First, George said it couldn't be shipped. Later, he said it could be shipped for $200, claiming he already said that. We called to buy it. We weren't even trying to beat him down in price. George argued with us about buying it. He said he never heard of anyone buying a car without test driving it. People buy cars off the internet all the time. The listing said the car was in excellent shape and came with a 6 month extended warrantee.. Is this a good car? He said that it was 2 months ago. He couldn't say now. Why doesn't this guy want to take our money? George essentially said we couldn't trust him. He said it could only be purchased with a certified bank check - no bank transfer, no credit card. George said if we did this, we would send him the money first, no paperwork. After he gets the money from the certified check, then we buy the car. What stops him from just keeping our money? Our conversation with him was like being in the twilight zone. This was on Friday. On Monday, we had a friend who is a mechanic who lives in NJ go to the dealership, hoping we could get this done.
