Although it does not carry what I'm specifically interested in, if you like to play board games in a relaxed social atmosphere and pick up more modern-day collectibles, this might be the place for you. Madness has a wide variety of collector card sets, board games, and also modern action figure lines, with Star Wars and G.I. Joe as large focal points. Madness does carry some vintage Star Wars figures from the '70s/'80s but it really shines with the franchise toy lines that have come after that heyday, with deep inventory in the sequel trilogy figures, Power of the Force, post-prequel movie and streaming show figures, and the Retro Collection. This is also the place if you love the Pop! Funko figures (which I do not in the least) as Madness has definitely gone all in on the craze. I found the staff to be helpful with my questions during my visit and they gave me space to think about some items I was mulling over. Although I probably won't be a frequent visitor, I appreciate the unique offerings Madness brings, especially in creating community.

Especially for booster packs of Lorcana- even Target is cheaper. Stuff like deck boxes have fair pricing, but playmats you might as well get on Amazon for a third of the cost for the same mat. Only one of the staff members seemed friendly. A taller, older looking dude. Seemed kind. And was helpful. The rest hovered in the back being unapproachable. One even passed me by as I stood at the counter. The back of the shop has an area where they obviously have events, but there's no visible calendar of events in the main shop. I understand there are minimum order quantities with the distributors and that I might have been the only person interested in the TPB, but a warning or update would have been nice.

Uber friendly, patient, and full of knowledge of all things comic related. The store is very very small... a bit uncomfortable for my taste, especially when there are 3 or more people in there. But honestly, that is my only complaint. They strive to help everyone novice or expert, and they definitely have a system. Oh, they should incorporate a military/veteran discount. Many of what we buy helps veterans or deployed service members.

I was looking through a comic to see if I liked the art the story just skimming through it and he walks up to me and first asks if we're looking for anything specific then says "We're not gonna be reading through comics and reshelving today" then takes it out of my hands and puts it in the back of the store then when my brother said we were going to buy it he gave a half assed apology saying people do it all the time and I would forgive him for that case BUT I was not only looking at a comic before that one I was holding it around the store then when my brother found the one I was looking for I put the comic I HAD back where it goes on the shelf in numerical order and assuming they have cameras the old bald white dude that was being a dick should've seen that but I guess not. After he looked at all the cards he was reluctant to give me a number. So I had to play the guessing game and just figure out what he was valuing it at. I had already done research on my cards so I knew what they were worth in my head. Well over $100. I asked him if he would trade for a $20 card and a $10 card. Making the value $30. I knew I was taking a loss but I didn't really Care, I figured I might as well trade cards I don't want for some cards I do want even if I'm taking a Loss in value. He said no way, It's impossible to get to that value, I'm valuing your cards at like $15. So I just laughed, Got on my phone and started getting screen shots of the values of all my cards So I can show him what I'm seeing. I finally get around to explaining to him the values of my cards with picture proof, And he says yeah but you're pulling that up on an app, Apps generate fake Sales too so it's not reliable. And then he said he goes off of eBay Instead. Funny thing is when you click on the links on the app it takes you to the eBay listing and it shows the price it was sold at. So I told him this is eBay, And by the way eBay is also an app. Then he just started arguing, And acting obnoxious. Saying he doesn't use apps, Blah blah blah. He also went on to say eBay is full of fake sales, but had just said he doesn't use apps, just eBay sales. I told him that everybody Uses these apps to determine the value of cards. He asked me who is everybody. I said other collectors, Other card shops. And he said are they running my business? And then he said when you order something on eBay can you get it in 30 seconds. And I said no. And he said exactly that's the benefit of retail is that you can get it in 30 seconds and not have to pay for Shipping and fees. I said OK well you're just making my point stronger than because that means people paid more than what you're saying my cards are worth not only on price, But they also paid fees and shipping. Got to the point where I just had to leave, When I got out to my car I realized I had forgotten my drink inside and went back in. When I went back in he said some smart comment to me, In front of another customer. Just more of his usual nonsense. This guy is an absolute clown, And to his question about if these other places and people are running your business, No they are not. And that's why they are bigger than you, And that's why they have more product than you when you have none. The only product you have Is what you buy at another retail store, because nobody is sending you anything. You're too small of a business. And it's probably because of how small your way of thinking is.
