We contacted five tree service companies requesting estimates. All of them responded with an on-site visit and with an estimate within a few days. Because of the complex nature of the project all but one of them recommended the use of a crane for the removal, especially for one tree behind the house on a hillside. All of the services we contacted were responsive, professional, and reasonably priced from what we had been told by others who have had trees removed. We selected KB Trees for the project was because, not only did they give us an estimate on the trees that we had identified, they pointed out others near the house that had various signs of decay. They gave us a revised estimate to include the additional trees for a total of thirteen trees, none of them under ninety feet tall and one that was eight feet in circumference. On the day of the project their crew arrived precisely when they were expected. We chose not to be home in order to avoid a nervous breakdown on our part, nor did we want to be hovering over the crew while they performed their work. We were apprehensive as we drove down our driveway at the end of the day. Had they even been there?! They left NOTHING behind. There was not a log, branch, twig, or leaf in evidence. In spite of the crane and other heavy equipment they utilized, the drive and surrounding area had been swept clean. What a welcome experience to have a company provide such stellar service without a raft of caveats and "what if's" We are delighted that we chose KB Trees for our project.

Sven was the first to respond. He offered to come out immediately after normal work hours for a free quote. He thoroughly inspected the tree and assured me that it wasn't in imminent danger of falling over. That night he sent over a quote that was substantially lower than I had feared it would. He scheduled the job for the weekend, showed up on time, and just worked solidly until the job was done. Pretty much a flawless transaction. We'll use him again for sure.

He gave us the lowest price for an actual professional trim (vs someone just coming in with a ladder) and I trusted him to not damage our roof. Please see before and after pictures of the trim. That said, I have to say I'm unhappy with the logistics. It was difficult to schedule with Tree Lion. They forgot to put me in their schedule and rescheduled last minute. They also were the only contractor who did not come do a site survey before giving me a quote, which led to a logistical issue of where to stage the bucket lift and needing to drive the large truck in between our fence posts. I did explicitly say we were planning on replacing the fence, so I am not particularly upset, but I have to mention on this review that he bent our fence post with the truck and did not mention it to us. Imo, just a few avoidable logistical issues. Great tree service? Yes, absolutely. Good work and good value. Professional conduct? I'm sorry to say could be better.
