I am new to Richmond and was searching for a well priced relaxing location for a gel manicure. This place had a lot of great reviews on Google so I decided to give it a shot and took my sister here for some pampering. Unfortunately it was not very good especially for the price. As my sister put it, my nails look like I did them myself :( my nail edges have polish sticking out which is disappointing (even when I brought up the edges the technician said "it's fine"). They also had a weird way of cutting cuticles and cut me on two fingers (if you pull on cuticles or hangnails sideways away from the nail then you of course will rip the skin, usually the pros know that). At the end the technician filed my nails again, after they applied the topcoat. I've never seen that done because usually the topcoat seals it all for long lasting results. Oh, they also went really wild sanding down my nails before applying polish, and my nail shapes aren't consistent at all. They only have 1 table for manicures so it's not a good location if you want to go with friends or sisters because we couldn't even talk or hang out... Nice people, just not good at manicures and location isn't that special. I'll try a different place next time. Side note: I should have been more thorough about checking their work for manicures. After looking at other results I see this is typical for this location. read more

I have been threading my brows for years and my friend recommended me to go to Geeta's. Booking was easy and I was able to get an appointment the same day. The girl who did my brows was friendly however her work was absolutely terrible! I told her specifically to keep my brow shape and to only clean up the strayed hairs. I was shocked when I opened my eyes and heartbroken to see that my right brow was completely broken and the shape was utterly ruined. The worst part was that she didn't acknowledge her mistake and instead kept giving excuses that she kept the hair at the bottom of arch so that both brows are "balanced". The left brow was also red. The next day I began to notice scarring above my left brow also as a result of this terrible job. I will certainly never go back and recommend all my friends to avoid this place. read more

I've had my eyebrows done here several times but this is the first time I'm leaving a review. First, I love the location and the time they close. It's so convenient and you never have to wait too long to get your eyebrows done. They close later than most salons so this is the place I go to when I get off work. I've had most of the ladies do my eyebrows as I don't call and ask for someone specifically. I only walk in and I trust everyone who works here. They only take 5 minutes to do the job, quick and painless, too! The lady I had today was Jess, she was sweet and lovely to talk to. She was gentle and asked if my eyebrows are OK in the end. My usual threading place in Richmond no longer offers threading so I tried this one out. Found them on Yelp. Pretty good! I'll be back! There is a lot construction around the area (on all sides) so it's a bit of a journey trying to get in. I ended up driving in from the back and parked where some dentist and medical clinic is. Paid $2 for an hour parking and realized they had two free dedicated stalls closer to the front entrance (closer to Cook Rd). Oops. I was greeted right away by a woman when I stepped in. I said I wanted eyebrow and upper lip threading. She said ok and did not give much direction so I just awkwardly sat down on the couch in front of the cash register/podium. There was another customer already seated there. The small room right behind the desk/cash register is where they do the threading. There's only two chairs inside the room so I can imagine it getting quite slow on a busier day. Luckily I came in just before a little rush at around 4pm on a Thursday so I waited less than 10 mins before a woman asked who's next and I was seated inside the room. I asked for brow clean up and upper lip. It was quick and relatively painless. She asked me to take a look. $8.40 for both eyebrow and upper lip threading. Not too shabby. Not much on customer service; it's more of a no fuss, in and out in 10 mins type of place, which I don't mind. Note that it's cash only below $5. read more

Get my hair wash by uncomfortable chair in the same room with laundry and dryer machine working next to me. One time each for hair wash and conditioner. My hair style done not right with the price that I paid. Pulling my hair too much and she seemed confuse to roll in or out. I glad she made up her mind and finished it. Tips for her: please turn the back of chair to the big mirror if you wanted customer to see the whole hair at the back and hold the small mirror in front of the customer so customer see big picture. Not standing right behind the customer and hold a small mirror. I guess it works cuz mostly hair salon done this way. read more

I have been going to Geeta's for the past 10 Years- they are the best when it comes to eyebrows -upper lip threading, wax, mani- pedis! They are no fuss, get it done type of a place/ doesn't mean the customer service is lacking in any way. They are accommodating and very polite. Geeta is all ears when you give her any sort of feedback- a true customer service oriented business owner! You can pay $$$ and get your room darker but the service you will get here vs costlier saloon is the same. So keep your money in the bag and come here. read more

For the past seven years, I've come to Geeta for threading ($5.25 Cdn). I've never been disappointed since. All the staff are professional and friendly. Most importantly, I find her service affordable compared to other salons in the area. I didn't feel any pain the first time I went to her. Geeta and her estheticians are really fast and perform their threading with ease and comfort, which, for me, is pretty important. Lastly, she and her girls are really well trained in shaping your eyebrows. I always feel clean and polished when I come out of the salon. read more

Have been here many times but today a girl I've never seen before put a cut in my lip threading (I'm the maid of honour in my brother's wedding in 2 days) left hairs all over the place on both brows, didn't trim enough, and when she asked me if I plucked my eyebrows and I said yes she replied "that's why you've messed them up." Wow. I actually have to go home and pluck out all the hairs she missed (and trim). My friend went in next and she came out with the edge of her lip cut too. I keep coming back to this location more and more frustrated. The lady that does your lashes and Brazilian has little to zero attention to detail. She also does not use tweezers (Brazilian) - I've had places that charge $25 and they leave the area spotless. As well, if you don't come every 4-5 weeks, she will charge you a full $35 instead of $30 - which is completely arbitrary. With my case, I like having an arch but when my brows grow in, they come in more straight, so if I'm getting a threading, the ladies often just go with the natural shape of my brows. I always have to ask for an arch. I am never given the opportunity to see what my brows look like after she is done. I require this option just in case, and I believe that is a central tenant of customer service. After the service is all said and done, she merely confidently walks out and you're left having to rub yourself down with aloe vera and oils. It's awful and I only recommend this place if you're truly in a jam! read more

Not the best CS, but that hardly matters because the eyebrow threading job here is GREAT and fast (and so freaking cheap!!!). I liked the threading done here more than Dona Lucia's (but that's testimonial), and the place just seems nicer - from the front anyway - although a tad obscure. It's also very accessible by transit, i.e. Canada Line. I'm coming back. TIP: DO NOT trust Google Maps. Instead rely on the map provided by their Facebook page. It is kind of hard to find--I got lost too-- but it's almost directly "behind" Chapters, where all the other red-bannered shops are. I'm a regular customer and have been going to Geeta's for years. I get waxing, eyebrow threading, and my nails done there. Geeta and her staff are incredibly friendly and service-oriented. I feel like I am among friends when I go there and I know that Geeta will always ensure that the service I receive is up to par. For manicures and eyebrows, I would recommend making an appointment with Geeta herself, though the other girls are great for the other services. Regarding eyebrows: have lived in MULTIPLE cities all over the world and have had my eyebrows done at several salons by several people. It is something I am very sensitive and picky about. I've been coming here for years. They're always accommodating and I can normally just walk in, sometimes wait 5-10 minutes. But due to COVID now I just call before I leave to let them know and they're always available. Prices are VERY reasonable and the place is clean. I got a manicure here today in preparation for my upcoming wedding, and it was terrible. A man whose name I did not get gave me the manicure, and he ruined my nails. I had gel polish on, which he took off along with the top coat of my nails! He also filed my nails so badly that I don't know if they can be saved. I am really upset, considering this is for my wedding. If it was just the horrible polish application, it wouldn't be so bad, but messing up my nails like this before my wedding day is awful. He blamed me for not giving my nails a "break" from the gel polish, and that is why they looked so bad when he painted them. 1) I have been getting gel polish for awhile, and this is the first time that I have had damage to my nails 2) when I came home, I immediately took off the nail polish he applied and repainted my nails, and they are perfect. During the manicure, he kept bending my nails and telling me how thin they were, causing additional damage to them and making my skin crawl. He left nail polish on my cuticles, didn't even moisturize my hands whatsoever, didn't speak a word to me except to say that I looked tired. This manicure not only looks terrible, it also did unrepairable damage to my nails before by wedding. EDIT: The owner of the salon replied to my comments generously offering me a complimentary service. I did not accept, since I did not want to come all the way out to Richmond in hopes of a better manicure. However, Geeta called me four times in a row a few hours I left the review. I was unable yo answer the phone, and this type of agressive behavior makes me not want to have anything to do with this salon. This is the best place in Richmond to get your eyebrows threaded. Pinkys down the street will gossip about you and Professional Touch will make your eyebrows too thin. Jeet always does my eyebrows and fixed my eyebrow missap from a few months ago! My eyebrows are looking great and full now. If you are nervous, if it's your first time getting threaded or what have you, I suggest telling the technician to do a clean up and then if you're not happy she can shape them from there. Often times we don't know what shape we want and you might be happy with a clean up! I have also gotten pedicures here and they are done to perfection. I like that Geeta's uses bags in the container of water while soaking your feet to prevent any nasty infections. A great, local place for all your beauty needs. read more

Horrendous customer service. Made an appointment for a eyebrow tint and eyebrow thread over the phone and came in for the service. Over the phone, I did not specify my gender but she assumed it was a female eyebrow service. In reality, I was actually booking for my brother, because he was nervous to book an appointment for himself. We arrive at Geeta's and I tell the lady at the front that the service is actually for my brother, she laughs at him and says that they only do female eyebrows. My brother, extremely red in the face, asks her the difference between female and male services. To which she replies with another laugh and no answer. Suffice to say my brother was embarrassed and hurt from this experience. Maybe they limit their clientele based on the fact that males tend to have thicker eyebrows than females? Nonetheless, the employee could have explained their policy as opposed to laughing. Her actions did not seem very professional in my opinion, especially since there were other clients sitting around. Overall, you can't really beat getting your eyebrows done for $5 in Richmond, but this one of the worst customer service experiences I've had in my life. If I was able to give no stars, I would. Brazilian waxing: Gave her $5 tip personally BUT she still put it inside the till so I'M NOT SURE if tips are given to the staff who does the service. When i got home, there were hair here and there on my private area ( so it's not really brazilian waxing... They don't let you check it before leaving the bed cuz they leave the room right away after it is "done." ) Overall if you like clean and no double- dipping of wax for Brazilian, this IS NOT the place to be in. read more

This is the only place in all of metro Vancouver I will get my eyebrows threaded. They are fast and painless. Takes literally 5 minutes for perfect brows, and only for 6 dollars. I had mine done in 3 different place in London UK and none of them compared to Geeta's! read more

I am still not sure about the previous reviews about Geeta's Beauty Salon. I have been going here since she opened and actually followed Geeta from previous salons where she worked. I have always been happy with her job on my eyebrows. Her staff are friendly and efficient, and Geeta is welcoming and skillful. She has recently done some renovations to her salon and it looks outstanding. I would recommend going to see it for yourself. It is clean, professional, and inviting. They even offer you something to drink while you wait and you usually don't have to wait long as Geeta is almost never running really behind. As a loyal customer of over 10 years (and counting!), I would highly recommend Geeta's beauty salon for her efficient service, great prices, and variety of services ie. nails, threading, waxing, facials ect. I have never been disappointed and even complete strangers have commented on my nails and eyebrows! Being new to eyebrow maintenance since I have blonde eyebrows, I went in a few times with my sister and Geeta did a wonderful job. I was very happy. I went in one day and Geeta was vey busy so I thought "whats the difference, I'll just get this orher lady here to do it." BAD CHOICE! WOW I will only get Geeta to do it from now on. The other lady took like ten minutes one one brow, I was bleeding, it hurt so much I got up and left; didnt even let her finish it hurt so much. Went in the next day and saw Geeta and my service was on the house. SUCH A SWEETHEART. I always leave a toonie for her. IM SURE she had a treasure trove full of em! Came here for Brazilian waxing and this place is amazingggggg! They were still able to accommodate me 10 mins before closing. And I was in and out literally in 5-8 mins (other places would normally take longer cause I haven't had mine done in a while). She's super speedy (doesn't count down or rub the wax strip like 3 times and get you all tensed up) and the pain level is minimal. The only cons are that they do reuse the bed sheet and the wax stick....if you don't mind that then I would definitely recommend this place :) read more

I called Geeta after the debacle...the lady is all heart, she was sorry for what happened and told me to come to the parlour and she will try and help me out..I told her I was out of town and couldn't have come for a few days but if she wants I can send her the picture of my scraped nose but the lady said it was okay I can just come anytime and she will honour my complaint and help me out. I went to the parlour today after speaking with Geeta and she was wonderful and gave me great service and free express facial...I had a wonderful experience and I am grateful she received my complaint so well...thank you Geeta. read more
