The first thing you'll notice as you enter is how creamy and smooth the gelato appears. The second thing that will be apparent will be how small the portions are in comparison to their associated prices. The cups range from small to jumbo, with the prices beginning at $3.50ish and ending at almost $6. However, don't be fooled as I was thinking that this was about to be a highway robbery. The kind man who runs the shop and also works behind the counter makes it his business to not just place the gelato into the cup but, instead, pack it into each cup and heap it on top. Therefore, don't worry, you definitely will get your money's worth. [Side note: with all sizes except the small you can get multiple flavors in the same cup.] The flavors all look amazing, however, some are better than others, in my opinion. My family and I tried the green apple (honesty, it tasted like a cleaning solution mixed with a tinge of alcohol), lemon (very delicious but very tart), coconut (my favorite), and cookies and cream (my second favorite if the lemon is out but it contains more cream than cookies). The flavors all appear fluffy and smooth but some are more icy than smooth. Overall, this place is worth the trip and your taste buds. Go and enjoy! COVID Note: The owner/worker wears a mask but does not make his patrons wear one. This gelato place is great. The man behind the counter (I think he runs the store) was friendly and pleasant. We came in just 15 minutes before the store closed and he didn't seem to mind. The small cup was pretty small but he filled it up to the top, so much so that it was hard to eat the gelato fast enough before it was melting over the sides of the cup. I'm pregnant and came here to try gelato ice cream because I have never tried it before and had a craving for something sweet. No greeting when walking in. Rude. I asked for a sample of the Oreos and cream and he only gave me a sample of the vanilla part, and gave me a very small sample, the sample spoons are small, and I got 1/4 of the sample he didn't scoop any cookies into the sample I got less than a spoonful not enough for me to even decide if I wanted the flavor or not. It was less than a dime size. I wish I would have taken a picture. I thought it was a joke. It made me think the employee was trying to be rude or stingy, I walked out immediately! I will not be back, first impressions are everything and the employee ruined that. Why be stingy when I'm spending money, and feeding for two? No wonder the store was empty/no customers. read more

We came after dinner for a treat for the kids. It was great to see that it was a mom and pop shop rather than something hipster. I don't see why people are saying it was expensive. Our 3 boys got a small each and we spent less than 12 bucks. The man really packed it full too. I guess I'm use to northern va prices. The best part was watching him take the scooper after each order and bring it to the sink to wash it. If your little one has allergies, they have sorbet too. read more

Previous reviews note the price to portion ratio, but I found the price to be fair considering what you are getting is exceptionally smooth rich and creamy gelato, which ingredient and time wise tale much more effort. If you're looking for an American sized dessert portion that is a meal in and of itself try Gary's Ice Cream. If you want a more savor sized dessert the cafe is great. read more

Shop is cute and clean and the gelato is displayed beautifully. Elderly man behind the counter was very pleasant and quick to serve me. If you don't know about gelato it is Italy's version of ice cream and it is one of my favorite treats. It is MUCH smaller and always more expensive then regular ice cream on every level (cup, spoon, sample, etc). I removed a star because their selection was smaller the normal and while they had candy and treats to purchase as well as the gelato- they are not Italian or even traditional American sweets so I thought that was slightly odd. Also the gentleman scoops mostly from the bottom so you don't always get the tasty treats on the top of the gelato. I will return. read more
