I spent over 9 hours on hold between Wednesday and Saturday trying to get a homeowners insurance quote. There were several phone calls made, and I was on hold anywhere from 20 minutes up to 3 hours. I thought maybe I was calling after hours, but after talking with an agent on the last call, I discovered their hours are 8:00 am until 11:00 pm seven days a week. I recently decided it was time to change car insurance. Although I had been with other companies in the past, I decided I should give GEICO a chance. I walked in, the front desk girl wasn't super friendly, and the rest of the staff didn't really look up to greet me. Albeit, I made the split second decision to continue walking to the agents desk about 20 feet in front of me. The building is less than aesthetic, but again, not a big deal to me. The agent turned out to be super friendly and extremely knowledgeable. With my quote in hand, I decided to go around town and see what other deals were out there. After obtaining 4 other quotes, GEICO was by far the cheapest for what I was getting, (and I was opting in for some solid coverage; I wasn't skimping). I only hesitate to give this office a 5/5 because the staff wasn't super friendly at first and the building could use a little love. That being said, I'm fine to overlook the less than stellar aesthetic because the insurance is so affordable. I'd rather pay cheaper rates and look at an older building. A lot of the other companies had beautiful offices, friendly staff, but the rates were laughably overpriced. All in all, I had a pretty good experience here. If you're a young person looking for affordable comprehensive insurance, then give these guys and gals a shot. read more

I had an accident a few years back with progressive and the entire thing was handled within a week HOWEVER. . . . I spent 2 hours trying to get hold of anyone at Geico at all. We had a hit and run and the other company has finally accepted full responsibility but im still fighting with the adjusted while the car is currently in the shop to get things fixed. Our damage adjuster was totally incompetent and had to be chased down just to return a call or get any information at all. Left messages with supervisors and STILL waiting for some sort of reply. I have canceled my car insurance with Geico and have not yet received my refund. Two and a half months have passed and I have called 3 times with no solution this issue. The first time I was told the check was sent (even though I never received it) and they voided the check and reissued a new check. That check never arrived. This third time it has once again been reissued. The way this issue has been handled is not new to me and the main reason I canceled my policy. After being a loyal customer with no payment issues on 4 cars and home insurance Geico stole unauthorized funds from my account causing my account to go into overdraft. Called them on a Monday when it showed pending and every day after that. I sent all supporting documentation each day and was told that it was their error and that it would be back in my account by end of day. I was told this everyday and even received a confirmation email from them stating it. This went on for 3 consecutive days while I continued to incur NSF fees that caused my bills to be rejected and causing alot of embarrassment. Not it is 8 days later and still not corrected. Called again to be told "check is in the mail'. I have since had to take out a payday loan to stop the bleeding in my account. My bank was contacted too and I made my claim with them, as well. This has caused more issues for my family than necessary if they just would have corrected their error in a quick and timely manner. After searching for her on Facebook with no luck, I called her bank. Of course knowing they wouldn't give me her phone # I thought they could give her a call and let her know where her stuff was. Noooope. They just insisted that I give them her card number so they could cancel it. Same with the credit cards.
