Upon walking in, the store has a musty odor smell, which gave me zero faith in buying any of their clothing items. My son had to use the bathroom, and as soon as we walked in, he said "ew smelly". The toilet bowl had COATS of blue toilet cleaner that had been left sitting. There was noticeable dust on every surface in there. Then, while waiting for the man to go through my box of items, I told me son he could look through the toys. I looked around the books and toys and realized how awfully they were priced for second-hand items... same went for clothing that I eventually peeked at out of curiosity. Faded and worn items marked almost retail in some cases! When they finished with my box, they took about 20 items and the payout did not match any of my other payout experiences, as it was low. However, I will say, they seem to be significantly less picky that K2K so I would say if you're consigning, you can probably skip donating and get a small payout instead here! And they also offer same payout amount where you do "store credit" or "cash". I know OUAC is a franchise and I will say that this one ranked pretty low out of the ones we've been to (at least 7 locations I can think of).

Needless to say the store employee did not make a sale with me. there was hardly any customers shopping, so I would have thought that the employee could have ensured the price was correct on every item in the store for sale. Turns out this is a women owned business featuring local artists in photography, art, ceramic, glass and more. Lots of unique pieces. And yes, on the expensive side, but as it turns out less expensive than two other gift shops (including the riverboat) offering the same candles. We were searching for butterflies and the staff were helpful in tracking down every item that qualified. We purchased a beautiful photo and added a frame from Walmart that made our dear friend's day. The founder of Ruby Falls granddaughter works at Mountain memories! My friend and I listened to her amazing stories and especially the legendary ones that she was told by her grandparents. I purchased her Finding Ruby Falls book that she wrote. She reminds me of my nana and called her grandma Jeanne. Please support her store. She is an amazing story teller and lovely human! It's a once in a lifetime opportunity and so glad we stopped to talk to her and give her business. I hope to make it back up there soon to see her. She is keeping her families legacy alive and being told to you their stories by her.

I was pleasantly surprised that the store wasn't freezing on this cold winter day. The store is on the smaller side but not tiny. I briefly mentioned to the manager working why I stopped in and he replied that he had my Dad as a professor. A reoccurring response that brings me extra joy in my hometown. Art Creations is a well supplied store of artist supplies for drawing, painting, etching, and other visual artist mediums. Each section of the walls is lined with colorful, reliable, and unique options. Each store section is clearly labeled. Besides different types of paints, inks, and brushes, they have different types and sizes of canvas as well as handmade papers. They also have really cool pens, journals, and blank card sets. The staff are friendly and willing to answer any questions. I was curious what artist created the blank card sets I was looking at. This store supports any creative mind's interests.
