In terms of stock for things other than comics, they have a selection that I see as mediocre at best at times, though this is likely due to supply and demand, especially now considering everything going on. Necessary D&D minis were sometimes hard to come across even before this. Overall, the Multiverse is a great place to stop in my experience. My favorite Anime of all time is DeathNote, so I figured this was the perfect selection. Several titles caught my eye, and I look forward to my next visit. It's all here in one crowded, slightly chaotic package. They've got a ton of bulk Pokémon and Magic cards in large, loosely organized drawers you can dig through for hours. There's a decent selection of tabletop minis, paints, tiles, TTRPG books, and board games, nothing mind-blowing, but more than enough to get a new campaign rolling or add to your collection. Events happen regularly, which is great in theory but a bit awkward in practice if you're not partaking. If you need access to the back wall where the tables are, you'll likely be squeezing past players mid-match. If it's accessible at all. The entrance can also get pretty bottlenecked depending on how many people are milling around. The store's clean enough for a hobby shop, but if you're a germaphobe, maybe bring hand sanitizer. The staff are helpful when asked and otherwise leave you to browse. Every now and then one might get chatty, but not in a bad way. The whole place is welcoming with that typical nerdy vibe you expect from a place like this. It's a very inclusive store, if that's your thing. The prices are as you would expect. They have been independently and family-owned for over 40 years, and they are a must-stop for all book and music lovers out there. This store is HUGE with over half-a-million books, movies, music and memorabilia. However, I think what makes them extra special is the curated selection of Horror and Thriller books, including some very unique collectibles. I am more into contemporary, so keep in mind those books are located on the top floor of their second building. Their children's book section was also incredible but frankly I didn't have the patience to go through them. This store can be a little overwhelming so definitely take a breath and ask for help if you can't find the genre you are looking for.

TERRIBLE SERVICE - Won't Be Back…read more FIRST - I walked in and the person behind the counter just stared at me. No "Hi," no "Hello," no "How can I help you"... NOTHING. I had to introduce myself and explain I was there to inquire about selling some Pokémon cards. He then told me they only buy in bulk. Fine - I actually came in with a huge collection plus a rare Dragonite V Alternate Art 192/203 (Evolving Skies Full Art Alt Art). SECOND - I asked if he wanted to at least look at the rare card. He declined without hesitation, then added that shops "only pay 20%-30% of the value." That is completely FALSE. THIRD - After all of this, I said "okay" and wrapped it up. But was I thanked for coming in? Was I told "have a good day" or even a simple "bye"? Nope. Just another blank stare. This shop clearly does not value its customers or show even the bare minimum of courtesy. Even if they don't want to purchase something, the least they could do is provide basic customer service. They had new and vintage floppies, covering publishers from Marvel to Image, however they had no books. They had plenty of toys and lots of random funko pops from various media. Staff was fast with my checkout, but otherwise unobtrusive. Definitely worth another visit!

It's a fun trip down memory lane, though it doesn't fully capture the magic of the original stores from the 80s and 90s. The store is now franchised rather than corporately owned, which changes the feel a bit. Prices are on the higher side, and while there are some interesting and unique items, there weren't many Toys"R"Us exclusives beyond a Geoffrey the Giraffe pop. Still, the store is clean, organized, and has plenty to explore, whether you're a collector, a parent, or just a kid at heart.
