This dealerships sales reminds me of the used car lots near the NAVY bases in the 1970 and 1980 . I am a 1976 year old Vietnam veteran so I have been swindled before , but recovered . With sale I was assured I would be buying a used vehicle that would be safe to drive and ready for my Disabled grandson an I be able to travel in on the road. I have found that it had 4 or more year old tires and battery . Then to make our travel bathroom usable {reason for purchase} it needs another $500 equipment accessories to make it usable . I have a situation with a General RV in Orange Park on Wells road. We've had our RV, A class Thor into them 8 different times to have the jacks worked on. So, we can put our slide out when we use our RV go camping. The jacks have to be down for the slide to open. The first time we took it over there to look at the Jack's was on November 26th 2025. We took the RV out this past weekend. May 1 to the 3rd. We've had it out several times before that and the Jack's really never did work properly. This time when we started the RV the control panel was blinking off and on and making a noise and a housing of the control panel was really loose. I have made several calls into the dealer, and they have never ever returned my telephone calls. I even called and left the manager several messages and to this day he still has not called me back. On Monday morning, May 4th, I called general RVs headquarters in Michigan. They said they would put a note in try to call the dealership, but they had 48 hours to respond back to them. As of today, May 8th, I still have not received a call. I called the headquarters yesterday which was Thursday several times, and they kept telling me every time I called that they have 48 hours to respond. I asked for the supervisor and they told me they didn't have one. We have spent thousands to try to get this resolved. They even put in a new control panel and still does not work. As a Tiffin-certified dealer and service center, I trusted that bringing my Sprinter van here was the right decision. That was clearly a mistake. I dropped my van off in July 2025 for warranty repairs to the water tank and solar system. What should have been straightforward warranty work dragged on for five months, with my van not ready until December 2025. During that entire time, General RV had full custody of the vehicle. Two days before my scheduled pickup, I was suddenly informed that my 13.5kWh house battery was "shot." There were no issues whatsoever with the battery prior to drop-off. In fact, General RV performed an intake electrical inspection and worked on the solar panels while it was in their possession. Now, after months under their control, I am being told the battery has failed -- and they are refusing to accept any responsibility. Let me be clear: the van went in with a fully functional power system. It is coming out with a failed battery after sitting in their care for seven months. Instead of standing behind their work, the service department is attempting to shift the cost of their negligence onto me. Not only have I lost the use of my van for the better part of a year, but I am now being asked to pay for damage that occurred while it was in their custody. This is unacceptable. If you value your RV, your time, and your money, I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. This service department has demonstrated a lack of accountability, poor communication, and a complete unwillingness to stand behind their work. Will be filing a claim with the BBB. read more

Here is an update on my review of July 5, 2025. I managed to damage my camper in the storage lot where it is kept. My bad - my fault. However, since this General RV is where I purchased the unit, I had to take it to them for repair. That was August 6, 2025. The insurance adjuster came the next day provided General with a repair estimate. So we wait. The insurance agent updates me weekly and I was told they are waiting on parts. I have nor received even one call from General. I finally became rather irate in early October - two months later. I called Grand Design to ask about the parts. They said the biggest part needed had to be manufactured. OK, I get it. But, two months? They said, no, only one month. General RV in Orange Park did not place the parts order until September 8 - ONE MONTH AFTER THE INSURANCE ESTIMATE!! I call and leave messages and get no response. No call backs, no emails. Folks, if you ever decide to purchase an RV, you need to stay far away from these folks. When (IF) I ever get my unit back, I'll make you a great deal on it. read more

We read the reviews but had no choice. Our refrigerator took a dive after only 3 months. The repairs took longer than we expected but it wasn't General's fault. A third party manufacturer caused the hassle. The staff had to jump through a bunch of hoops before the manufacturer would approve the replacement. They hunted for the replacement and got it there as quickly as they could. When all the parts were on hand, they swarmed our rig and finished the labor intensive job in one day. The staff stepped up and made the entire ordeal as painless as they could. We appreciate their effort. read more

Paid a $1000 deposit in Orange Park Fl and decided to not go through with the purchase due to an uneasy feeling about them. Turned out to be correct as we were originally told our deposit would be refunded in 3-4 days. After a week I emailed to inquire about it and was told we signed a non refundable paper. We absolutely knew we did not and asked for proof. They emailed a copy of a purchase agreement we absolutely never saw or signed!!! They forged my signature as well as my wife's! We were also told we had signed a contract with US Bank. Also a lie as we didn't find out we were approved until we left via a call. They refused to send a copy of that. We finally received our money back only after threatening legal action. I reported this to the Florida Attorney General's office via online. Hopefully they pursue it! Horrible!! Bought a brand new class c, we had a trade in that was packed from a 3 month vacation. We were told it would be ready by 1 pm. Finally got it by 5pm, it took us until after midnight to transfere our belongings. We slept in the parking lot, day 2. Day 3 ready to leave, range hood stopped working, service came ou fixed it. Leaving, on the road, 25 miles out tire light came on. Turn around back to rv dealer. Broken sensor from them installing belts on the tires which they can't fix here it had to go to ford. We were asked if we wanted to drive it to a ford dealer!!!! Are you kidding me!! Their tech snapped it and you want me to drive it to ford... so here we sit in the parking lot day 3! My husband and I have owned 6 RVs. We just recently purchased our 8th from General RV Jacksonville. So many times when purchasing our past RVs, the dealerships would not help you when things go wrong with your RV (and they will). You couldn't get the warranty repairs promised, some dealerships will not even return your calls. Not this one! From start to problems, they have been there. As well as Fleetwood. They both have stepped up and helped us with the problems that popped up after purchasing a brand new Fleetwood Flex. This was our first Fleetwood and would not purchase any other after seeing how they have responded quickly and efficiently. We've had Jayco (before and after sale to Thor), Entegra ​and Keystone with none standing behind their products as Fleetwood has. General RV Jacksonville's Service department (Kyle) called us immediately when finding out about the problem and offered help. Do not buy anything from this dealer. We bought a camper from them that was 4 years old. They assured us verbally that if anything was wrong with it the warranty company would take care of it. In less than 30 days we brought it back because of problems with the slider. They advised us we would have to pay for the repairs out of pocket. We contacted a repair shop and turned it into the warranty company who denied the claim. We paid for the repairs ourselves. A few months later there were problems with the opposite slider. Again we asked the repair shop to turn it into the warranty company, which they denied. The repairs again were paid out of our pocket. At this point we called Crimes against Seniors. General RV stated it was an 'as is' sale and they were not responsible. Now we took it to a dealer and this is what they found. The roof had several holes in it that were not repaired or not repaired properly. There had been a satellite dish on the roof that was not repaired properly and there were open holes. The skylight was cracked and the seal on it was not correctly repaired. There was mold that had developed in the ceiling due to the leaks in the roof. This damage occurred prior to our purchase. We relied on General RVs statement it was in good shape, but these damages occurred prior to our purchase. Being in our 70s we could climb up to look at the roof. There are several lawsuits against this location and several others for Deceptive Business Practices. They lie about the codition of the unit. They sold one couple the unit was new when it wasnt. Again, go elsewhere to purchase a camper or motor home.​ read more

I spent a recent afternoon here looking at Diesel Motor Coaches with Ed a Sales Associate, he admitted his full time job and expertise is selling trailers but he provided everything we needed to tour a number of Coaches we were interested in. This place has a lot of new and used inventory and a lot customers roaming the grounds,wow this one busy dealership so parking can be a challenge even though the parking area is quite expansive. We came here ready to purchase if the right unit was in stock and our trade and the new coach pricing was competitive. After spending several hours with Ed we found a few units that met our expectations so we went inside to looked at making a deal and that's when our enthusiasm turned to disappointment - I felt like I slipped in to a wormhole and traveled to a time a few decades earlier to a car dealership. It's clear the bullpen where the Sales Managers sit on their elevated platform controls the deals and the sale associates go back and forth trying to close the deal - can you initial here so I can show my manager you're serious, can I have a credit card to show my manager you're willing to place a deposit, what would it take to close the deal today yada yada yada finally I asked the questions they hate - "what's the bottom price for yours and what are you giving me for mine" questions that seemed impossible for them to answer. They quickly turned the conversation to what about financing, down payment and monthly payments and this and that and that and this I finally realized this wasn't going in the right direction and I had already accomplished what I came here for and that was to touch and feel my RV before I made a purchase. I agree with most there was no high pressure sales pitch just a bunch of old school haggling which I think is such a turnoff - they need to understand today's customer are more educated and we do our due diligence before walking on the lot or you should if you're making a purchase of this size. Well it seemed I knew much more about the motor-coaches then they did even though Ed made it clear he was a trailer guy. I hope he learned a lot during our visit I did my best to educate him on the details and operation of his inventory. I thought the sales manager was unreasonable and out of touch with his customer base and I had no interest playing good cop bad cop so we weren't able to negotiate on anything we were interested in. I understand the tactical side of this type of business model so I stood up and thanked them for their time and left. I by no means had a bad experience here it just wasn't going to happen for me. I was able to go to a competitor a few days later and close on a 2021 Diesel MotorCoach that we absolutely love and I feel like we established a long lasting relationship with this other dealership and I wasn't just the deal of the day - so my advice is never buy on emotion this should be a fun and exciting experience. They said they ordered the parts but after several months I called the manufacturer and found out that this did not happen. As soon as my RV is fixed I'm selling it. Purchased and paid for a brand new unit in October and before it was removed from the lot an engine light came on, 2 weeks later they offered our money back but we we're stupid enough to buy another 2025 the next weekend to only get it home and notice a chip in wind shield and broken stove. Sales manager would never return my call but service department got safelite to do a repair-but it cracked even more and the sales manager wouldn't approve replacement and told us we would need to make an insurance claim and get it done. GENERAL RV - ORANGE PARK, FL 2023 Thor Delano-Mercedes bought brand new on April 29, 2023 this is the list of things wrong with this brand new vehicle when I got it home the same day and they knew a week in advance of these issues: The left side Recliner would not close without being forced with a great deal of effort and when I say effort I mean slamming both my legs downward as hard as I could before it closed. - The Ladder was not lined up with holes for over cab bed. - The drawer at floor when you step up into bedroom, there was no latch and would come open very easily. - The Battery cover at the entry step, the lock was screwed up, looks like it wasn't locking correctly. - Auto Adjustable Levelers was broken. - Squeaky Floor - Beeping or error with the passenger side seatbelt goes off while driving down road. -The TVRemote had rust all in it when I checked the batteries. - Part missing on the exterior. Didn't move the RV until 5/20/2023 where I found out the following: Auto Adjustable Levelers broken, wouldn't even turn on. - Major Water leak in rear bedroom, came thru lights from roof. They had my vehicle from 5/26/2023 to 9/15/2023, 111 Days. I got my vehicle returned to me with the gas tank on Reserve (totally empty) and Theatre seats still broken now one sits up father than the other and doesn't go back all the way like other seat. - Never received Pictures from scans that show there is not mold from the leak in the roof, my guess is it showed mold and they are refusing to give me the pictures that prove it. - The removed the Pole for one of the tables and have not returned that which I can't use the table with out that piece. - Stains from leak on the 2 twin beds which should have been replaced. - The part that was missing on the exterior side, looks like it will fall off, not installed correctly. - New issue: GFI outlet in the Bathroom started popping won't reset. The issues don't seem to be stopping for this RV. I am now on my 3rd email to them about what was still wrong when it was returned Sept. 15th and NO ONE has bothered to reply or schedule to fix these issues. It is without a doubt, I say don't walk.. RUN from this Company. At this point I just want everything fixed so I can use the RV, as of now I have owned it for 6 months and can't use it at all. Mr. Chris Dietrich the General Manager of General RV has yet to return a call or email from all of this as he said he would. I am frustrated, very disappointed, and need answers now. How can you ever run a business this way. Please don't answer saying we have a lot of happy customers, because what I say to that is for every one happy there is 5 that are not... Adding to my review from yesterday. Was able to get my RV home where I can actually look at it from a distance on the side and they did not install my awning evenly. The arm they put on is about an inch and a half to low so now the awning is not level and does not roll in properly at the top. Purchased a brand new 2020 Winnebago Vita 24F from this dealership in August of 2020. The RV only had 1 ignition key, and one key for the side door of the home. It was missing a ton of keys, had damage to a decal in the back, had a cabinet that was damaged, etc. This is the RV we were set on, and the dealership gave us in writing promises to fix everything. They told me that I had to go to Mercedes with the RV to get 2 ignition keys made. I have it in writing from the date of sale and via email that if I went to get these keys made they would reimburse me. So I paid for the keys made and sent the receipt to the General RV office. Countless calls, emails, voicemails after waiting for about 8 months and still nothing. They acknowledged they received my receipt and keep telling me they're looking into it. How long does it take to read a receipt and send a check? Still getting no responses to calls or messages and barely any email responses. Issues are still there. Going to BBB next. read more

We were traveling through JAX and wanted to get some general maintenance done on our motor coach. They did a full point inspection (nothing found to repair), oil change, detailing etc. Our service advisor was Amanda and she did an amazing job. She was very helpful, communicative and even came in on her day off on the day we picked up to make sure we were happy with everything. Even further, there were no detailers available to clean the interior of our motor coach at the time we were there, so she did it herself! I stopped buying RVs or getting mine swrvoced there years ago due to poor service but honestly thought buying a battery would be easy. Jokes on me. We bought our Camper in 2016 from General RV in Jacksonville. I too was warned by several friends not to use them due to shotty warrantee work. We had the Camper 3 months and was at the Largest Tail Gate Party in Jacksonville (Florida Georgia college football Weekend) the Fridge went out. Called the service department to get help with the error code I was getting. (Keri) said nothing they could do I would have to bring it in for them to look at. Called my salesman who went to the service department Manager who told him to have me disconnect the battery wait 30 sec and re-connect it and see if that cleared the error message. (IT DID ) we were back up and running. Move forward 8 months I get in camper to prep for a weekend outing and I have a water leak on one of the slides Take it in to be looked at. One month over the year to date that we bought it no warrantee on the repair from either General or the MFG (Prime Time Lacross) I was Informed that it was my responsibility to inspect the seals every six months. I just spent 42 thousand dollars with these people and I get this as an answer. I pay and get the slide re-sealed (what choice do I have right) I mean they have my money and clearly don't give a shit about me or any future business I might give them. (It gets Better Folks.) Lets move forward 4 months I get in the camper and the same slide is leaking even worse than before I took it to them for the original repair. This time the water damage is so bad when I roll out the slide a roller rips up the vinyl floor in the kitchen. So back to General I go. This time I get The Service Manager involved and he sends a repair guy up to the roof he reached down and grabs the Calking repair rips it off the slide and says and I quote. (Looks like someone did a shitty sealing job boss) The look on the Service Managers face was priceless. This time they agree to repair the floor and slide seal at no cost. Boy I wish I was through cause my fingers are getting tired, Four months later and after many calls I finally get informed that the flooring in not available any more at Prime Time. General is going to get it local. two weeks later they say they bought it but is it too thick and will not work. they buy more and get it installed. Now keep in mind that they had to totally remove two slides tear out the bathroom in order to replace the vinyl. Finally Five months after I dropped the camper off they call me to come and get it. upon final inspection I find a hole in the wall by the kitchen slide and a huge dent in the stainless fridge. General patches the wall and orders a new door for the fridge but inform me that it could take a couple weeks to get the door would I take the camper home and they will call when the door arrives so I did. In the mean time we go camping and it starts raining not only is the slide leaking again but water is coming in thru the AC unit in the bedroom. the AC unit that I paid General to Install when we bought the Camper. I take it in and now I am being told the AC Seal is bad (WTH) I pay to replace it because again what choice do I have. BTW the AC door is still not in yet. Two months after ordering I call only to find that the door has been there for three weeks and no one in service knew it came in because the parts department doesn't always let the service department know parts come in. I get the door installed and you would think that would be the end of my problems its not. Less than a year later a slide motor goes out we bought Insurance but still had to pay 300 dollars for the repair. Moral of this story is when your friends give you advice you generally should take it. And General RV Service department sucks. read more

Preface: I am writng this review about 18 months after the purchase. I get it that most RV manufacturers are churning these units out as fast as they can assuming the dealers will catch the problems during the delivery inspection or hope the buyers don't notice until its too late. General RV's buying and financing is fine as others have noted, but its the delivery and service aspect that they are sorely lacking. I stated this to our sales rep very early, his comment was "yeah, but we are working on that." Apparently they still need alot of work. As GenRV was the only dealer in the area that sold the model we were looking for we decided to chance it. First mistake was closing the deal on the last day of the month. If you are buying a unit without add ons, ok. If you want things added by the dealer, ugh. No surprise, stuff gets hurried. We arrive at the dealership on time, get our VIP badges and wait an hour. The walk thru rep takes us our to the rig and proceeds to tell us how comfy her pets are in her RV. I'm here to inspect and verify operation and start asking the wrong questions, like does the generator work, or why does the exhaust fan not work? After a bit the reps have a heated conversation outside and we are told the rig is not ready yet. Looking back I remember them showing the lengthy post delivery inspection report and noting that the sheet looked like it was printed already filled out... Anyways after finally getting most options installed they wheeled to unit out to the parking lot to allow us to transfer our belongings from the old RV to the new one. As the deal had taken all day, its now 6PM, and the delivery drivers had all ready left . We opted to spend the first night in the RV there. They hooked up water and electric, and after asking again "does the generator work?" they put gas in it and got it to run. HELLO??? what about the PDI? Its getting late and a service manager promised repeatedly that they would send a tech out the next day to our site. As others have noted GenRV will say or promise anything to get you off the lot. Yeah. still waiting on that phone call. My advice is if they have the product you want you gotta be firm and make them deliver what you paid for. AND very importantly get every promise in writing. read more

When we went to take a look at it receptionist called salesman who reas us that we just needed to give them a little information before hand. We looked but we were not thrilled with it but our salesman Jason C told us that they could take $5000 off the price when we showed him another dealership that had a lower price. He sent us to Steven and said he could get us a better deal. Steven raved about our great credit and said VyStar (our bank) wasn't giving an recreational loan. That was a lie. He said that we needed to give them $500 just to be sure they pu a hold on the camper so they didn't sell it to someone else. We told him that my husband would get bonus $ in 2 wks we were going to use as a down payment. He than said he would send our info to 3 banks and he would call us in the morning. The whole time I'm asking about the monthly payment. The salesman had taken my husband's license and debit card for 45 minutes. Steven had them on his desk. He quickly dismissed us telling us he would call in the morning. We left not knowing if our loan was approved or anything on terms. My husband called at least 6 times over the next few days and was never called back. He went in person and was given a much higher price and a high interest rate for 17 years. When we said no to this and wanted our $500 back we were told by salesman and "managers" that they didn't have the capability to do that and when pressed said it had to go to corporate. My husband put into writing that we had no deal and wanted the $ back within the 3 days Fl Law states (cool off period). They refused and said they had discussed it and because they acted WITHOUT Malice they would not give us $500 back. They are professional scammers. We aren't the only ones. Sad to say they bend over backwards to get me to spend my hard earned money, however once the deal is done - It's see ya later, I don't have time to be bothered with you. If you buy from them MAKE VERY SURE YOU GET EVERYTHING THAT COMES WITH THE UNIT!!!!!!!!! I have spoken with my salesperson ED on 3 calls with only excuses and spoken with Craig Williamson (The Operations Mgr. ??) on 4/7/21 and told he would call me back that afternoon with a resolution - today is 4/29/21 and I'm still waiting for him to call. If I could give them a zero I definitely would. Before we picked up our NEW. camper we went in to look at it and saw that the front decal had been cab rashed/damaged by a driver bringing it back from the RV show. General RV said they would order a new one, well six months later, countless emails and numerous visits to them, it finally came in. We were lied to saying it was on order when in fact it wasn't. Then it finally came in and it was the wrong decal. They had to order another decal, finally it was in. Then it took 4 weeks to install the decal when it should have taken 2 hours, so our camper was there for a month. When I went to pick it up, the installation of the decal was misaligned. I said the heck with it, cause I'm done. Worst experience we have ever been through, all this for a decal. seriously! read more

Let me start by saying I have 0 RV buying experience, however I have bought and sold a lot of cars over the years so I took the same approach as I do with car buying. I knew the exact RV I wanted. I had already looked at it locally at a dealer closer to me. Also the RV I wanted would be brand new and they came equipped the exact same way so I was comparing apples to apples. With that info I contacted several dealers across the state that I knew had one in stock. First I emailed and if they did not respond to emails I would call to get their best out the door price. General RV gave me the best initial price, they of course tried to tack on some other fees and nonsense you should not pay for. However after very light negotiating (all over email) they agreed to sell it for the original price they quoted me without any added fees. Their price was by far the best one of any dealer I contacted and based on further research it was an overall great price. Once we agreed on a price the finance guy emailed me financing info, extended warranties etc. I told him not interested and I have my own financing with my credit union. Again all this was over email. With that out of the way we set a date to go pickup my RV and called them with a credit card for my deposit. If you email General RV regarding sales your email will be answered by an internet sales person in the corporate office. Not someone at this local store. Keep that in mind. I found the sales guy I was communicating with over email to be great. We got everything done over the course of one day emailing back and forth. We showed up on the day of the pickup, had our walkthrough. The guy who did the walkthrough was very nice and informative. They installed a hitch I had purchased and they tried to charge me more than what I had worked into the deal originally, however once I showed them the email between me and the sales person the corrected the charge. Overall it was a pretty painless experience and I got a great price on the RV I was looking for. read more

Bought my camper in august and picked it up in September. Sales person was great finace person was great but after that it went south from there.i have had several problems with the camper but was able to fix them myself that is to be expexted campers will have problems.but on our first trip in october the tv did not work and I have been trying to get them to replace it and i keep getting the run around.its now January and I still cant get them to replace it.i was warned buy other campers not to buy from them because of stuff like this but did not listen. And make sure the install your hitch properly mine was not even fastend to the truck but did not realize it because I have never owned a fifth wheel and went on two trips thank god no one was killed. read more
