I work for a law firm and Geico was aware the client had legal representation. Geico sent the client a check for just over $4,000 for her injuries but she is still seeing doctors for treatment. Geico wanted the client to accept this check for ending the claim. Talk about unethical - Geico apparently wants to cheat people out of what is due to them. I've been with Geico Insurance for 23 years....23 years! and I will be cancelling my policy with them. I filled a claim, of which in 23 years I never did for Comprehensive coverage and they denied my claim. After a grueling week of them questioning me and asking for all kinds of supporting documents, of which I provided. I never heard back from the team (which I must say, there where 4-5 members that contacted me). Finally I got a text from Mike the claims adjustor a week later asking for a rating on his performance....lol what a joke. I ask him if they are gonna honor my claim. He then texted back, no I was not approve. So, no one from Geico (Team that stressed me out into Labor Day weekend) didn't have the courtesy to call me and let me know. Geico will no longer be apart of my family, and when I say that, I mean my daughter is cover by them, and I will advise her to cancel as well and anyone that ask me about Geico. IF THEY CAN TREAT A CUSTOMER THAT HAS BEEN WITH THEM FOR 23 YEARS, I CAN ONLY IMAGE HOW THEY WILL TREAT SOMEONE NEW THAT HAS TO FILE A CLAIM. ALDEN STARR IS LITERALLY THE SLACKEST OF THE SLACK! which I thought it was just a me thing until both the collision center and the car rental company both confirmed that it was not just my imagination that they had issues when it came to dealing with him! Maybe he looks good to Geico, because he screws it people over, saving them money but they need to see the truth about him! I was in an accident in April. I have proof of all the accident and he only would approve to get my front end Damage repaired and not all of the damages from the one accident! I tried to call him numerous times. He's only called me back one time and I spoke to him one other time other than that I have been ignored completely by the man he told me he was going to see about getting my side of my car fixed because it was definitely due to the accident and it was very much obvious that it was from the accident and since he said that I have not heard from him! this is going on weeks so I am done contacting him and leaving him messages to give me a call back because obviously he's trying to get out of doing the right thing and instead wants to screw me over! But yet Geico wants to charge me out-of-pocket $3000 for a car that literally had no scratches! no marks! and because I was going through a lot at the time and did not realize my insurance that I'm having to pay for it out of pocket but how are they going to say I need to pay $3000 for a bumper that didn't even get barely touched, and yet they can't fix my damn door that they're liable for?! PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE: THEY WILL MESS YOU UP Stay away from these people at all cost Very dishonest. I went shopping for a new homeowner policy after having the same policy for 15 years. The reason was because of a rate increase. After applying for the policy everything seems okay. this was one week before the hurricane Matthew hit our area. During the storm, My roof was damaged along with several other homes in my area. At the time I signed up for this new Policy I was still covered under state farm. I contacted a contractor to fix my roof two days after the storm but was told they were backlogged because of all the work they were doing. I was told they would put me on their list I contacted three contractors and they all said the same thing. I tried several times to to to the agent who signed me up but only spoke to him once during this whole ordeal. It would always be some lady in the office never the agent. I also told them I wanted them to insure my cars after the policy with State Farm expired. I did sign up with them with the understanding that the new policy would not take effect until the day after the old policy expired. without any warning or notice, they drafted my account two days before they were supposed too which cause other problems. when I called hem about their mistake they blame me for the mistake never taking any responsibility for their mistake. After that situation, I told them I would have to reconsider if I wanted to insure my vehicles with there company. A few days late I revived a call from one of their employees, not the agent they my homeowner's policy was being canceled. I was in a state of shock. when I asked why I was told because someone had come by my house and saw the roof was in dis repairer and my trim needed painting. I then asked them if they did not realize that we had just had a hurricane in our area just a few days before I also advised they that had contacted a contractor and they had several homes ahead of me but they had promised me they would get to the job in a few days. I was told I had told the 17th of December. I contacted my contractor and told them what as happening and they can out and completed the roof work in one day. They came on the 17 of December I was told to fax them proof of the work so I faxed them a copy of the invoice showing the job was completed with the contact information of the contractor. The contractor advised he would be back to complete the painting of the trim within a week. After faxing the invoice to these people office They called me back and told me the same day 17, December that they had everything they need and I should not worry things are good. On 26, December I was on my way home from visiting my son and daughter for Christmas in Virginia when I received a call the day after Christmas telling me my Policy was canceled I asked to speak with the agent again The employee told me she would have him call me he never did. I then asked way she said the painting was not down. Keep in mind I told these people that the contractor would be finished the painting within a few days. She also said they need photographs of the work which they never said anything about photos before then. I was so upset I sad to the employee Merry Christmas with a mocking attitude at which time I hung up the phone. After thinking through all this I called them back. I asked when was my Policy canceled. The employee stated on 17 December. I was lost for words. I asked he way I was never told my Policy was canceled. She state we sent you a letter telling you. I asked her then why are you calling me to tell me that. I did receive a letter telling me the policy was canceled but that was yesterday 27, December 2016. So they never advised me I did not have an active policy from the 17th to December 27th. when left me in a very bad position. I will never do business with Geico ever again. After using The Gieco Insurance Company for over 10 years and having all perfect driving records they decided they will not insure my car which my daughter uses to go to an out of state College. In the past they had no problem when my two other children went to out of state schools. The company used to be family friendly, but has proven to be going in another direction. They may be alright for singles as their rates are fair, but if you have a family you should stay clear. They will insure you then cut it off and try to sell you a separate policy for your own car if your children use it. Do your research as there are much better options for family coverage. read more

I had a claim with them over a month ago due to a hit and run. I filed the claim, got my rental thought everything was gonna be great until I got the adjuster Mike Richard to check everything out and he basically rushed me to get my car to a body shop and said I had only a week to get it all done and things would be done in a week. Well i went with one of their body shops that they recommended and their authorized dealers and it was a big mistake, Mike couldn't authorize my rental any longer, the body shop was refusing to authorize it any longer, and the body shop never called me back about the status of my vehicle. It sat in the back disassembled for a week and nothing was done about it. So now enterprise charged my card because well I needed a vehicle to get to work and I couldnt estimate when they were going to be finished and the money I had saved for my deductible came out of my rental car payment. When I called to tell Geico I wasnt getting any information about my rental, etc I had a supervisor call me and she said that my adjuster Mike is the only one who could answer my questions and he could be reached at and gave them my phone number to call. 1/31/2013- My husband and I spoke with an agent from Geico today named Kristine Schaffer. She was a pleasure to speak to on the phone and was able to answer all of our questions. Given the same options as our current insurance provider, GMAC Company, we were surprised to found out that Geico was much cheaper. Given the great hospitality and cheaper rates, as of today, we have switched with Geico. We look forward to having Geico as our insurance provider. read more
