Definitely a scare for me. One of my friends told me he was numb on the left side and I can tell by how he was speaking that he was slurring. I told him we going to the hospital not the bowling alley. This hospital is the first emergency room I've been in that no one was in the waiting room. Never seen that ever. They checked him in quickly and took him to the back. So prayers in the air for Matt We were there about 3 hours with them taking test. With everything coming back negative. The staff their was really attentive, concerned and listen to him and what he was feeling. They came out and kept me informed with what was going on the entire time. We did not make out bowling tournament. And ended up driving back to NJ where we both safely arrived. Thank you Geneva General emergency room. read more

My husband became dehydrated at the brewery. He didn't even have hardly any of his beer. The paramedics were professional, got him on the stretcher and took him to the hospital. Once I got there he was fine. They gave him hormone replacement therapy. Prudent because he is on HCTZ, a diuretic that depletes electrolytes and he had been out in the heat. I was quite satisfied with the care my husband received. He has had passing out episodes before and Minoa ambulance and St Joe's were of no help whatsoever. This hospital has provided excellent care to our daughter who is a new PHD graduate student at Cornell. She was on a lab field day in Geneva, when she was taken to the er for abdominal discomfort/pain The ER diagnosed an inflamed gallbladder and Dr. Baltazar's team performed emergency surgery the next day. The staff were kind and appropriately attentive. Dr. Baltazar was empathetic and communicative. As residents of Texas it was impossible to be there. This hospital showed up as caring strangers and warmed our hearts. We are very grateful to the Geneva community for this hospital and its recent expansion. The hospital can be difficult to navigate. Fingerlakes health is on the first floor, Rochester Regional Health is on the second floor and they have offices all over, too. There are also offices behind and around the hospital that can be confusing as well. I wish the signage was better but maybe in 50 years we wont need hospitals at all. read more

Worst experience ever wife has been in and out of er for a while she lost weight and they admitted her for 2 days gave her fluid and said everything looks good u can go home, she said she didn't feel right so she said she don't feel safe leaving, they proceeded to give her a hard time and said nothing we can do here all your vitals are fine ur just not eating, which she just had all lower teeth out, so they gave her discharge papers and pretty much said have a good day, she can't barely stand or walk but pt signed off as she was fine to get around , cause she walked like 10 steps and said I need to sit I feel disey, had to get back to bed , they said it's your problem your not eating, no home help no rehab no nothing just go home deal w it, also told from er that they would have GI come check her out and some other test and never seen a soul for 2 days , bed side potty stayed dirty till she had to call to clean it out, never checked to see if she was even eating,I had to bring boost to make sure she was getting something so u would think they would make sure she was getting something down to help but they just said she refused to eat which she never refused anything read more

Worst ED and diagnostic personnel. Workers are lazy and rude. My MIL could not walk due to severe chemo weakness and back injury. Technician asked my FIL to help get her off CT Scan table. My FIL hurt his back! Call for a coworker to assist! MIL is unable to walk, or even hold head upright, is in severe pain and was released. Not one person asked if my FIL was able to care for her! He Could even get my MIL out of car and into house. She should have been admitted for a few days: at least until all test results were reviewed. Subpar care! However, nurses on in patient floors are top notch! read more

On two separate occasions, this unprofessional woman banned the children of my dying relatives from saying goodbye one last time as their loved ones were being taken off life support. My family is traumatized! I hope nobody has to go through what we've been through with Nurse Monica again! read more

I arrived to Geneva's Emergency Room mid afternoon yesterday for debilitating back pain. I had been immobile all morning, and was consistently breaking out in rapid tears from the chronic pain. When I arrived I waited less than 15 minutes to be seen by a nurse and given a room. It was from there that I was unbelievably impressed and grateful for the wonderful and caring staff that helped me throughout the rest of my time there. I have a strong dislike for hospitals, specifically emergency because they never treat you like you're a human being. I was pleasantly surprised at how different my experience here was. My doctor's name was Jillian Geyer and she was so kind and informative of my pain and helped me immensely reduce it by giving me pain killers and a lidocaine patch. I cannot remember my nurses name but she was also very kind and thoughtful. I was treated immediately and was very grateful for everyone at the hospital that saw me. I would give 5 stars and recommend this hospital to anyone in the area. read more

Not impressed at all. I was avoiding going to the ER or the doctors. This was the sickest I had ever been in my life, but I had no fever and figured it would pass as it most likely was a virus. I was forced by my employer to go to the doctor to avoid occurrences. I was vomiting constantly non-stop for days on end. I couldn't keep anything down. I laid in bed and went from the bed to the bathroom vomiting. I was then vomiting blood. (probably from the non-stop vomiting and dry heaving for 4 days straight) I went to urgent care and couldn't walk or stand long as I felt like I was going to pass out and was very short of breath. I had to sit down every few steps. They stated they couldn't help me and to go to the ER as I was severely dehydrated. Because every time I stood up, my blood pressure would drop. I went to the ER and the idiot that brought me to the ER bed was walking very fast and far. My husband was on her foot while I dragged behind and literally couldn't keep up and felt like I was going to pass out. I had to stop and called to my husband to please hold up. When I got to the bed, she looked at me in disgust and said she needed a urine sample. I hadn't peed in over a day as I had nothing to pee out. So I said, I couldn't pee as I haven't urinated in over a day. She looked at me, rolled her eyes and said, "Then TRY!" Then walked out of the room. I was given an I.V. for fluids. While I was receiving fluids, I heard the nurses complaining about the patients and that they "treat them and then street them" as the patients were a pain. Seriously??? My step father (whom died a year ago) went here as he was bleeding out of his port badly. (He had renal failure) They took him in, they were unable to stop his bleeding, so they released him. He went to his practitioner and the practitioner was furious with Geneva and had him go to F.F. Thompson Hospital where they were able to treat him and give him a blood transfusion. About ten years ago, a friend's sister took her son here, as he was complaining that his stomach hurt badly and it had turned purple. (He was seen by a Geneva Practitioner and released, stating it was just a gastrointestinal bug) They went to Geneva, the boy died under their care. He had peritonitis. DO NOT GO HERE!!! read more
