The first project was a new fence and motorized gate about 5 years ago (it looks just as amazing now as it did the day they completed it)- from start to finish, the TH team was very knowledeable, gave us many options, were always prompt in both showing up when they said they would, and returning inquiries and other phone calls. We wanted to replace a busted old chainlink fence in the front yard with something that looked a little sharper. Called TH gates and fences after seeing the high quality of their work on other projects. Tal came out the next day to talk about the project and take measurements for a quote. We asked for two different quotes so we could evaluate our options. After a little back and forth changing specs and materials, we settled on a wooden fence with Borneo mahogany planks. We agreed on a start date, and paid a small deposit. The workers arrived when they were expected, and were very thorough and clean, doing both the demo of the old fence and installation of the new fence. Install took one day, then the next day the crew returned to seal the fence and take care of little imperfections. There was a small issue with one board that cracked after the crew left for the day, but a quick phone call to the office and someone was out to fix the issue the next day!The end product was exceptional! Everything is plumb and level, the cuts are sharp and neat, and I was unable to find any issues at all! Many of my neighbors remarked on what a nice fence it is now, and took businesses cards from the crew! Tal came out to look at what I wanted to have done, which was to extend the height of our block wall fence using a wood fence topper, for approximately 24" tall. We decided on using a beautiful affordable hardwood called Borneo Mahogany in 1x6 dimension. He ran the fencing horizontally for four courses High to add 24" in height. These guys work very fast and efficient, the job came out beautiful as you can see from the pictures. They worked with us going back and forth about little variances and revised the quote in a timely manner. Originally quoted two days. One for demo and one for the installation. They got it all done in one day!!! (They even missed something in the quote and added it, as well as took care of the cost, just to make sure it was done right. We are delighted with the beautiful new gate that TH built yesterday to replace the one separating our driveway from our back yard. The owner Tal listened carefully to our needs and made sure that they were fulfilled before and during construction. The office manager Veren willingly wrote into the contract what we requested to be specified and even sent pictures of the options for the locking handle. The two crews, one for the mounting of the jet-black frame and the other for the placement of the tan PVC horizontal slats, were polite, friendly, skillful, and efficient. Without adding to our bill, Tal ordered repairing and painting a damaged wall that one of the old posts had covered. Finally, one of the installers took the initiative to cover with a new strip of redwood a scarred surface left by the hinges on the second previous redwood post. I had a very good experience with TH Gates & Fences, hiring them to build a retaining wall, 225' wood picket fence, and a couple of metal gates to replace structures burned in the Altadena fire. When shopping around I found them to be in the middle of the pack in terms of cost estimates, but I appreciated that they had a responsive back office, and it is not a single person operation. At the same time, Tal, the owner (I think), came over for the cost estimate, additional discussions, and at the start of every work day. Ease and clarity of communications were a very important factor for me. Once the work started it went smoothly and continuously, and my neighbors and I really liked the outcome. During the process, I particularly appreciated their flexibility in allowing me to change my mind about the design without any cost penalty just because of the change. This review is way overdue. We had our fence installed back in November and let me tell you this company is wonderful! We had 3 quotes given and they were not the cheapest but they fell in line with where it should be. I had one company ask where we were in our project which meant they did not want to come out and waste their time. Another company just hounded me. Tal simply came out, measured, and Vered sent out a quote within a few days. I chose them because their customer service is unreal!! They respond pretty quickly to any questions you have. It comes with a warranty. I reached out to them because after a few weeks two of the boards accrued large splits that were not part of the normal wood drying process and they said no problem we will send someone out to replace. It only took them two days to complete the job where one company told us two weeks to complete. Their crew was polite and kept the area cleaned. The best part of our amazing new fence is not having to see our annoying neighbor anymore through our old horrible chain link fence. I found TH Gates on Yelp and had a nice experience with them motorizing my driveway gate and then adding a pedestrian gate. Tal came out a couple of times to measure and discuss and to talk through various ideas about the walkways, door locks, etc. TH Gates are also electricians so they can handle all the wiring from the house, and you don't need to engage someone separately. I talked with Tal about how to do additional wiring for a doorbell camera and for lights and they handled all of it, in addition to setting up the driveway gate motors as was initially planned. Tal also had his guys fix a couple of side gate latches which were loose/crooked for free. His office folks are professional as well and will send you online invoices according to schedule, without hassling you or anything. Great work! read more

After hiring TH twice before (to build fences, gates, railings and stairs around our property), we decided to ask if they could do a big terracing project for us. Despite the fact that this isn't one of the main expertise they advertise, Tal had no problem putting an estimate together, and as before his pricing was straightforward and by far the most reasonable we had received for this job. The work started promptly and a small crew of three knocked out the work in an astonishing amount of time. This was an intense demo and rebuild of the old hillside terracing on our property and it was impressive how quickly and beautifully they were able to complete the job. TH Gates & Fences is the best around! I probably had about 10 companies come look at my project and give me a quote even though these photos were my favorite. I assumed that they would be the most expensive because of the quality and style of fences they provide. Boy was I wrong! They weren't the cheapest (which would have actually been non-licensed people), but they were definitely not the most expensive! Their price was at least half the cost of the most expensive quote I received! Also, the customer service was top notch! We were very hesitant to just book anyone because we actually had a bldg inspector flag our wall because it was leaning toward a Main Street/sidewalk. We knew that it had to get done right. Tal had a nice long conversation with us that gave us the confidence that he was knowledgeable and wasn't trying to screw us over on the price. The weeks before they started, we had a plan and they stuck to it. Actually, they finished a day early! We were also concerned with privacy, so he brought a whole fence and tarp set up that they used to block our yard while it was exposed. They replaced our 55' block wall with a beautiful redwood fence in 6 days! The team was very professional, respectful, and responsive. Tal came for the final inspection (and a few days in the middle of the project), and felt that the fence could be better. He asked them to remove half of it and change the orientation of the strips! On the last day! They graciously replaced the fence, and finished the same day! I HIGHLY recommend Tal and TH Gates & Fences for any block wall or wood fencing project you have! I had to replace roughly 80 linear feet of fencing in our new home and I shopped all the fencing companies. I wanted a fence made of Red Balau or IPE.
