I questioned the cost increase and was provided a terse explanation. Realistically, no amount of explaining could justify the unreasonable inflation of cost. The guy was in and out of my house within 20 minutes. I won't ever use 5 Star Plumbing again. I will not recommend 5 Star Plumbing to anyone. The reason for the 2 stars - same-day service, notification of ETA, and he cleaned up after completion of the job. That's it. The absence of the other 3 stars - ridiculous inflated cost. The review process asks the question... What could improve? The best answer I have for that question...I should improve. I need to pay closer attention to the content of the negative reviews. He was actually another reason that I went with Super Bros, as I never felt like he was trying to upsell anything or push me into doing something I didn't want or need. He was clear about where there were options and where he has seen challenges from a project like mine in the past. His experience and demeanor were what locked it in for me. After agreeing to use Super Bros, the next week I was met by Mike, who walked through with me as he was point on the project. I work from home so I was around for the entire thing, but I can honestly say that there was barely any disruption to my workday. Yes, the water was off for one of the 3 days of work, but other than that and the expected noise of cutting out metal pipes here and there, the disruption was nearly invisible. In the process of selling my home, I was told the master bedroom drain was slow and the dishwasher loop needed to be fixed so I spoke with Jimmy and made a service appointment. No upfront scheduling fees, and I was given a fair quote for the estimated work to fix the two items. Come the day of the service appointment, Roger updated me on his ETA, showed up at the confirmed time, and looked at everything. The honesty comes in where he confirmed there was nothing to fix really and explained that the dishwasher loop would require an air intake valve which meant cutting through the granite counter and he ran the dishwasher which ran just fine.
