My wife and I were full timers for 6 years in a 40' 5th wheel before buying another house. We've had 4 RV's over the last 30 years and decided we wanted to get back into it with something small and simple. We decided on a Jayco Jay Flight and contacted R.J. at Blue Compass RV in St Augustine. He was great to deal with. We reached an agreement to purchase the model via phone as we live 2 hrs away, but the night before we went to sign the papers, we saw another model we thought would better suit us. I told R.J. about it and he had those models side by side for us to compare when we arrived. We preferred the second model and spoke with Jared, the general manager regarding price. We negotiated what I felt was a fair deal and signed a sales agreement. Upon returning a few days later to do the walk-through of the trailer and sign off on the final paperwork, we met with Matt in financing. He explained everything clearly, answered all of our questions without hesitation and breezed us through the process. Even though we chose to buy one of the lower priced units they sell, they treated us as if we were buying a top of the line diesel pusher for hundreds of thousands of dollars more. They could not have been more friendly, accommodating or fair. No hard sell or being pushy. From the initial contact through the final signature, it was an absolute pleasure to deal with everyone we met there. We would not hesitate to purchase from them again. Bad experience.. An RV I really wanted was advertised at a great price. The sales guy AND manager told me that price was only available if I was financing. I was trying to pay cash so the price had gone up over $1500. I felt no reason I should go into debt, get insurance, and ding my perfect credit because they are bias against cash purchases. On 11/8/23, I bought a used travel trailer at Blue Compass in Lexington, South Carolina, my first camper. A month after buying it, when I was installing a brake controller, I discovered that the brakes don't work because the cable connecting the camper brakes to the wiring harness has been cut and carefully wrapped around a part of the trailer frame under the camper. I contacted Blue Compass and left four messages over the course of a week before my call was returned. The sales manager and service manager, neither of whom were present at the time of the sale, said that a camper would never leave the lot with a brake wire cut, so it happened after it left and offered these explanations for how this cut happened: (1) While I was driving from the dealer to my house something cut the wire and it wrapped itself around the frame. (2) Someone climbed the 6' privacy fence and locked gates in my backyard, crawled under the camper and vandalized it by cutting the wire and carefully wrapping it around the trailer frame. After I apologized for sounding frustrated (imagine that) the sales manager finally admitted that those stories were too ridiculous to take seriously and agreed to repair the camper but would not agree to do this at no cost (he said, "We'll take care of you"), despite the insistence that a 150 Point Checklist was completed guaranteeing at the camper was free of mechanical problems. I was never shown the checklist. I agreed to do this, but told the sales manager that I had learned that it is illegal to pull a 3000#+ camper without brakes in South Carolina, and I would be liable if there was an accident. He transferred me to the service manager to arrange a tow vehicle to bring it there. The service manager said that she would not do this because she did not want to assume the liability but if I wanted to take the risk I was welcome to do it. I told her this was the sales manager's idea, and I would need her to transfer me back to him to see where we went from there. She said he was now at lunch and he would call me back. He did not call back. I'm done with this place, and have found a local mechanic who will repair the brakes. My advice: DO NOT BUY FROM BLUE COMPASS. read more

This is the one in Eureka MO. I arranged financing with my bank before ever even looking at travel trailers. I found one on the website I liked. I called the dealership and let them know the one I wanted. After getting info from the dealership and giving it to the bank we found that the one on the website was labeled a 24 and the actual one was a 25. If we hadn't caught this there would have been all kinds of titling issues when we went to title it. We finalized the deal and arranged pickup. On inspection (at this point we hadn't even laid eyes on the trailer) we found that the cover for the power plug had broken off. I let them know and they assured me that they would get a replacement for it and send to me. 3 weeks later and numerous calls and we finally got it. There was always an excuse. It took 3 weeks to get the title as well. When I got the plug and removed the old one I found that it had been "repaired" already because there was grey tape stuffed (very badly might I add) behind it to attempt to hide it. We went to start prepping for a trip and found that the studs on the fridge were bent and the fridge didn't shut all the way. Instead of fighting and waiting weeks for a repair I fixed these on my own. We also were told that both the inside and the outdoor fridge were 12v. We put drinks in the outdoor fridge while it was plugged in but then came back the next day to a warm fridge after unplugging it. I checked and it is plugged into a 110 outlet. The reason we purchased one with solar is so we didn't have to worry about fridges or anything when boondocking. We made this the easiest possible deal for them. We called and said we want this one, showed up gave them a check and left. We didn't negotiate price, try to get free things or anything. Absolutely would not go back to them for anything. read more

On 10/22/24 my husband took our 2022 twilight camper to Blue Compass RV located at 5905 Veteran's Memorial Hwy. Scottsville, KY 42164. We have it winterized and de-winterized every year from this location. When my husband went to pay for services, we were charged 250% higher than the previous year for the exact same service. Year over year, it went from $148.39 to $424.56. My husband spoke to the service manager who was anything but polite about the situation. I think this is incomprehensible and that if the service department is expecting customers to pay this rate, they should be up front about the increases. I've already submitted a claim to the better business bureau and plan to put it on all my social media accounts until this gets remedied. read more

This place is the WORST. We purchased an RV from them and it was clear the toilet had been used. There was urine in the toilet and dried on the inside of the lid. We mentioned it to the salesman who assured us it would be taken care of. Got the unit home and nope. Now I am cleaning someone's pee off my RV. Do better people. read more

Before you buy here, look though the "one star" reviews an you'll see a recurring theme; they will keep your RV for MONTHS to make the smallest repairs under warranty, and most employee attitudes (Moe) are beyond contempt. Notice the reply from the manager, always the same, "call me if there's anything we can do for you", as if that wasn't tried many times already. My RV's been there for five months now. They say it's the warranty people, the warranty people say it's them, then it's trouble getting the parts ... it goes on and on, never a resolution, and you go without your RV. We had a legally binding signed contract and they stopped the sale due to "corporate said we were losing money" We were lied to for 8 days until the general manager let us know they would not be selling it to us. I traveled a few hours to purchase an airstream trailer used from a private party in San Marcos and was recommended I take it to Blue Compass for brakes and repacking the wheel bearings. I didn't have an appointment and they took me in anyway. They didn't know me from a load of coal but the whole team especially Joe and Julie really treated me like I was somebody special. There was so much about my trailer I didn't know and they helped me to understand some of the things that were no longer safe so I got a number of things upgraded. I feel so good now about all the safety issues which relieves a lot of stress because I have a trip planned to Texas for a couple months. This review is about the service department. If I could give zero stars, I would. The service manager Moe at the Saint Augustine location is terrible at his job. No sense of urgency or cares about customer satisfaction! He treats you like you're clueless about your own RV and is in no hurry to get any warranty work done. For the second time, I had an issue with the thermostat in my 2023 Jayco Redhawk. First time it was brought in on 11/14/23 and after 6 weeks, I was told there was a loose wire. It should not take six weeks to diagnose a loose wire. However it was more than just a loose wire since I Had to bring it in again on 7/12 with the same issue. I told Moe I needed this fixed asap as I had a camping trip planned for 8/13. That gave him one month to fix the issue. I let Moe know that once again, the A/C is not shutting off no matter how high the temperature is set on the thermostat and it needs to be replaced. He tries to tell me that it is most likely an issue because of the difference between the outside heat and indoor temperature, or some such nonsense. Explained to him that on my most recent camping trip, every RV around us had A/C that was kicking on and off and my thermostat apparently is not working. I heard nothing from him, so on 7/20 I contacted him and asked for a status. Moe responds that the ticket is on the tech's schedule and he should have an answer for me the following week. It's been 8 days and not been looked at yet?? The RV obviously sat there from 7/12 without being looked at. On 7/25 I asked for another status update and his response was "we have not figured it out yet. We're going back and forth with the a/c manufacturer to see if there are any issues with the A/C". Really?? On 8/1 I get a phone call from Moe saying it's the thermostat. (No kidding!) and he states that they're waiting for a new thermostat and don't know if it will be ready for our trip on 8/13. ONE MONTH to figure out the thermostat is bad when I told him this when I brought it in. Now I'll be camping again with a thermostat that doesn't work and A/C that has to be turned on and off manually throughout the day and night. No doubt in my mind, that because this is a warranty issue and they're not making any money on it that it is not a priority for him!! Bought the RV from there when it was RV One and had a great experience but because of the inept service department I will never go back to this location to purchase another RV. Okay there seems to be a lot of unresolved issues here going by the reviews posted, if you can wade through the emotions and reactiveness, it's clear by the mere fact that these guys are still in businesses that they must do somethings right to keep the lights on and the doors open. It's been my experience that people who are pissed off usually want to tell the world about their transgressions and those of us that have good experiences are less likely to share those positive vibes. I came here today to look at floor plans and inventory with no intentions to purchase today or maybe even in the very near future but that didn't seem to bother anyone here, they thanked us for visiting and gave us the freedom to roam the lot and look at anything we wanted too unescorted. This no pressure approach appeals to me whether or not I find what I'm looking for here. This dealership has a nice inventory and it seems like Jayco is their leading brand but by no means is this the only manufacturer represented here. After spending a considerable amount of time looking at what's being offered and looking at the pricing and specifications clearly displayed on each unit I found my way back to the showroom on my way out a salesman offered to bundle some brochures on any of the models we may have interest in - I really enjoyed my time here and the best part is no one ever asked my name... read more

In April 2024 my wife and I purchased a Class A RV (Forest River Georgetown) from the Blue Compass dealer in Prescott Arizona. This is my second Forest River product and 7th RV including 2 other Class A's over the past few decades. Dealers, of course, want to make money and RV's are prone to problems, but these Blue Compass people have clearly lost their moral compass. First you should be aware that any reviews you read about them were probably coerced. How it works is, they bribe you by telling you you can get $100 off their parts and merchandise if you write a review. They then stand and watch you write the review and you send it through them before it goes live on the internet. If you see a good review of them by me or anyone else it was probably the result fo blackmail. Once we drive away the Georgetown it immediately began to fall apart. It's now a few weeks later and among other things: the microwave died and had to be totally replaced, the main cabin slide broke a cable and ended up hanging out of the wall, we lost power on half of the coach, we have had flooding in two places inside the RV, the front dashboard literally flew up while I was driving obstructing my view, and (my personal favorite) the refrigerator LITERALLY FELL OUT OF THE WALL! Now this rig was "completely serviced top to bottom" according to Blue Compass. I have not even mentioned the little things like having to have the entire black water system flushed as there was so much buildup it started stinking so bad we couldn't sleep. I am writing this on the floor of the RV waiting to pay yet another repair person hundreds of dollars as he is working to replace the slide cable. I'm an experienced RVer and I know things go wrong and sometimes you get a lemon. Blue compass, however, clearly knew about at least some of the problems with this RV and sold it anyway. There is something nasty about this organization. I would never go near a Blue Compass dealer again and suggest you don't either! read more

Very impressed with their service! We were traveling from Oregon in our 37' Class A and needed our oil changed. Scheduling this while on the road is challenging. After calling many mobile services with no success we called RV One and they got us in that day, were waiting for us, took our rig immediately and was done in about an hour. BEWARE! This dealer will not only NOT honor the price listed on the internet and sticker, but they will also not allow a certified inspector to look at any unit. Instead they will offer an add on protection plan for an additional $3000.00. That way you will have to deal with what could have been preventable problems after you find them on the road, pay a deductible to them, and have your RV in their shop for weeks at a time. We took our JAYCO 5ths wheel 2021 North Point here for all kind of service. There were around 8 things need to get done. Some was cosmetic and some was serious like a leak water heater and so on. We bought the camper in NY but we live in FL at the time and when we got back from my husband work out of state. It has so many issue and need to be fix. Moe from service dept has been a great help. He did all the paperwork for the warranty and it took about 2 weeks to get it all done. We just been having so much problems with our camper from the day we purchase it. My sales experience was very pleasant however a month later when I had a problem it was a different story. I believe the people I spoke to were very rude. I was told you should have read your owners manual. I would have if I was given one. Basically I was told you are on your own and if you can get your rv back to us we can't make any promises. My daughter and son in law just purchased their first camper and they were treated excellent! We went searching for the model they wanted and found one at a great price. The salesman was a young, friendly, and honest guy named Merec McNeill. He was not pushy and was willing to work with us on price. When our kids arrived to pick up the unit, it was shined, had balloons, a welcome sign, and friendly staff their to surprise them. We highly recommend this dealership. read more

Some history before I get to today's experience... In December of 2016, we purchased our Lance 2285 from then Ocean Grove RV (Wayne Rodale, Sales). Wayne knew his product. The sales process was upfront, the prices competitive, and we negotiated a deal without surprises. in January 2017, we took possession of the Lance. Everything worked without issues. In late 2017, we took it back for a minor warranty issue - leaky fresh water connector- and it was replaced the same day. We never had any problems with Ocean Grove Sales or Service Departments. Fast forward to yesterday, July 26, 2021. The dealership is now owned by RV One. I was sceptical the would treat me as well as the OGRV family did. Anyway, I wanted some work done on my Lance so I made an appointment (with Mo). I also wanted the brakes, bearings, and seals checked, the bearings repacked & seals replaced. Mo said they'd have it done and ready for me in the next day or so. Given what I had heard about RV service departments in general and having no experience with RV One, I doubted the liklihood of what I was told. I expected it would take them a week or more to even get to the unit let alone complete the work I wanted done. Well...Mo called last night and told me it was ready! I picked it up today. I was wrong (Sorry, Mo!). I will definitely recommend and return to RV One when I need maintenance or repairs done. They are expensive (labor is $145/Hr), but their rapid turn around time saved us a camping trip. Well Done, Mo, Dave and the Service Department! Thank you! read more

The Blue Compass location in Lebanon TN is a complete disgrace. Bought a new 24 jayco pinnacle from them (not cheap) on 3.30.24 and not even a month in there was water pouring out of the kingpin along with other issues. Brought it back when they scheduled on 5.1.24 and was promised a new unit as the manager agreed that a new camper with water damage wasn't acceptable. Here we are 8.18.24 and still no resolve all the while the monthly payments have still been made plus other cost ensued from not having the unit for almost 4 months. When they are contacted you rarely get the people you need and never get a call back. On 7.29.24 after countless attempts a solution was given to us. They were warranty, insurance (not happening) or trade in but a number wasn't given, mind you this top of the line camper was in our possession for less than a month. GM and other manager stated that repairs were made but here we are 8.18.24 and still no call stating the camper was done. If you're in the market for a new camper find a different place to buy from, there are other reviews stating the same but somehow they are still in business. read more

This Service Center conducts the most thorough RV inspection ( free of charge if having repairs completed) that I've ever had on my 2008 Bounder. Very convenient to get too and the Staff personnel are courteous and friendly. Service Advisors and Techs are very knowledgeable. Very clean too. Management is a little negotiable on prices of some items as well. I recommend them over Camping World. read more

Beware!! First they ask for $1,000 before you can even test drive the unit. That should have been my warning. Then they rush you through the checkout of the unit before they have even explained how the unit works. At this point you have to place in the buy order items you want fixed. They say it is as is at this point. After that, they want a full payment before they will take you through the walk through that explains how everything works. After the walkthrough, when you discover several other items that require fixing, they say, too bad, you bought it as is. Things I discovered after the walk through and after I got it home: Propane starter on hot water heater doesn't work, Cruise controls on the steering wheel, but no cruise control on the unit. Missing panel cover on main circuit breaker box (safety issue). Broken smoke detector (safety issue). Missing cover on outside electrical outlet (safety issue). Toilet doesn't work. It will flush, but you cannot fill it up which would make for a very messy situation. In addition they charge you $695 prep fee which is supposed to cover washing the exterior, cleaning the interior including the basements and filling all fluid levels. I haven't even had it a week and you can see the dirt flowing off the roof which indicates the roof was not cleaned. The filter on the air conditioning had not been cleaned, and the floors are filthy. This $695 is pure profit with very little done to earn it. When told about these issues, their response is you bought it as is. Bottom line: Avoid this place at any cost. read more

We recently purchased a 2024 Jayco Jayflight 26BH at the Jacksonville, Florida RV show from a dealer called Blue Compass. We looked at the trailer at the show very carefully and discussed the backup camera that was installed on the unit. The salesman, Kevin told us it was Bluetooth and explained how it worked. We did all of the paperwork and set a date to conduct a walkthrough in Jacksonville, Florida. We were also told that the trailer would be delivered from Jacksonville, 45 minutes from our home. After calling the salesman 3 times and being told that the delivery would be the next Tuesday or Wednesday, we got a call saying that there had been a big mixup and we would have to go to St. Augustine, I hour 45 minutes for the walkthrough and the trailer would have to be delivered from there. We were not delighted by the inconvenience, but we had no choice but to agree. When we started the walk-through, we noticed the unit did not have a back-up camera and the insides of the cabinets contained anti-freeze and grease. We were told they would take care of the dirty cabinets (they didn't) and were referred back to the salesman to resolve the camera issue. The salesman told us that it was only PRE-WIRED for a camera; we would have to purchase a camera and pay them to install it. This was never disclosed to us. We decided we were done with their misrepresentations and opted to get the camera on our own. Today my husband commenced to install the camera, but did not find any wires. He called the dealer and the service manager told him sometimes they fall down, sometimes they aren't even there. "Try digging down in to see if you can find them." After many tries and much angst, my husband called back and got this respons:. "That's why we charge so much to install the cameras. The wires are impossible to find and lots of times they aren't even there. Make sure you don't pull up the wrong wires." I am positively astounded. Why would Jayco sell their product through such a dealer? This is our third and last Jayco, as you clearly can't believe the information you're given, they don't fulfill their promises and they offer zero help when you try to rectify their errors on your own. Our best friends are now looking for a unit so we can travel together. You can be sure we will not refer them to Blue Compass or Jayco. Extremely disappointing. read more

Have had a hard time obtaining recall service for my Jayco coach. After several calls I made a call to Jayco Inc who said my part had not been ordered I'll let you know how it ends. Fast forward. RV One never called me After over a month I called them. The service manager told me they had the wrong phone number in the system. BS! Just a way to try to cover their screw up. When I finally took my coach in for the recall, I had a couple other issues that I wanted addressed. An electrical issue and one is where the driver's seat has started to de laminate. The service rep (who was a jerk) said I would have to pay a $75 diagnostic fee for each item before they would call to see if it is covered. I ask what did the have to diagnose on a seat cover. The service rep immediately when they in the back and got the service manager who asked what my problem was. Will never go back read more

I purchased a 19 ft premier bullet and wanted to pay cash but they said we would get a lot of perks if we financed for at least 6 months. Was rushed through paper work and come to find out the perks cost $ 6000.00 and when we seen the cost when we got home we went back to disagree manager said no problem. James at St Augustine rvone said he canceled the 3 items we were charged and said we would get a check. A week later I called the businesses and they did not get a cancelation. I called Hames he said he canceled and we will have to wait for check the mean while I am getting welcome papers from the business that James said was canceled. Purchased our RV fall 2023 with understanding that they will store over winter. When we went to sign and finish paperwork, they had no idea where paperwork was and seemed like they had no idea we were even coming the date we agreed on for final paperwork and walk through Prior to them storing it we did our walk thru and found some issues with things (as expected) no RVs are perfect from factory. We were told before it gets put in storage everything will be fixed, well fast forward to April 24 and I tried to call to setup pickup multiple times. FINALLY get a call back and they said we can come pick it up, I asked about work that needed to be done over winter and they had no idea what needed to be done or if it was done. So, we find out that nothing was done but we decided to pick up anyways since we have trips coming up in May. We go to get camper and notice bubble on tire, so now I am changing tire on our NEW camper first time leaving lot. After hooking up I performed a tug test to find out the brakes DO NOT WORK. Now after screwing around for 2 hours, we can't even take camper home after we left work early to make it convenient for them. We expressed our concerns to GM Maria, and she claimed she will reach out to cooperate to see what kind of compensation will be done, and they will call us. Once again, NO call back. When we were considering buying this camper, they had no problem calling us daily, now that they have our $75,000, they don't care to help us out or get back to us. We still have warranty work that needs to be done eventually. We hesitated to buy from Blue Compass because they bought the Buffalo RV location who had a lawsuit against them for poor service, but we were assured the "bad eggs" were replaced and things were great.
