Tucked in the Chrysler building is the Dime Store restaurant, this is a small establishment with about 20-ish tables and bar seating. Entrance is through the Chrysler building. I must mention there is ample street or structure parking in the area. Dine Store is casual feels with BIG flavors! Plus the Staff were friendly and welcoming. At our table, we started with Chai Lattes. They offer milk alternatives-Yaay! The Chai was good sprinkled with cinnamon and steaming hot. It could have used a bit more chai, which I'm sure they would have supplied but it was good that I sipped away. To note, they do offer cocktails and beers, as not all brunch places do. We tried the Mushroom and Goat cheese Omelette and a Build your Own omelette. Our table was pleased as the omelettes may appear 'small' but don't let that fool you, they were packed with flavor. Also, the dishes were made to order. The cubed potatoes were delicious along with the Zingerman's Toast with strawberry jam. Oh yes, we also got a side of the chicken sausage and no disappointments. Everything was cooked to perfection. I must point out that the ingredients were fresh, we could taste the difference with the farm to table ingredients and the potatoes and omelettes were not greasy at all! Can't wait to visit again-recommended!

Went to ask for cream, waited another 8 minutes while the girl who said she would bring it stood at the counter appearing to be playing on her phone or otherwise. Food delivered to our group all except one meal, waited another 10 minutes plus for the last meal... and cutlery because although the diner was not fully seated, the cutlery was "in the dishwasher" while our food got cold and the kids ate with their hands. No refills on coffee were offered, no check in on the quality of our meals. Home fries despite being requested for them to be grilled with onions were deep fried with onion tossed on top. Attempted to charge me for a side of sausage when the kids meal comes with sausage. Was informed we had to leave (an hour and a half after being there) and waitress did not ask if we needed boxes, again I have to stress she did not check on us during consumption of our meal I had to go and ask for a box. Extreme anxiety filled experience. Definitely not an "old school diner" feel even though the decor and name says otherwise. Do better for others as we will not be back!

It was $11.95 for 2 pieces of halibut and chips. I went with my friend and WOW! We didn't expect the diner to be homey since it was in the CHMA building. When you think medical, you think an average cafeteria of the sort. Well, that's what I think. Or, thought actually. The golden yellow walls with the blue trim on the ceiling was a breath of fresh air after looking at the plain old white. My friend and I were waiting for an open table and we watched how friendly the staff was. Finally, we were seated by a very friendly lady and a boy who looked like he was barely in high school was our waiter. Oh my goodness! He was polite, friendly, and was a very good waiter! Way better than some of the waiters I've encountered (and I eat in restaurants a lot). My friend and I both ordered the halibut dinner and while we waited we looked around some more. We listened to conversations and realized that a lot of the customers were family and friends of the staff. There was even a little girl selling baked goods and donating the money she made to the diner. My friend and I were very impressed by the family feel to this diner. Now, the fish? It was fantastic! The breading was great, the fish was cooked beautifully and flaked wonderfully! The chips (fries), I liked them because they weren't soggy, over-salted, burnt, etc. They were very tasty! My friend likes her fries crunchy, but she thought they were alright. We didn't order anything else because only fish was on the menu for the Good Friday promotion but I'd definitely come there again! Note: I managed to talk to a staff member and found out they were sold out of their halibut (160) around 6 p.m. Their fish is really good!

We get there around 9:30 - 10:00am, the place wasn't busy at all, and we seated ourselves. Greeted by the waitress taking our drink orders and bringing us menus. My mom and I ordered the classic eggs and bacon classic breakfast with toast & home fries and my dad ordered the peameal bacon breakfast with toast & home fries as well. We didn't wait long at all as our food came right out about after 10 to 15 minutes. It was hot and delicious and the bacon was cooked just right; the home fries were tasty, the toast was buttered and the coffee was hot. I prefer my eggs sunny side up, and they were cooked perfectly so I can dip my toast into the yolk. What a wonderful place, I can't wait to come back and try a few other items they had on the menu with some friends. Wonderful staff working there, making the experience that much better. Just a side note, there is no parking lot, just street parking, which is fine, we got a spot right outside around when we went. Overall a great diner experience, restaurant like these that make me keep wanting to come back to get that local feel.
