What can I say about this place? You can tell they are greedy, shameless, and run by scalpers. Came in for a prerelease set they confirmed was MSRP a few days before they received them. Once I got there, almost bought it until I realized they were charging double MSRP. DOUBLE. At that point, just use this store to see things in person before finding much better deals online, if you need to go in store at all. Again, what a shame they've decided to be greedy. If you can avoid it, do so. Go to Generation X comics in Bedford. That place is magical, has a much wider selection, and is next to a Vietnamese place that sells boba. Most importantly, they operate with integrity, fairness, and is just a place i like to do business at. Again, don't go to boomers and comics. Go to Generation X comics. read more

I just love visiting Boomerang Comics. They have a plethora of new comics on the walls. They carry the big two (Marvel and DC), as well as a lot of independents. (Think: Image, Archie, Boom!, Dark Horse and others.) The people who work here are very knowledgable about their store and what they have to offer. I just love asking them what is coming out and what is a great read. They also have a great comic book subscription service, that ensures that you will not miss a title when it comes out. Just make sure that you pick it up at least once every other month. If not they will call you up with a friendly reminder. Now I'm not a board gamer, or a card player, but it looks to me that they have a ton of this type of stuff at their store. I did see some D&D stuff so I'm sure they have a ton more across the store. Also I do on occasion see some people in the back playing games at the tables, so it would appear that you can join a party for whatever it is you are looking for. I for one really enjoy supporting this local comic book shop, and I hope that you come by to check it out, and start supporting it as well. Remember new comics come in every Thursday. read more

I was in the area for an event and on the way home decided to stop by some local comic book stores with the kids to look for a book I've been searching for. I try my best to avoid buying comics online so that I can support local businesses. I usually frequent my local shop but I'm thankful I was able to visit Boomerang comics. This shop is awesome! I wish it was closer to me, but if I'm ever in the area again I'll definitely stop by just to browse. Bit of back story, I've been looking for chapters 4 and 5 of a series I've been following and not a single comic book store in my area had those two issues. Boomerang luckily had number 5 so I stopped by and picked it up. The store is nicely stocked and there's an area in the back for people to play card games. They have a really nice selection of funko pops, miniatures, and other collectibles. The comic book selection is really nice and well organized. I didn't really ask about any services they offer in terms of subscriptions, but I'm sure if you give them a call they'd be happy to answer any questions you may have. The employee who helped me was really friendly on the phone and knew exactly what I was looking for when I walked in the door. Great place. Shops like this are fantastic additions to the community that I wish more people who visit and appreciate. read more

Over the past few years, I have stopped by here on the weekends. The many times I have com on a Saturday afternoon, I have had exceptional service from the employees. They have made great recommendations on the which graphic novel is ideal to introduce the various DC and Marvel characters to someone. Not too long ago, I came here on a Sunday. Well, that was the last time I did. Unfortunately, the folks who work the Saturday shift have set an extremely high expectation when I come here. Sadly, the guy who worked on that Sunday never came close to meeting that expectation. As a result, I only come here on Saturdays when I know this store is staffed with the Avengers instead of the Defenders. With Disney/Marvel introducing lesser known characters in the coming years, I can count on these folks to help me get familiarized with them. read more

Excellent customer service and selection! I wanted to introduce my 10 yo, Spider-Man obsessed nephew to comic books and my research yielded Boomerang as the best store for this venture! We walked in and he couldn't believe his eyes--he was so excited and filled with absolute wonder! I chatted with the guys up front and asked questions about the layout and where to find Spider-Man comics and other comics that are appropriate for his age. This is a new location and I just got in to comics so this is the first one I've shopped at extensively. The selection is pretty big, lots of new releases and a good backstock with some collectible things as well. There's a kids comic area and he sells toys, D&D gear, games and some clothing. The owner, Neil, is really great, learned me and my boyfriend by name real fast and has made special orders for us. I love supporting his store. I highly recommend the shop to everyone!!! read more

This is a great place for both old and new comics! I'm not much of a gamer but plenty of DND mini figs, dice, cards, you name it. Jack is the manager there and he is doing an AMAZING job! He greets you with a smile and is very kind and helpful. My girlfriend and I were there for our first time and stayed right up until closing. Jack was so kind in letting us know what time they closed and was very pleasant at checkout. Most places are usually rude if you stay there up until closing. I have also asked Jack a few questions and he seems very well knowledged on comics and what their inventory looks. I will definitely be back for more! read more

This was our first trip to the comic book store, and we had a lot of fun. The best part was the staff quickly came and asked if they could help us. Being new to comic books, and having little kids, we had no idea what we were doing. The employee took us to age-appropriate comics, and some other comics that were not too graphic. They had a really good selection of comic books. They had all the comics that I have ever heard of, plus numerous ones that I have not heard of. The prices were pretty reasonable. I let both kids pick out a comic and they were very happy. The store also has a lot of collectibles. We spent a good 15 minutes wandering around looking at all the non-comic book stuff. We are not huge comic book people obviously, but we will be back the next time we want to buy a new comic. read more

I don't live anywhere close to Boomerang, so I'm not a regular but every once in a while I'll visit during my lunch break. They have a decent selection of merchandise like t-shirts, vinyl figures, board games, action figures and statuettes on display. Comics-wise they do carry most of the new titles but where they really shine is their selection of graphic novels. You can find most of the Marvel/ DC titles and a surprising number of the indie gems as well. I usually go here to get some of the Kidrobot Dunny series figurines and any of the lesser known/ harder to find graphic novels like Pinocchio: Vampire Slayer series. Yes, Pinocchio fights vampires. Comic book shops have many different types of styles: gaming dungeons. mid-life crisis guy's basement, or a nerd's paradise. Boomerang Comics falls under the category of a Nerd Paradise. Excellent selection of comics, and the most popular ones will have multiple issues. Shelves are separated by Indie, DC, Marvel, and New Releases. Don't freak out, if you missed your favorite new release, you can either request for them to order you a copy, or a nice sign that says "New Last Week" will be underneath your comic book gem. The staff is very friendly, and helpful. As a newbie to comics, I got some really great recommendations from them. Loyalty programs are a must - I joined the graphic novel one as that's more my style. If you a FUNKO fan, this is the place to go - filled with mini mysteries, and figurines galore. This is my absolute favorite local comic shop! The staff is VERY personable, & help you to feel more like a visiting friend than a customer. Neal--the owner--has been SO helpful & is always willing to provide suggestions when I need them. My friends and I have attended a few of their hosted events, and have always had a great time. To my knowledge, they host a monthly comic book-club-esque type event, a weekly board game night (on Saturdays), & just recently began a monthly Ladies' Night (ladies only, of course). Best comic book store in the Irving/Lewisville area, IMO, & definitely where I'll be keeping my pull list. If you're new to comics, the courteous staff will help to ease you into them; if you're a veteran, they've got the chops to lay down some knowledge on comic current events. I don't go to stores like this very often - we were looking for some board games of the "Settlers of Catan" type, not the "Monopoly" type. When I do occasionally wonder into a comic book store, I am often in "let's get what we need and get out of here" mode, since often, then theme or ambience of the store doesn't seem very family friendly, shall we say. I was pleasantly surprised by Boomerang -- it was clean, bright, and each staff member was friendly and knowledgeable. They had a huge selection of family friendly board games. I went in here looking for a game to play on Christmas with my family. I was a little hesitant because I had a bad experience at the last comic book shop that I went to. Boomerang, unlike the other shop, was extremely friendly and helpful. They helped me find the game I was looking for and gave me some other options. Boomerang is really the only comic store I will shop at. The owner Neil and I are on first name basis and he always greats me when I come in. There is a great selection of current releases stretching half the length of the store and turning the back corner. There is a limited assortment of back issues but there are usually 3-4 of the previous issues behind current run issues on the walls. They also have a great selection of graphic novels available. The store has a weekly newsletter that lets you know what's in and new in the store which is really helpful. They also do movie nights with the Studio Movie Grill down the road which are awesome. read more

Perfectly well put together comic book store. Pricing is reasonable compared to Amazon. They offer subscriptions and have ample space in the back for tabletop gaming. Very clean and inventory of trades was pretty thorough. Trades are sorted by publisher and then by character/title. They offer a frequent buyers program that gets you one free book (10 credits) for every $10 you spend. Dropping $60 on books gets you 6 credits. Might be nice for some of the pricier anthologies but I don't know if there's a limit on it or not. Didn't really get a chance to talk to staff since I knew what I was looking for but they were nice enough. read more

It's been since the old location since I have reviewed, with the new location I want to give it more stars! ALL the staff are amazing and courteous, the layout is spacious and the lighting is great. The rewards program is that with every ten graphic novels or games the average of what you spend is put on the eleventh via program credit, so you can essentially get a free book/game or it's heavily discounted! The staff are very knowledgeable and are eager to recommend great titles, I've never heard anyone dismiss anyone so I'm not sure if that one patron visited the same comic shop! read more

So, I've been coming to Boomerrang for about 3 years now. Tty to make it in at least once a month. Never had a bad experience there. The staff greets you with a smile, is always helpful, and I quite enjoy our little chats. Very knowledgable on both games and comics, I've gotten more than my share of tips and suggestions when I didnt even really know what I wanted, but was in the mood to try something new. I'm about to move 40 miles away from Lewisville... but Boomerrang is still my home LCS. I'll make the drive to give Neil and crew my business. Keep up the good work guys. Had a great time playing FNM. It was the first time I played FNM or much MtG period. The staff was super friendly, the judges were attentive and everyone got a prize. I didn't fair as well as others, but I had a blast. They appeared to have a great selection of comics, and saw signs for pathfinder RPG so if MtG isn't your thing, there are plenty of other things for everyone. read more

We are not accorded the luxury of choosing the comic book store we fall in love with. Do you think Boomerange is anything like the store I thought I'd shop at? It is a vibrant, friendly, prideful store who barders great deals to please its patrons often. We Geeks and Nerds often tout our prowess in battle and our desire for honor and glory above all else... but how hollow is the sound of victory without great comic books, board games and Pokemon tournaments. It is a decent enough shop. For its size it has a good selection of comic books, all the big names, and popular indie publishers. Nice selection of graphic novels with some manga. They even have a good selection of board games, and collectables. The bad part, this is not a good shop to go to, if you are a guy. The female staff while very knowledgeable was extraordinarily rude to two other male shoppers (made negative jokes about appearance and body weight) while I was their and were also quite rude to me as well. First they were less that helpful as their attention was on fixed on one of their phones! Then They were condescending in their tone, and when asking about titles such as Wonder Woman, Red Sonja, Batwoman, and Lumberjanes. I was given disgusting looks and told that I didn't want to read those and I should look for something I should actually be interested in. I really do hope this is not normal for this shop, I may someday go back, but it was such a terrible experience that I will make no effort to do so. I will not recommend them as they have a decent but fairly standard inventory. There are better shops, closer to home with male and female staff that are courteous, outgoing, and helpful. read more
