My front door had become nearly impossible to open from the inside because the top corner was touching the frame. It was also difficult to lock because the deadbolt no longer perfectly lined up with the strike plate. I was starting to panic! I really thought I was going to have to reframe the entire door or be trapped forever, forced to exit through the garage! I'm a single woman homeowner. I've had many repair people over the years, a few have been on the super creepy side (especially this one hot water heater guy...), so I reached out to a few handymen through Yelp to evaluate their profiles and responses in an attempt to get a feel for and filter out the guys who likely didn't know what they were doing or might be creepos. Sam was one of the handymen I contacted on a Saturday afternoon for a quote. He responded right away and gave me a totally reasonable quote to adjust the door and offered to come out on Monday. There were other similar quotes from others who seemed equally professional and non-creepy, but I just liked the "vibe" I got from Sam, ya know? His guy Nick arrived right on time that Monday and came up with a fix. I immediately trusted his judgment and presence in my home. Not a single ounce of concern with this one. Within minutes of his arrival, my door was swinging open and closed like butter and the deadbolt turned as easily as a brand new lock would. I'm absolutely thrilled! My door hasn't functioned this well in YEARS! He also did an adjustment of the strike plates on the door between the garage and house that had been annoying me for a small additional charge. Sam has been a huge help! He helped repair/replace a fallen shelf, a set of broken blinds, and a broken garbage disposal. All in a couple short hours.
