My wife and I had lunch there on 10 May. Went there on advice of the desk clerk at the Best Western. I had the baby back ribs, sweet potato and slaw. My wife took a great leap of faith and ordered the crab burger. The ribs were like I thought they wold be, tender meaty with a good house sauce. Sweet potato was outstanding. The real surprise was the crab burger. Being from New Orleans we knew crab cakes. My wife said this was the best she had even counting those at the beach. Deep fried crispy outside, meaty and juicy inside and not over powered by green pepper or celery. If you find yourself in Jonesville stop in for a meal. Cute little place. Stopped in because we were headed north and didn't want to eat at 10p in Virginia. We're seated right away and our waiter can fast. I had the she crab soup and it was the best I have had anywhere, full of crab which was awesome. My husband had the potato, also good. My son made the mistake of the steak shrimp and chicken fajitas, not that they were bad but huge. Full of flavor though and nice tender steak. They had a good wine and extensive beer list. Desserts look like they would have been good. Definitely would recommend and go back when passing though. read more

Traveling south on 81 & 77-not much to choose from leaving VA and into NC-stumbled upon Generations and am so glad we didn't settle for fast food earlier. There's not much to the restaurant but the food was outstanding. Fajitas were very tasty and the portion was large. Will mark this on the map as a place to come again when passing through. read more

Food was really good. Had the pork chops with brussel sprouts and asparagus. Good selection of choices and not just burgers and fries. Service was very good also. Place is small, so it probably gets busy ar peak times. Also like the music choice, good ambienent music and not too loud. read more

Stopped in for a bite after a long day of wine tasting on vacation. Definitely not disappointed. I ordered the bb-q plate and my husband got the shrimp.The server was a fantastic lady that met our needs, yet gave us space, just what we needed. We just finished the last of the leftovers tonight. Got a take out order and price was way higher then stated on menu. Well come to find out they charge for take out boxes and now charge if you do not use cash!!! Really?? Then when I opened the take out order at work some of the order was missing. When I called the restaurant they said no that's not what you ordered. I know what I ordered! This place exceeded our expectations. Family run place and the servers are awesome!!! They want to be there and treat you like family. Had the nachos to start and they make their own chips and the chili was perfectly spiced. The jalapeños gave it a nice kick too. As an out of towner, it was obvious driving through jonesville that this is the favorite spot for locals. We popped in after a day of driving and were blown away by the food. The wings are cooked perfectly and sauced so delicately. The salads were healthy and varied, and the house made Chipotle ranch was awesome. Our steaks were a bit overcooked, but our server took care of it immediately and comped our drinks for the trouble. Excellent food, superb service, and a fun local atmosphere. The salmon was just delicious and my fella had a steak he said hit the spot! He's a little particular cuz he likes it "Pittsburg" but Generations did the job! After a long day of driving, we stopped in Elkin for the night. Found Generations through a web search, and we are so glad we decided to have dinner there last night. It was simply great. No pretensions, nothing fancy, just good food. I had the crab cakes with a side of delicious collard greens and Brussels sprouts. My husband inhaled a delicious rack of ribs. Beer and wine are available and inexpensive. It was very busy and the wait staff was stretched, but they were very friendly and gracious. All in all, we left stuffed and happy. Ok, I had high expectations coming here based on the other reviews of this place. It meet expectations and then some. I had a group of eight tonight and they were busy and we got right in. The cheesy enchilada soup is very good. We ordered 3 of the filet-ribeye steak burgers and to put it bluntly they are awesome. The BBQ chicken pizza really surprised me and reading the reviews on the crust of the pizza, they are spot on. A very good pizza. My friend ordered the salmon and before I could ask for a bite it was gone. He said it was one of the best salmon dishes he's had in a long time. His wife ordered the the pork chopes and they were slightly overcooked but good. This is a must go to place if you are ever in the area, you will not be disappointed. read more

Excellent! On our way home from Orlando, stopped for a bite. So worth the stop. Filet/Ribeye Burger was the bomb.com - in house made french fries yum and more yum. Being from Western New York, we like to experience the local cuisine. We tried to go to 222 Public House. It looks like a great place, but, alas, it was closed. We then decided to give "Generations" a try. Initially, you would think "greasy spoon" and you might not be far from wrong. However . . . give it a try. Even though we were there at 7:00 pm on a Wednesday night, the place was very busy and people kept coming in all the time we were there. The Hushpuppies with cinnamon butter are good, but best left for breakfast or as a dessert - very good. Hushpuppies are fried dough, and of course, French fries are deep fried, but N0 greasy taste or feel. The chef did and excellent job frying these, which not a lot a chefs in smaller restaurants can do. The hamburger I had was also very good. The place could use updating but not the food. Ate at Generations this weekend and had the cauliflower steak with grilled asparagus and red skinned potatoes. The cauliflower steak had a good helping of guacamole on it. It was the best meal I have had at a restaurant in a long time. Thank you for cooking good vegetarian food. I mostly have to eat a salad when I eat out because restaurants don't cater to vegetarians a lot. Your food is awesome! Yelp has never let us down! We had visited Stone Mountain Park and were looking for some good local food. I search Yelp and found this wonderful family restaurant! The sweet tea was refreshing. We both got a vegetable plate and for $8.00 we got a meat and THREE vegetables! It tasted like my grandmothers kitchen. Excellent food and service! We will return one evening and try the steaks! Only a little over a mile from I-77 this small storefront restaurant hit the spot with something different than the usual chain restaurant fare. Sunday they offer a choice of meats and vegetables for one price. We had the crab cake. It was very good. Veggies were a fair portion and well cooked. We will keep Generations in mind on our next trip south on 77. read more

Great place for a great meal. Fantastic double house salad is best in the Piedmont. Always fresh, diverse lettuce, lots of tomatoes, onions, olives, bell peppers with truly delicious homemade house dressing. Filet Mignon and Sirloin steaks are always cooked to perfection. Daily specials (ribs, seafood, pork) are so tempting is makes it near impossible choose. We were passing through and stopped by for a quick bite before getting back on the interstate. Small diner that has a family owned feeling. The staff is very friendly, we were seated quickly (4:30 on a Tuesday) since there was only one other couple in the restaurant. The food came out fast and was great tasting but the price was rather high...$30 with tip! We had water for drinks, a burger, a wrap, fries and hush puppies. For the burger you get to choose 6 free toppings and then each additional one is $1, ketchup and mayo are considered toppings. Overpriced in my opinion but the fast and friendly service made up for it. read more
