent me to this Framingham radiology office for an ultrasound since they are affiliated. Upon walking in, there were 2 receptionists at the window. The first window was closed, so I approached the second window. There I saw a very displeased, overly tanned, in her mid-50s woman named Tamara, who barked: "name"! I was taken aback how this person can even sit at where you are suppose to be greeted & help people! I gave her my last name to which she puffed & rolled her eyes: "your first name". Her attitude from the get-go was just awful and I don't know how this office can employ such a condescending, eye-rolling, leave-me-alone-I-don't-feel-like-helping-you-today individual! She shouldn't work in the customer service. She shouldn't even work in the funeral home with dead people. She should work in a furniture warehouse, where she doesn't have to see or greet anyone but just deal with furniture. There are plenty of people who would take your job, lady! I know I'm not the first one that was treated like trash for walking into this office for no reason but to receive ultrasound. If anything, my payment covers part of your paycheck, Tamara. I hope the owners of this Office read this & come to their senses in straightening out her treatment towards all patients. Shame on you! read more

My husband's Lyme disease is acting up and I hold Dr. Bandari of Charles River Medical Associates responsible. Years ago Lew went to him to be tested for Lyme. The doctor's office told him that they would contact him if the test were positive. They said "No news is good news." They never contacted him. Three years later another doctor was going through Lew's records and saw that the earlier test result had been positive. Dr. Bandari had "forgotten" to call. Lyme can be cured if it is treated right away, otherwise it can become chronic. Because of Dr. Bandari's negligence Lew did not receive proper treatment and now the Lyme is chronic. read more

I had been complaining to my PCP for over 3 months in having difficulty in breathing. A CT scan of my chest was completed and no problems found in the lungs. In November 2015, I was referred to a cardiologist at the Charles River Medical office in Marlboro where I had an MD appointment with the cardiologist, then an echo-cardiogram appointment, then followed by another MD appointment with the same cardiologist. The conclusion was there was no heart problems found. I was then referred by my PCP to a pulmonary doctor in Worcester who ordered a stress test that was scheduled for January 2016. Two weeks after my second cardiology appointment in mid-November at Charles River Medical, I was admitted to the ER of UMass in Worcester on December 2 where it was concluded I had an acutely failing aortic valve. Desperate to breath, I was put on three different oxygen masks. After those didn't work, I was anesthetized and intubated for almost a week while a fever was reduced allowing an eventual valve replacement. After the fever was reduced, the aortic valve was replaced via TAVR. Prior to the valve replacement, the surgeon wanted to discuss with me valve replacement alternatives, but I could not be brought out of being anesthetized. Duration at UMass for the new valve was 22 days and I list 24 pounds, down to 161 pounds. I was so weak from atrophy, I could not feed myself with a spoon; others had to feed me. If this valve failure had been detected earlier, reviewing of alternative valves that could have been used would have taken place with the surgeon. As it was, I got what I got. I'm not at all satisfied with the cardiology exams at Charles River Medical. A post-surgery evaluation of the echo data showed Charles River Medical that there was in fact substantial leakage around the aortic valve. A NO star rating. read more

This place is the WORST. I made an appointment months in advance as a new patient with Dr. Gdula. Despite giving them all my pertinent information over the phone, when I arrived for my appointment they told me they didn't take my insurance. I called my insurance company who assured me they do, in fact, take my insurance with no restrictions. When I told the receptionist this at CRMA in Natick, she replied, "Sorry, I should have been clearer: we are not taking new patients with your insurance." This is clearly something they should have been told to me over the phone months prior and I would have found another doctor. Given the fact that they are in the business of providing medical care to people, their flippant disregard for people's healthcare is disgusting. Avoid them at all costs. read more
