The crew is awesome. There are good days and there are days where the fish just aren't biting, but there is never a bad day on this boat. Young or old, experienced or never held a fishing pole before, you'll be comfortable aboard. Poles and bait are provided if you don't have your own. The crew is great with newbies as well as young kids learning to drop their line. They are there in an instant when your hook needs more bait and are very knowledgeable about what's biting so they will set you up with a proper rig. This is a drift fishing boat so you can expect some line tangles, but you can also expect to catch kings, snapper of many kinds, grouper, Mahi, cobia, Porgie, tuna... just to name a few. The boat is equipped with bathrooms, an air-conditioned cabin and a cooler of water to stay hydrated. Check their Facebook for updates before you head out as they privately charter the boat sometimes. Pack a cooler, some snacks (no bananas), plenty of sunscreen, and head out for an awesome time!

The parking lot…read moreabsolutely fills up during the morning as there were people circling around when we departed at around 10am. The park spans both sides of the land with features on both the Intracoastal Waterway side of A1A and the ocean side with a narrow pedestrian walkway under the bridge on both sides of the inlet. A playground, restrooms, park space and then the "show" of watching boaters try to make their way. It's a tremendous thing to watch as these folks go too slow or too fast against the current and around the small bend to get between the Ocean and the Inlet. Sadly, I've only been able to see them on the Youtube channel as the two boats this morning both chickened out. Still, a fabulous spot to get near the water and beaches. The Saltwater Angler Magazine had done an Article on him I had read it and booked with him. We had the Wahoo cooked at the restaurant in his Marina and travelled back with it wrapped and remained good a month later

This small park is located just north of Ocean Avenue not far from where we had lunch. The street…read moreto access it is one way going north. The park opens at sunrise and closes at sundown. The small parking lot is open 7 days a week. It looks like there is a charge for parking. This is what they call a "passive" park without much activity. A swath of green grass with some benches. A number of the trees have signs in front of them in honor of or in memory of various Lantana dignitaries and citizens. As its name implies, there is a kayak launch at the edge of the park into the intracoastal waterway. There's also an observation deck jutting into the water next to the launch area. If I worked nearby, I could see myself taking a break here during the day or on a lunch hour to just sit quietly and mellow out... and watch the boats going by.

It's a balmy morning in Lantana, FL and I am packing my small travel bag for a 4-hour fishing…read moreexcursion with Bar Jack Fishing. Sunblock - check, Hat - check, water bottles - check, small towel - check and now I am ready. I've never been on this boat before, Lady K. I have no idea what it will be like. But I planned to have the morning off and just the thought of being out on the ocean was enough to get me to go, fish or not, I am going to have a good morning. I arrive and to my delight, there are only about 8 people on the boat, it's a Tuesday morning, and I know I will feel safe with lots of "social distancing." My only small concern in the fee went from $40 to $60 and when asked why I was told; COVID 19. OK, I get it, the boat's at 1/2 capacity and it's not like I have to add a new expense item to my weekly budget, but after today, I may just do that! We take off and the sky is so beautiful, the sun is up and the cloud formations are majestic. We are about 15 minutes out from the doc and I feel so happy being on the ocean in the fresh air; the ocean scent, the sun and warmth (it's not too hot yet) and the smooth ride is making my think of a why I came to Florida in the first place. Captain Frank and his first mate Bobby are out helping us get set up with bait and in my case rod and reel. I asked about the cost of my loaner, Bobby responded it would cost about $300 to replace. I held on even tighter at that point. We find our first spot, I am told to let it out all the way and hit the bottom, we are "drift fishing" which is simply letting the natural drift of the ocean and light wind move us along. People are catching fish! I apparently am feeding fish! My bait keeps disappearing in bites as they eat around the hook. Smart little buggers. I am an hour in and I get a hit! It's a big one, feels like a whale, but it's actually much smaller and it finds a way to get free before I pull him up. This happens now several times and I am pretty sure there's a sign on my hook that says "beginner" and the fish know it. Finally, I catch a sweet little yellow tail and I am so happy! It was almost the end of the trip so the timing was perfect. A delightful ride back to shore and Captain Frank offers to filet my fish for me. A few others didn't want their yellow tail so it became part of my take home. Later that evening, a scrambled egg, a little breading, a fresh lemon and a hot iron skillet was all I needed to have a memorable dinner. A great way to end a delightful day on the ocean. I will be back!

It didn't disappoint. Sight fishing in the dock lights is a one of a kind experience. Chris had us on the fish immediately and the action didn't stop until we pulled into the dock. We will definitely be back.
