Back at the hotel we opened the takeout containers and water from the turnip greens was spilled all over the chicken which was then kind of soggy. We usually stop here when we stay near by. Another great dinner and service. Came here for dinner and tried their new special: herb roasted chicken, a moist, tender and fantastic tasting half chicken with two sides( I picked broccoli and dumplings). Hubby got the Cajun shrimp skillet meal, tasty shrimp with rice and coleslaw, and a delicious Parmesan bread. I tried their new special new wild berry iced tea. Very good, not overly sweet, and I had 3 glasses. Jonathan was an excellent server, friendly and attentive. Thanks to Riley and Lorena for the last tea refill. My family has been coming here for more than 20 years - but my lord has it gone down hill. We tried to go tonight (7/24/26 9:00pm), being one of the only few locations open until 11pm. The older lady with dark hair who works in the front store portion, completely ignored us. She watched us stand at the hostess stand for 15 minutes waiting for a table. We were never acknowledged or spoken to at all. She continued to gossip with her coworker while maintaining eye contact with me. We were walked by 4 separate times by who I assume was the manager on duty, wearing a mic & ear piece. If you like to be acknowledged, and receive any type of service at all - go somewhere else. read more

Great to finally get to have a meal at Cracker Barrel, as I'm usually just visiting for the overnight parking! My wife and I stopped in, arriving at around 7pm. Warmly welcomed at the hostess stand and brought to a table immediately. Our waitress stopped by for drink orders and when she returned, we placed dinner orders. Meatloaf with broccoli and mac & cheese for me. French Toast for my wife. Yep, she likes breakfast for dinner! Food did not take long at all, served as ordered and with decent sized portions. After dinner, clean restrooms and then we retired to the RV for the night. Yes, Cracker Barrel allows overnight parking at their restaurants and that's pretty darned awesome. Came for the first time on a Thursday evening after a long drive to grab some dinner and it was not busy. I know this franchise don't have the best reputation, but I had great service and felt comfortable. They have a nice home country ambiance. For dinner I had the Tips, Tenders n' Shrimp Platter with Mac and fries. Everything on my plate tasted really good. The tips were very flavorful and not under seasoned. Big portions as well. We would normally drive on by, but this particular Cracker Barrel was next to our hotel for the night, as we rolled in at 830pm. Thus, convenience with limited options for the win. The food is consistently just like home... by which I mean room temp - because I'm always too busy tending to other details to enjoy my hot food while it's hot. You should already know this going in tho. That said, it also wouldn't save you much to cook the dishes at home; prices are beyond reasonable. We ordered a water & a lemonade while we looked over the menu. My lemonade was refilled when they swung back by for the food order. She started off by listing the items they were out of. It was after 8pm & they close at 9pm, so there were quite a few to remember & she remembered them all. Impressive & much appreciated. I hate when we order only to discover we need to go back to the drawing board, with the pressure on aaaannnndd we end up ordering some random, vile oddity. Food came out fast & lukewarm, with another refill. It was as expected & would normally stick a solid 3 stars - no more, no less... enter Christy & refill #3... my cup was never empty. Factor in that every other staff person we encountered had a smile plastered on & gave some sort of warm greeting... even at closing time. Well, that is definitely ABOVE average! I have never been to a 'bad' Cracker Barrel. I like having the option of grilled meats and being able to have vegetables when on the road, so Cracker Barrel usually fits the bill. When traveling north on 77, this location is extremely easy to get in and out of. There are no turns; you go straight at the light to get to it, and then straight at the light to get back on the interstate. It was decorated in normal Cracker Barrel style. We were seated quickly, had our order taken, and everything brought quickly. Our drinks were filled often as well. I had the lemon pepper grilled rainbow trout, which was delicious! My friend had a veggie plate and my father had fried shrimp. Everyone enjoyed the food. It was probably the fastest Cracker Barrel stop I have ever made. read more

Stopped here for dinner on Valentine's Day and had a great experience. We were seated quickly by the hostess and our waitress came out immediately to inform us of the specials and get our drink orders. She was very attentive and came back quickly with our drinks and to take our food orders. Food- also came out in a short amount of time and we both enjoyed our meals. I ordered from the healthy part of the menu (dishes less than 700 calories) and had an amazing meal! I chose the Apple Cider BBQ Chicken Breast with a side of green beans and cheese grits. I LOVED the chicken, very flavorful! It was grilled and smoky, topped with an apple cider BBQ sauce and an apple-cranberry chutney- very flavorful! The green beans and grits were good too, and I felt stuffed at the end of the meal. At the end of our meal, our waitress came by with candy for us (it was Valentine's Day!)- so sweet! Went with my grandson yesterday and, of course, caved and bought him a toy fan with lights that cost 8.99. It lasted 2 hours, put new batteries in, and still just the fan no more lights. Called to see if they would replace and was told it was a food item. Seriously!!!! NOT MUCH CUSTOMER SERVICE THERE. It's not about the money. I can buy him another, and it's the principle. There is an ample choice of sides that we put together as a dish that are not mainly meat. The food ws fresh, not dry and served fast. The server was great and attentive. The drinks came out soon after and our waitress answered our questions and took our food orders. Our orders arrived in a reasonable time and were accurate. We enjoyed the food but would have preferred the pancakes thicker and cooked slightly less (since they were crunchy rather than soft and fluffy). The flavor of the blueberry pancakes was great and the syrup was delicious. The gift shop is very fun to walk through and they have a variety of items for sale. We visit the Jonesville North Carolina location fairly regular, and I've always had good service and the food is always what you expect, I don't however suggest having them cater, we did that for Thanksgiving, to the tune of about $450, and it was terrible, pretty much everything, we still go there, but we will find another restaurant for the next family gathering read more

We ordered the Sampler to share. The kitchen was having issues, but the waitress jumped in with possible solutions. We'd ordered one loaded sweet potato as a side and she brought us two, for our trouble. I don't know if we were really hungry, or they were just that good, but we were in heaven! Then we got options instead of our initial order and my husband had the roast beef and I got the meatloaf. I also had corn and the hash brown tator tots. Melissa, our waitress, was really quick on her feet and helpful. She apologized, but didn't go overboard. I ate so much with the potato and the corn that I ended up taking the meatloaf and the tator tots home. The store is also fantastic and had Christmas things on clearance. Stopped at this Cracker Barrel while traveling up Highway 77 from Charolette. If you are traveling through the area it is very easy to jump on and off the highway, as the driveway is just across the street from the end of the on and off ramps. The staff here was very pleasant and helpful. The hostess greeted us with a friendly smile, asked if we were ok sitting by the fire place and showed us to our table quickly. Our waitress was very friendly and answered a number of questions for our table, helping us with some special requests that we had at the table. The food came out quickly and was just what we ordered. I had the country fried shrimp and was very happy with the quantity and the quality of the food. For my sides I always go with the dumplings and the hash brown casserole which are my two favorites. We had a very nice lunch and were back on the highway in no time. read more

Party of 10 at 8 a.m. We made reservations. They were not busy at all. The 2 waitresses were pissed off from the minute we sat down. All orders of blueberry pancakes had an average of 12 blueberries right in the center of the pancake. One pancake had 6 blueberries, yes 6! The pecan pancakes were basically the same. Eggs were way overcooked and COLD. Who wants cold eggs? They shorted us 1 piece of bacon per order. Waitresses seemed even more angry when we asked for coffee refills. Never brought more coffee. We spoke with the manager and she said "let me get you some more bacon". No thanks! We will go somewhere else next time. read more
