Unfortunately, the visible black cord that was on the side of mailbox looked increasingly tacky each time I looked at it. My husband and I racked our brains on ways we could hide/camouflage the cord and we finally decided the best way would be to dig out the mortar between stones and hide the cord that way, running it to the back of the mailbox . I reached out to Mark with photos of what we were dealing with and how we thought we could fix and Mark made it happen, even working us into his busy schedule. My advice for anyone looking at Pelleco:…read more 1. During your walk through, check to see if the design ideas are being written down by the contractor. 2. Do not let construction start until you have your approved design plans / drawings in hand and have personally inspected cabinets (and other elements) in-person prior to installation. 3. Check to insure that sub-contractors are licensed. 4. Be aware that YOU need to contact inspectors to inspect the work, Pelleco will not do that for you. 5. Safety items: Tile floors can contain cancer causing materials. You need to ensure your home is ventilated with an industrial fan during demolition. 6. A few other notes: A) Pelleco does not use a dumpster. Your home is the dumpster, until they can pick up the garbage. B) A portable outhouse will not be provided by Pelleco. C) You will have to inspect the work and notify Pelleco if something is done incorrectly or missed completely--there is very little inspection of work completed. D) Floors will not be leveled unless you specifically require that before the project begins. E. Workmanship requirements, as listed in ROC are unknown by the contractor and will not be managed to ensure a high-quality installation. F. Pelleco told me repeatedly that I expected perfection. I didn't expect perfection, but I did expect the work to be done correctly. I think anyone can see, from the attached photos, that this job was far from perfect. G. Expect to be asked for payment prior to the completion of each phase and the completion of the work overall. Don't fall for this as it will leave you with little leverage to ensure your job is completed and completed correctly. Our job was not completed and warranty items were left to me to repair. Just in case the contractor responds with "changes were made". Every change was done in writing and approved prior to installation. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. When we first moved in we had a few minor repairs that needed to be done asap and he fit us in his busy schedule and did excellent work. We have had him do everything from exhaust fan replacement, removing carpet in a bathroom and replacing it with flooring. He replaced 2 toilets, repaired a hanging rain gutter and painted stair railings. He has replaced a side of our deck that was damaged and changed the design to match the rest of the deck. He used quality pressure treated wood and was climbing up and down to get this 2nd floor railing perfect. He is very busy (which means he is very good), so you might have to wait a bit for an opening in his schedule but he is worth it. Plus he is a very nice guy and easy to communicate with. He invoices and always makes sure we are all on the same page.
