I recently began working in the Yadkinville area and my wife and I are continuing our traditional Friday afternoon lunch. We decided to stop in about 11:45am on Friday after my wife had done some Yelp research to become familiar with the offerings in the area. Jim's Grill feels like a hidden gem but I'm confident it is not unfamiliar to those who live/work in Yadkinville. Jim's has the feel of a small town café and while it was fairly busy when we arrived we were able to find a table easily. We grabbed menus at the counter and took a seat. Our waitress stopped in and took our drink order and we looked over the menu. I decided to have the cheesesteak special with tater tots while my wife chose the chicken tenders, tater tots, green beans and hush puppies. Our orders arrived in a timely manner and looked great. My wife especially enjoyed the chicken tenders, green beans and hush puppies. We both enjoyed our meals and it was getting really busy by the time we left. We noticed when we left that they are open Sunday-Friday from 11am to 8pm. We both felt that Jim's provides everything you look for in a good lunch, friendly service, clean environment, yummy food and affordable prices. We would definitely recommend to others!

I had noticed some nice reviews for this little place, so we took a chance and headed up there. There have been some changes, and the menu is much more narrow, and certain entrees are available only on certain days, and the Fried Chicken (the main reason for the visit) is served up only on Sunday. We ordered the 2 daily specials for Friday, Chicken Pot Pie and Fried Catfish, and of course I added a Chili Dog since the place was new to us. The food was out rather quickly, and for the most part was very ordinary. The Chicken Pot Pie was a strange consistency, very thick, stew like, with no vegetable being discernible in the mixture. The accompanying Pintos and Green Beans were obviously canned, and under seasoned. The Fried Catfish was good, but limited to that, as were the Slaw and Hush Puppies, while the French Fries were awful. The Hot Dog was nice, with a flavorful chili, though there wasn't much of it. Not enough here to bring us back.

The double hamburger & fried chicken tenders both tasted delicious! Plus, the tater-tots & French fries came out crispy & warm too. It's a nice, quiet local restaurant. Rated 4/5 because I saw several large flies buzzing in the restaurant around the booth where my friend & I sat; it seemed a little bit unsanitary which bothered me, but eating at Jim's Grill proved a positive experience overall.

Just an old fashioned mom & pop /meat & 3 with good food just like you remember. Veggies are really good and the folks inside are really friendly. They have different specials every day so call and see what's on for dinner!

I believe it is normal to ponder your own mortality from time to time. After perusing the menu, I looked out the window, and my gaze fell upon a local funeral parlor. This happened at the exact moment that my server walked up and suggested the double cheeseburger. I looked at her, back to the funeral home, and back at the menu. I chose the grilled chicken breast and steamed veggies. I'm kidding. But I forewent the double cheeseburger and stuck with a single. It was a tasty burger all around. The fries were excellent, and the sweet tea was very good. The servers were friendly. Jim's is a simple little place with a lot of history, having opened in the 40s. They also have home made country dishes. I'm not sure Jim's is worth a special trip, but if you're north of Yadkinville and hungry, it's worth a stop.

Best country cooking I have ever eat. Pork chops super great. All of the food is home cooked. The sandwichs are good too.

They offer tons of different daily specials as well as everyday menu items. We went on a Friday afternoon which is one of there busiest nights due to it being the night they serve seafood (which was amazing by the way!) I ordered the Fried oysters and they were absolutely delicious, my mom got fried fish and she loved it. The service here is always quick and wonderful as well, and the staff here are always so nice!!

I walked in with my brother and the cashier said hello, but didn't tell us to sit down or to wait for her so we just stood awkwardly until we received direction. About 5 mins later, she finished with the customer checking out, and told us we could just go sit anywhere. There are no menus passed out, there are just specials written on a chalkboard. Apparently, there are other items available because I witnessed people ordering them, but I didn't see any paper menus, so I felt like I had to order from the specials. The Friday special was beef tips. Not something I'd normally go for, I'm not sure if I've ever even tried them before. Our waitress asked how I wanted them cooked so I said medium rare. They came with a choice of mushroom gravy or peppers and onions. We both chose mushroom gravy. Our food was taking a while to come out. Long enough to wonder if we were forgotten, as we watched other patrons come and go and pickup orders going out the door. She eventually came back and informed us that they were out of mushroom gravy, but we could do peppers and onions instead. We said that was fine. A few more minutes went by and they finally brought our food out. No peppers or onions. The beef tips definitely were not med-or med rare, but they were still good and most of the pieces were tender, although they were all different sizes so some were overcooked. Still a great flavor to them and the sides were yummy. Our waitress came back to say they were working on the peppers and onions. By the time she came back the second time, we'd finished eating our food. She apologized that no one brought them out to us. Oh well. The food was good enough that I'd come back, but be aware you might be waiting for a while.
