I've recently gotten back into my action figure/adult collectible hobby and stopped in Madness Games and Comics on a friend's recommendation. Although it does not carry what I'm specifically interested in, if you like to play board games in a relaxed social atmosphere and pick up more modern-day collectibles, this might be the place for you. Madness has a wide variety of collector card sets, board games, and also modern action figure lines, with Star Wars and G.I. Joe as large focal points. Madness does carry some vintage Star Wars figures from the '70s/'80s but it really shines with the franchise toy lines that have come after that heyday, with deep inventory in the sequel trilogy figures, Power of the Force, post-prequel movie and streaming show figures, and the Retro Collection. This is also the place if you love the Pop! Funko figures (which I do not in the least) as Madness has definitely gone all in on the craze. I found the staff to be helpful with my questions during my visit and they gave me space to think about some items I was mulling over. Although I probably won't be a frequent visitor, I appreciate the unique offerings Madness brings, especially in creating community. read more

They have so many games, collectibles, merchandise, clothing, etc. I had to wander around before I went to the desk to get help because I didn't know who was a patron or employee, once I asked they were so helpful. this a pretty cool store with a great collection of novelty items, I went in looking to purchase some comic books. I found one I was gonna go ahead and grab and one I wanted to take a second to read through a bit, I sat at one of the many empty chairs and began reading. Very quickly I was told not to read in the store without already purchasing the item. While I understand this a business and not a library, I was a little off put by it. I hadn't been there long there was no one else around, and this was my first time ever going to the store. I ultimately left without purchasing anything and probably won't return, shame would have definitely returned cool place, bad policy's. read more

On my first visit to Madness in Dallas, I was really looking forward to geeking out and loading up on comics, games, and collectibles because I had seen some of the reviews and especially noted the massive size of the store. Unfortunately, Madness is large in size only. The comics selection was particularly disappointing in that there was a decent selection of current and recent titles as well as an average selection of TPBs. But therein was the problem. It was only average. The same could be said for the games selection, the collectibles, and the things fans most want from a regional games and comics store. Sure, there were a lot of themed toys and a surprising number of Funko Pops!, but why do these take up almost half the store? In fact, it was the missing components that stood out more than anything. I'm not saying you shouldn't visit or that you won't find some things to take home, but I am saying that you need to temper your expectations. It would be madness to think otherwise. read more

Madness is a gaming superstore for basically anything nerdy outside of video games. I can't speak to their comics as it isn't my thing, but if you are a fan of games they hit all the major pillars: board games, war games, dungeons and dragons, magic: the gathering, etc. its been great to see them to continue to thrive and grow over the years in their current location after they outgrew their (now very) old one. This place is massive and you can easily lose a half hour plus just browsing their stock. it's a bit surprising to see they haven't needed to adapt to compete with the ever growing the online discount warehouse shops on price, especially with one of the newer ones being at DFW, but the staff has always been happy to talk with customers and make recommendations so really it's just a difference business model. If your in the area or lucky enough to be a local and love board games make sure to check it out. Honestly, it's my favorite game shop in DFW and I'm not sure there is even a close second. read more

I've spent a lot of money and time at Madness over close to a decade and what I can tell you is that not even that level of commitment to this game store will garner you even an iota of additional friendly customer service above the bank-like atmosphere this store maintains. Yes they have a huge gaming selection, but buying games, cards, and toys in the lobby of a federal reserve bank has a way of sapping the joy out of it all. With the recent COVID epidemic, Madness has gotten even worse. Even seconds of your mask not covering your mouth post bite of a snack or sip of a drink will earn you a hawklike visit from a wide-eyed, perturbed, exacerbated, and irritated grandma telling you to get your mask up. These kinds of interactions could be handled so much better and with a kinder approach that says, "we want you here", without having to say it. After all these years I'm going to take my business elsewhere and make sure to never go there. It's just not a fun experience at all. If I'm going spend my discretionary income, I want to have fun doing so and it's not at Madness. read more

I love this place. It's pretty much a done deal that I'll stop in Madness when I visit the area and it's always awesome. Honestly, I don't really think about the customer service too much when I'm here, as I just love to walk around and pick out stuff I want to buy, but every time I've interacted with an employee they've been fine. I think the pricing is fine, as you know hobby places are always a bit expensive anyway (like they've always been). The atmosphere of this place rules and it brings me joy to take my kids here so they can experience an awesome hobby shop in person and not just buy stuff online. Take places like this for granted over your small gripes, but I would much rather have it than not and Madness Games and Comics rules. read more

You get 2 stars because of your selection and customer service but for real though your prices are ridiculous $1500 for XY Evolutions Booster Box thats a huge mark up you can get it on EBay for $600-$800 with free shipping and you dont negotiate I haven't been to any card/comic book shop that doesnt negotiate only your business! $42 for regular 12 pocket zipper binders they're $29 on Amazon with free shipping i get it you pay for convenience but that one hell of a convenience fee. read more

The service and ambiance is amazing and if you're looking for nerdy things to buy, this is the place for you. I would also add that their variety is amazing. The one problem is that they dice and quite a few other products are way overpriced and can be purchased on Amazon for way cheeped. It was going downhill fast in the 12-18mo leading up to covid, but once covid hit, they went full libtard. I've spent thousands there, but you can't be nostalgic. What a cool place! I had heard of this game/comic book store before, but in my mind I envisioned it to be a small, quaint store that wouldn't have a whole lot to offer. Wow, was I wrong! I went to Madness Games & Comics for National Free Comic Book Day a few days ago and was blown away by how exciting and fun the event was. It was obvious that the staff put a lot of planning and thought into the event, and the long line for free comics went quickly and smoothly. The store staff members are so incredibly helpful and jovial; you can tell they really enjoy their jobs. It is a very warm, welcoming atmosphere with so much to look at! There is a huge row of movie cut-out figures along the back wall. One side of the store is full of collectible cards (Pokemon, etc.) that are well-organized and priced visibly. There is a section for clothing; pieces that are very fun and unique. There are so many stuffed animals and squishy, lovable toys/critters! There are themed board games, every kind of dice yopu can possibly imagine for Dungeons and Dragons, Star Wars items, collectible character statues, art journals, comic books, storage supplies, and even a snack corner in the front of the store where you can get a drink or snack for a very inexpensive price. There are even game tournaments scheduled! I can't believe it took me so long to visit Madness Games & Comics. I even got to visit with a very realistic R2-D2! I will be back - and often! read more

I have spent thousands of dollars at Madness, but not anymore. I was there last weekend playing D&D and asked on of the employees if I could put a couple of the tables together and he said sure. So we put together the tables to spread out a bit. A manager came by and started berating me for putting the together the tables, he didn't care that I had permission and started bitching me out about fire codes and crap. All you had to do was say, sorry for the confusion with regards to the other employee and that would of been fine; I was happy to put the tables back. But instead you raised your voice at me, berated me, and treated me like a child. I am your customer, you don't have to be a complete jerk. Is it that hard to be polite? Great store! Tables at the back are open daily for you to take games you own must bought) and play with friends or strangers. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and great with the kids. I am not a gamer at all, but the kids are and go here several times per month. Their every day prices are perhaps slightly more expensive than a website. But, you're supporting a great local business and hangout location for kids that love games. Huge selection of the en vogue stuff and the obscure stuff. If not, it is a huge comic store with an enormous wall of new comics and boxes of older ones. They have all kinds of comic supplies (bags/boards and the like). If you are a tournament gaming type person, this would be like Nirvana for you. I don't know much about gaming our the tournaments.......
