Last weekend, my boyfriend was planning on getting a haircut but his usual barber shop had too long of a wait. So we tried looking for another one for him. He declined several places that we visited because their prices could not compete. Then finally I called Genesis, and Lisa answered. She quoted me a great price for men's haircuts. Five minutes later I called again, and she quoted me a great price for women's haircuts too. Last weekend, my boyfriend and I both had our hair cut. Lisa did a perfect haircut for my boyfriend. Beforehand, he let her know his clipper numbers and she nailed it. For myself I didn't know what exactly I wanted. Lisa kindly gave me ideas which I felt comfortable with. Quoted me 200. for a coloring and cut that I requested. To later regretfully, felt wasn't worth what she charges. Wa not happy with results. Idk what she was thinking...SOO MANY HIGHLIGHTS!! Nothing close to what I wanted! But, Lisa kept on trying to convince me that it was what I wanted. Kept on trying to make me happy with results, but only lead up to a dissatisfied customer. Sweet as she was, this old lady was not ready for a this customer that PAID HER 200 DLLRS! You expect a great job, rt?! Come on!! I admit that the cut was not bad. I've been going here for years - Roya is simply the best!! First off - I am very picky with my hair and have had many unsatisfactory cuts from others before I met Roya. She's incredibly kind, very affordable, and talented. I pay $20 + tip for an amazing hair cut (I have long brown straight hair - she helps layer it to perfection along with side bangs). Wash and blow-dry/style are extra, but what I appreciate is she doesn't try to upsell you if you don't need these services. Not only does she have a gift for hair, but she also has such a gentle spirit and finds so much joy it what she does. Be sure to tip her well because she deserves it. Rita wasn't there this week so Lisa did my hair. I walked in, and they were even open before they were supposed to. She already had a client but balanced both of us, taking me right away. I walked in with badly bleached, patchy, dead hair. She made me laugh about it and was very nice. We dyed it exactly the color I wanted and I felt saved from my hair emergency. I saw that they had a deal on Groupon so I checked them out on Yelp! and it seems like they're a good salon. I decided to purchase the deal and when I called them to make an appointment the lady who answered said that they don't take Groupon deals anymore because the lady who does the deal doesn't work there anymore. I wonder why they still have the deal posted on Groupon if they won't take it. They should take it down or at least honor it to the people who already bought the deal. I am finally writing this review and its long overdue but I came here during the summer and found them on Yelp. I saw nothing but good reviews and well I loved my experience here!! I made an appointment for my grandma who needed a cut and color. Roya helped my grandma and she was super nice to her. My grandma can be fiesty due to her dementia and personality but Roya was so professional, kind and caring. She cut my grandma's hair exactly how she wanted it to look from a picture she showed her. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because there was this rude asian stylist who made me get off her chair because she said she had a customer coming in so I was happy to move but her attitude about it was all wrong. I just wanted to keep my grandma company just in case she started to act up. About 30 mins passed and there was no customer that was coming in and I felt like she was incredibly rude. Roya apologized for the woman's behavior but I wish the woman could've been more understanding. Anyway, Roya does amazing work!! Plus the prices she has is so affordable. Check her out!! We were the only ones there so I just waited patiently while my friend got her haircut. Roya is so great!! I think. I just may have found my place in the valley. I just moved here and I've been looking for a place to get my hair done. This place is clean and Roya is so sweet. Very attentive and listens to what you want. She will even tell you what you want is not a good idea because it may damage your hair. Not a lot of hairdressers do that... I wanted highlights but she said it would damage my hair and honestly even if I told her I wanted it I don't think she would've done it. Instead she advised that I get low lights.
