My elderly mom was hospitalized out of state from where I live after she was recovering from her surgery. I found this shop via Yelp and used their online ordering process to ship flowers to the hospital and then to her rehab center. The first bouquet was much prettier than the second, more expensive bouquet. I was a bit disappointed in the second bouquet. I ordered through 1800 flowers, but they weren't the problem. Evidently this "family owned" business only makes deliveries to expensive neighborhoods and not middle class neighborhoods. They refused to deliver to Morganton,NC because they deemed the area unsafe. They failed to notify us of this for 2 days. The particular area where this was going to is not unsafe, there are beautiful houses filled with great families and lots of children running around. To say it is unsafe is beyond me. Unless you're of extremely high class don't bother with them. They are not "backed by service that is friendly and prompt" as they say on their website. Also said on their website "all of our customers are important". Obviously not true. Terrible service. Please also note that on their website, Morganton, is listed as one of the areas the deliver to. read more

Sadly, I've had two funerals to go to in this last month. Both times, flowers were ordered from Genevieve's Flowers-in person. The first time, my aunt ordered for us. The second time I did the ordering. Both times were somewhat last minute orders-24 hours for my grandfather, 48 for my young friend. She got us beautiful flowers at the price range we specified, and delivered on time. The second church was a bit harder to find and in a rougher area, so I'm extra pleased they found this location. Both times; these were the flowers that people talked most about. I would like to see the store front spruced up a bit; as going in person gives more choices than the online purchases, and the lady I spoke with was extremely friendly. I do plan on coming to this florist again. Hopefully next time will be a happier occasion. read more

My fiancé ordered me a dozen roses online from a Teleflora site, he's in England and in 2 years every florist he has called has royally screwed up the order to the point that I told him "don't even try" when our anniversary came up. I live kind of out in the boonies and florists tend to push my address off to other florists in their network whom they think are closer or apparently need the business. Anyway, he figured Teleflora would send the roses UPS and who can get roses wrong? Not only did this order come next day, it was hand delivered by Genevieve's, EXACTLY (according to my fiancé who saw them on video) like the picture, fresh, gorgeous, AND this florist is 40 minutes from my house. We live in another state, but wanted to send flowers to my mother for Mother's day. So we decided to go through 1-800-flowers. They sent our order to this venue. Let me just say that this experience was less than ideal. First they call my mother, ruining the surprise of getting fresh flowers for Mother's day. There was no need to call because they had everything they needed to know because we were very thorough with stating the address and business. We also think it's horrible that they didn't know what the USPS was when calling, because you know the USPS has only been open for 100+ years, but I digress. And it has the same hours of operation that they have... which is pretty standard. We call 1-800-flowers telling them that we didn't appreciate them calling our mother and we got a full refund. My mother later gets a call at 7:00 in the morning saying that they are coming up to take away the flowers. This is when things get messy. Instead of taking accountability and apologizing, we were met with a bad attitude and excuses. We asked why they needed the flowers back and her reply was, "I'm not getting paid." Of course you aren't because you messed up. We also asked what were to happen to the flowers once they were back in their possession. She replied with, "If there are any salvageable flowers we will reuse them in other arrangements. Or we donate them to other people." So be wary, if you ever want to get flowers from her, you may get some not so fresh flowers. She obviously isn't hurting if she donates them as well. We got flowers from them before through 1-800-flowers and my mother didn't receive a call and they left them on the porch without ringing the doorbell and letting them sit outside for hours, something else she said that they don't do. She put all of the blame on 1-800-flowers, which makes me question why she does business with them in the first place, seeing how on her website all of the bouquets are from different companies like them. You aren't committed to offering only the finest floral arrangements if you reuse old flowers from arrangements that you take back. While you are backed by prompt service (calling people at 7:00 in the morning on their day off) your service is not friendly, just irresponsible, petty, and vindictive. Your customers are not important and your staff is not professional. You don't offer an experience that is pleasant or stress free. So no, JEAN, you do not go the extra mile. Genevieve's Flowers ARE NOT and WILL NEVER be my first choice for flowers... I would rather go to Wal-Mart. If she would have apologized outright with a cordial attitude I would have called up 1-800-flowers and reinstated my order. So JEAN, have a glorious, stress free, and blessed Mother's Day Weekend. Jean at Genevieve's flowers is a wonderful lady and will do everything she can to take care of you. Ive been away from home for a few years and had used 1800flowers to wire flowers for my mom. They always sent the order here. Jean did her best to accommodate but when 1800flowers sends a order to her they keep the majority of the money. I cut out the middle man and call Jean directly now. She takes the time to personally deal with me and has never disappointed. I highly recommend this florist, just go straight to the source and give her a call. read more
