After picnicking at Robert E. Woolley Peninsula Park, I decided to walk off my filling meal while checking out the boardwalk here. The actual wooden "boardwalk" is a very short bridge crossing over the lake, but there's a paved pathway that continues on both sides, with a rocky shoreline, plant life, and lovely lake views. And there's a fishing pier stretching over the water at the park as well. Simple and serene, there's plenty to appreciate here.

A peaceful and serene walk along the Bay Trail with great views of SFO and San Bruno Mountain. The scenery is beautiful, especially at sunset. It can get a bit cold and windy at night, so bring a jacket. Lots of variety here -- people fishing, walking dogs, biking, or just strolling. A calm and relaxing spot to take in the Bay.

A very colorful name for what really is a long wooden bridge. But, I'm not knocking it, cause it does qualify as a boardwalk, and it seems to be very popular. Whether your dining at Kincaids, which is on the southern end of the boardwalk, and you wanna take an after dinner stroll and get a glimpse of the bay and the planes at nearby SFO. Or your hanging out at the nearby Park or staying at one of the Hotels, this is a great spot. I enjoyed my time here!!

A very nice place to stroll and see a different view of SF. Easy parking and easy to get to.

The Bay Area is full of amazing hidden oasis. Burlingame Beach Boardwalk is one of them. It is part of the San Francisco Bay Trail that spans about 500 miles. The view of the planes landing and taking off at SFO is amazing. The paved trail, with sink and running water along with benches to boot is very generous for public use not to mention, Burlingame dog park is just right across, for us pooch lovers to exercise our dogs. If you are a jogger, walker, plane watcher, runner or cycler, this trail is worth visiting. Cheers!

Beautiful stretch of coast bordered by grey pebbles and thousands of small wild flowers dotting the greenery. Sophie N. and I were hoping to catch the sunset one random Tuesday night in May but we arrived a few minutes past 8 just as the sun was setting. Quite a sight to see planes landing at SFO with cotton candy hued layers of the sky serving as a background. Take a stroll during the day, or early evening since it seems safe enough when there's baseball practice at the field across the street. Limited parking spaces directly in front for coastal views but we parked in the gravel lot adjacent to the baseball field. Fresh air for the most part (kinda smelled some fuel fumes reminiscent of BBQ). The ocean has always helped clear my head. *Exit Anza Blvd from 101N and turn left on Airport Blvd. Lots of hotels and a few restaurants in the area. Managed to find my bookmark Mokutanya four min away!

Beautiful boardwalk conveniently located in Burlingame! There's a pier for fishing and a great trail alongside the bay for joggers and bikers alike. There are also a great grassy area for picnicking and for watching the magical sunsets over the SF bay and planes landing at SFO. So fun! Parking is free and super convenient - I've never felt unsafe leaving my car here while I take in some bay views. Definitely recommend to any locals or travelers passing through!

There were two rangers standing there having a seemingly pleasant conversation which smiles and laughter. I walked up because I noticed a price per car for $6 but didn't notice a price per person for pedestrians and wanted to clarify and pay the appropriate fees if needed. I was impressed that I didn't need to stop their conversation, they stopped on their own, greeted us with big smiles, asked how they could help us. Brandon and Lee let us know that as pedestrians we didn't need to pay or occupy the time limits. I let them know my buddy would be picking up the girls when he got off work and leaving immediately. They stated no charge, I gave them the vehicle type, they weren't worried. I gave my buddy their names and let him know. Upon his entry he had no issue entering without paying since he was just looping through. Using the restrooms, they were clean, stocked, had soap and were useable. The bbq pits were cleaned from dirt and debris and ready to use. We went to sit on a picnic table and were stopped by a gentleman who stated he had just finished painting those specific tables and was currently adding a "wet paint" label to the tables We obviously were grateful for that. He ushered us to tables that were clear to be sat at and enjoyed. Parking areas were cleaned and so was the beach. On thing I did notice was a pathway of material in several different areas. I hate walking through deep sand and getting sand into my shoes and being stuck with it all day. My second thought was that that wasn't the intended use, that possibly the intended use for for individuals using wheelchairs, walkers, other assisted devices or for those with mobility issues to have a smoother surface. This made me happy that the facilities were seemingly inclusive as much as possible! I mean it is nature.

There was a lot of parking when we went on a Saturday afternoon. They had a few parking lots scattered in the area. There are a lot of picnic areas that you can reserve for the BBQ grills. There were plenty of bathrooms scattered throughout the picnic areas. The one I used was relatively clean and had plenty of toilet paper. They have a lot of trails here where you can bike or walk. You can watch the planes go in and out of the airport above you! There are also a lot of birds hanging out in and by water if you want to bird watch. I was hoping to catch some sea lions but I guess they weren't around. There is unfortunately a lot of powerlines in the area that would spoil an otherwise nice view but what can you do. I also saw there was a yacht club by the water! I saw you could rent the facilities for parties (not sure if you had to be a member or not).

It was foggy, cold, and incredibly windy during my visit last week, and of course, there's an incline as the trail wraps around the mountain. But it wasn't too bad, the actual climb up didn't feel as difficult as it looked from a distance, starting with the sneath lane trail then connecting to other trails higher up. In fact, there are many options for different trails to take. The Baquiano Trail had a dirt pathway while the Notch Trail toward the Nike Missile Control Site was paved. Near the SF Bay Discovery Site, there's a small restroom building (it was pretty clean for a park facility, on a Thursday afternoon). The gorgeous foliage lining the various paths was captivating, along with lovely views of the hills, lake (san andreas reservoir), and sunlit scenery in the distance. Too foggy to enjoy the views the higher you get though, just a giant cloud of fog everywhere. I barely made it three miles out before turning back. It was just far too windy and foggy to wanna be out there very long (I'm sure hot days would be even worse with zero shade to be found). Plus my legs definitely had a workout from the uphill trek. Luckily the jog back down was a breeze. And I did slow down to appreciate the vegetation and vast array of plant species, once again, before leaving.

On the way up you can see views of the San Andreas Reservoir Lake. After the rain you can hear the water flowing and see some little streams and wild mushrooms. To the ridge is a little under 2 miles. I like the fact there is a small bathroom which I find quite rare on trails like this. To the left is the San Francisco Discovery Site which has a plaque with some information. Apparently, this was the place the Spanish settlers first saw the San Francisco Bay. To the right the trail goes along the ridge to the remains of the old Nike missile site. The views are stellar, and one can see for miles on end, Marin, the city, Pacifica Mount Diablo, etc. I love watching all the planes coming in and out from nearby SFO. From Sneath the hike is about 5 miles and 2 hrs. I've also gone the Mori Trail route which is nice because it's not paved but this trail is steeper. It's worth checking out the funky Shelldance Orchid Gardens which is located at the trailhead but they are only open on the weekends.
