I didn't feel rushed during my appointment with Dr. Paul. He listened to all of my concerns and answered all of my questions. I've had other dentists who are quite rough during the cleaning. The worst dentist office I ever been to. They had me go to have tooth removed and when I went to have the tooth extracted they mentioned why it was being removed in the first place and not being treated and saved. This office seems to be all about money minus the actual kind of care and the treatment to help people get their dental care needs met they don't offer much else but waste your time and your insurance companies money for care that they don't even provide aside from the initial cleaning service they do cleaning services and they also provide the care that is not covered and expensive and unnecessary for patients, but aren't willing to actually give them real time and attention to fix the problems they are experiencing and don't care about saving teeth they care about charging the insurance companies even when they don't do any care They will clean your teeth however that's the extent of the care you will likely receive if you need any other kind of work done they don't care to help they will however book your cleaning within weeks and they don't have the time to book a filling thats 4 to 6 months out smh and they do offer the option of an extractions, unfortunately they aren't willing to provide that in their office they will likely send you elsewhere to have extractions provided , however thankfully for me the Dr whom was to do my extraction looked at my X-ray and was honest with me and asked why I was having my tooth removed and not getting any kind of saving treatment done on it and thankfully I switched my dentist to a different office and I still have that tooth that they would have had me get it extracted and it was not at that point and level of having it be extracted, but thankfully their are still good dentist out there that don't just care about the money only and they actually care for the people they bill without hesitation and sometimes without any actual care provided and i was hesitant to make this post but **if it saves someone else's time and unnecessary stress and pain it's worth the effort because this offices only interested in money minus the actual quality care involved they are not a good option for most people who need more than a cleaning kind of care but if you have the kind of teeth that only need cleanings and just the yearly cleanings than This is alright, an maybe to do unnecessary procedures that are expensive and not even covered by insurance companies because they aren't even necessary in the first place but if you can pay out of pocket for them then you got yourself a good chance at getting those needs met here, but If you need real care and want more than a polishing treatment and yearly cleaning kind of experience then go elsewhere . read more

Dr. Paul Ala does exceptional work, especially in restoration. He is very meticulous and is willing to take however much time is needed to do as close to a perfect job as possible. He takes a lot of caution to give you a pain free experience. Given what he has done for me and my wife I highly recommend this dentist. read more

My two year old granddaughter had her first dental appointment recently and it was not a good experience. Unfortunately, she was scared having never been to the dentist before and was a little difficult to examine, but the pediatric dentist was not very understanding and at the end of the visit told her she could not get a prize this time and that maybe the next visit she would behave more appropriately and would get a prize at that visit. I don't usually write non-food reviews, but I felt compelled to write about this dental office because my experience was so great this morning! I was seen by Dr. Paul Ala who was SO conscientious, kind and knowledgable. He was very thorough in answering the (many) questions that I had regarding my teeth. Also, he did a very thorough job of cleaning my teeth and did not rush it at all. In addition, the receptionist was also very helpful as I got lost trying to find the dental office. I brought our (3 year old) son here for a second opinion on his teeth. Dr. Ala was very thorough with her examination and explinations on his needs. Today was our third visit in as many years to Dr. Ala (the female dentist, NOT the male Dr. Ala), beginning when my daughter "Emma" was about 1.5 yrs old. The Pros: The waiting room is clean with toys to entertain the kids while you wait. Dr. Ala has some fun ways to introduce the children to the different tools she will be using. If your child loves going to the dentist or will tolerate the visit well, you may want to try this practice. She has a video of herself doing a routine exam on her website. The Cons: If you have a child who is afraid of the dentist or sensitive in general, then this is NOT the place for you. After waiting for nearly 25 minutes since Dr. Ala was running late, "Emma" was already getting upset by the time the appointment began. Once again, I had to forcibly hold down my screaming daughter on my lap while an assistant held her head so she was completely pinned down. Dr. Ala gave a full adult-like cleaning -- brushing, floss, that "scraper" for plaque and a fluoride brush at the end. My daughter's gums all bled from the exam, which Dr. Ala said was because we don't floss enough (my dentist didn't use that line on me until I was 35). "Emma's" pediatrician remarked only a few months ago that her teeth look very good. While not a dentist, he has been an excellent resource in all of my daughter's other health needs, so I value his opinion. My daughter was so scared and hysterical that she started to vomit when she sat up. Dr. Ala quickly snapped, "No, Emma!" and yelled at her not to vomit. The nice assistant grabbed a paper towel to catch the vomit and when I asked for more, Dr. Ala told me that I already had ONE, to which I replied that I needed another. While I tried to calm my daughter, Dr. Ala completed her chart notes and made no attempt to reassure "Emma" or check that she was okay. She didn't give her a toy from the toy chest in the corner either :( When consulting with my dentist, I was told that they would never do this kind of exam on a scared three year old because it simply isn't necessary. If my daughter wasn't shy or scared, the full exam would obviously be preferable. However, making a three year old petrified to go to the dentist -- and rightfully so -- isn't a good plan for long term dental health. I'm upset with myself that I gave Dr. Ala so many chances. My gut told me things weren't right with the first visit, yet I hoped it would get better as my daughter got older. This hasn't been the case at all and we will not be going back. read more

I received a letter in the mail from Dr. Ala, not on letterhead, that because I declined sealants, we would be better served at another dental office. She never reached out to me to ask my reasons why. I had just left a message with the receptionist. If you are looking for a dentist that will put your philosophies and needs first, and not push their agenda and beliefs on what they think is best for you or your children. I just returned from my first visit with Dr. Ala. One of my fillings fell out and my tooth was very sensitive. Dr. Ala was so kind and gentle and sensing my anxiety, immediately put me at ease. He was extremely thorough and explained everything he was doing in detail. His dental assistant was a sweetheart and the rest of the staff were professional, courteous and answered all my questions. My husband and I both go to Generations Dental and love their expertise. They have the most modern equipment, techniques, and pain management I have ever seen. On top of that, they discuss everything they are doing - and are thinking of doing - and make sure you are comfortable during your whole experience. I recommend them wholeheartedly. read more

Paisly, Regarding your recent Yelp review of our dental practice, the majority of your comments are not only exaggerated but outright fabricated. Clearly you have posted these comments with the intention of harming our practice. We are requesting that you remove your review, if you do not, you will leave us no choice but to litigate against you. Drs. Ala I went here today for the first and last time. This is somewhat long, but I think it's worth the read. Well, let me start by writing the positives which gained the two stars. 1) My teeth are clean 2)I found out I grind my teeth and need a mouth guard Ok, so, I went in today for a cleaning. Waited an hour which is somewhat understandable. Well not really, At this point I'm still positive about the whole situation. I have always gotten REALLY nervous at the dentist, and I had indicated so (along with my anxiety disorder), on the medical form. I saw Amy, and it was terrible before I even sat down. I had my mom come with me, as silly as that is, and she was extremely rude to her. Then, she starts explaining TO MY MOM how important it is for me to floss?? Weird, but, I'm still positive. My mom told her she can talk to me and we laughed, but Amy just snickered and went on to ask me these condescending rhetorical questions. "So what happens to a fruit when you leave it on the table?"...."Right, so what do you think happens to that same fruit on your teeth?" SHE WENT ON FOR 2 HOURS! I don't even smoke or drink soda! Two hours of her rambling on before she even looked at my teeth! I take very good care of my teeth but I should have never told her I forget to floss sometimes! She kept going on about how everyone should have their teeth until they die, and when I'm 50 I WILL get gum cancer. What is she, a fortune teller? Again, this was right after we reviewed my medical form and I told her how I panic at the dentist. Hearing "die" and "cancer" 12 times before doing something I was already dreading was HORRIBLE. At this point I'm in a complete panic. I wanted to get up and leave, but my panic attack and sweating didn't allow me to move a muscle. She finally gets into cleaning my teeth. Cool. Good, it's almost over. NOT. She then asked me if I ever had braces, I tell her yes, only the top when I was 11. She says "Do you have a picture of when you were 11? We always put them on the top and bottom." Funny, because her certificate doesn't mention being an orthodontist. She wouldn't drop it, and kept going on about how I must not know what I'm talking about. Amy was rude to the woman she seemed to be training the entire time, Amy was completely negative to everyone she spoke to for the 2.5 hours I wasted there today for a simple cleaning. especially my mother and I. To think I had considered bringing my children here...I'm so glad I tried it out for them first! Last but not least, she scraped my gums bare. I go to the dentist faithfully every 6 months, although i do have to admit this one had been a year, and they always compliment me on how nice my teeth are. I have NEVER had a dentist make my gums bleed like that. This was a few hours ago and they're still raw. I've lived all over Mass as well as out of out of state and this is the worst experience I've had at the dentist. a year ago my teeth were great and now I get badgered for 2 hours? I've had one cavity in my life woopdydoo. They would have gotten 4 stars if Amy let her assistant do the talking. Maybe that's why no one is seen on time. I don't know why all of these reviews say that this place is friendly. They must not have seen her. I do want to add that all of the other staff seemed really friendly.
