They…read morealso do a monthly membership for all others at $40 a month, which isn't too bad considering what they offer. For a company gym, I was pleasantly surprised at how much this place had. For starters, they have an extensive list of classes that happen before, during and after work hours. Classes range from yoga, spin, zumba, abs, cardio circuits, etc. They are all free and you just need to walk in/get a number. There's also a basketball court where you can play basketball (duh), badminton, indoor soccer and more. Sometimes the court is closed off for classes though, so just gotta check the schedule. Like any other gym, they have a crap ton of cardio equipment. Treadmills, ellipticals, stairmaster, bikes... you name it. You can get your cardio in at almost any given time cause there's just so many to use. As for the weights area, it's pretty nice, but leaves some to be desired. There is a double squat rack setup that forces people to look at each other. Kinda awk. At least they have a powerlifting platform with bumper plates! The only problem with that is, as of recent, there is a sign on the platform stating that they might remove it due to noise complaints. Seriously? People complain about grunting and loud noises at a gym? -_- Anyways, the equipment are very well kept and people tend to actually rack the weights in the right place, which makes everything easily accessible. There are a bunch of trainers here who all know their stuff. They get a little anal about a few things though... One they don't allow the use of excessive chalk because it gets all over the floor. They asked me to clean up chalk on the ground before even though it wasn't mine. wtf? Another thing is that they don't allow recording in the gym. I don't get why. I saw a bunch of people recording and when I did it, they asked me to stop cause it's not allowed. Idk. Overall, pretty cool gym for employees. Can't wait for the new spot to open up on campus though.

You will see kids, teens and adults all doing the sweet science of boxing which will make you want to better yourself. Fire in the Ring or "Ring of fire" has been a gym that I went to from 2012-2013 because of it strength conditioning program. Which actually lead to my cousin joining and fighting for the gym under Clyde and Cleo. The gym overall has expanded and when I began training there again mid to late 2021 and I was hooked. The vibe and aura of the gym gave you such surreal feeling that you know everyone here means business. You see different age ranges training at the gym to also amateur and pro fighters. The coaches are mostly busy training either the kids program or the fighters. The fighters tend to all train together. While as other fighters train with their own trainers. If you don't plan on fighting, the bags and weights are open for all. If you're starting out and trying to learn as an adult I would say ask the coaches and they will be happy to give a tip or two but mind they're mostly busy training the fighter and the kids program. Ask other fighters or members for tips and when you do perform. Someone will either give you the 'nod' of acceptance or they will come by and help you out. During the duration I trained there it was really all business in that gym. Everyone trains and no games. The gym isn't a Fitness boxing gym, it is not a place where the coach will stand in front of a group of people and talk on a head set while playing Zumba boxing. This is a boxing gym that's probably one of the handful of authentic boxing gyms left in The Bay Area.

She is so gifted-- she has significant experience with Pilates and she is so in tune with her students. For a new to Pilates person like myself, she is super encouraging, patient, and motivating. I feel stronger, and more steady and balanced on my feet. Pilates really strengthens your core-- I have noticed my posture is better too. I feel Pilates is an investment in myself and my long term health and wellness. Diana has good rates, is super easy to book and schedule with, and has a cute studio in downtown Brisbane. Thanks Diana!

After a year and a half seeing Diana, I've seen my body and life change. My posture has improved, I no longer suffer from insomnia, and well my jeans look better than they did before! Diana is the perfect balance of being a friend and a professional. She makes you work HARD and still manages to squeeze in some fun conversations too. She is extremely knowledgeable about Pilates, body alignment and rehabbing injuries so I'm super excited that she's opened her own studio. The more Diana in this city the better!!!!!

From the start, everyone has been incredibly welcoming and supportive. My first class was with Head Coach Raquel, who was super friendly and helpful. She took time after my intro class to go over my stats and patiently answer all my questions, which made a great first impression. I originally started with an 8-class/month membership, but upgraded to unlimited when I signed up for the Transformation Challenge in January. While challenges sometimes require an extra registration fee, I highly recommend them -- they're a great way to stay motivated and committed to your goals. The studio staff is also wonderful. They're always helpful, whether it's handling late arrivals, class cancellations, or loaner OTBeat Burn monitors. I really appreciate how accommodating they are. One thing I've noticed is how strong the community is -- a lot of members seem to know each other and have built friendships here. While I haven't made friends with other members yet, the fact that coaches (Raquel, Victoria) and staff (Lawvan, Ivan, Aidan) remember my face makes me feel welcome and seen. If I had to note a couple of areas for improvement, the treadmills feel a bit dated -- the built-in fans blow a bit of dust even after cleaning -- and the InBody scanner used for the Transformation Challenge is more of a consumer-level version, unlike the professional-grade ones I've seen at other studios. Hopefully those are things the studio can upgrade over time. That said, this place is still my favorite part of my fitness routine. The friendly atmosphere, supportive coaches, and helpful staff keep me coming back. I'm so glad I found this studio!

If this is you as well, Rise might be the jumpstart you need to get back into an active lifestyle! With that being said, I was super happy to find out that Rise SSF is the only Pilates studio in South San Francisco and is a collective as well! I've taken classes with Joanel, Ely, and Justin. They're all very instructive and supportive, I definitely feel the burn the following day from their classes. The studio itself is very clean and has music at a moderate volume- the focus is on your form and timing. I think Pilates is best done as a supplementary exercise and can be best paired with another activity like cardio or lifting weights, but it definitely has benefits where it tests muscles that you don't normally work out.

I am taking Reformer classes with two different instructors, both of whom are attentive and have excellent interpersonal skills. They ensure my form is correct and provide support during challenging workouts. One class I take twice a week can be demanding for me, but my instructor is cheerful, adorable, and very supportive. Signing up for classes is seamless and almost effortless through their web portal. RISE offers a broad selection of Reformer-based classes, some of which use weights. They also offer classes on Saturday and Sunday, which is impressive to me. Parking is available in the business district and in front of the studio, depending on the time of day. SSF has extended metered parking around the area, but it is not expensive. The residential neighborhood is a couple of blocks away and has no metered parking.
