We consider each of the caregivers our forever friends. Arbi, the owner of Divinity, is a very hands on caring owner. He takes on each patient with attention to detail and takes the time to know them and provide caregivers with the skills to meet their individual needs. My mom would light up when they came in and would always work hard to know their names and talk with them. I cannot recommend Divinity Hospice enough. Especially when that loved one wishes to pass peacefully at home, the weight on family shoulders can feel immense. We were fortunate to be surrounded by extraordinary nurses and caregivers--people whose compassion and quiet strength lifted us in ways we'll never forget. My beautiful mom was diagnosed with late-stage ovarian cancer. After trying both traditional and alternative treatments, the cancer continued to grow. Yet through it all, she remained radiant--laughing, joking, and watching old westerns with us, her spirit still shining. Eventually, she could no longer eat without becoming ill. She asked only for sips of water and ice. She told me she could feel the cancer growing and gently said she thought she'd be going "bye-bye." It was heartbreaking--but also deeply humbling to witness her clarity and courage. As her strength faded, my sister and I realized we could no longer care for her alone. That's when we called Bristol Hospice in Lake Isabella. My mom wished to pass at our place up there, and Bristol responded with grace and urgency. Within a day, they had everything delivered--a hospital bed, wheelchair, table, and port-a-potty--all set up with care. They sent JR, a registered nurse, to meet with us at the house. He was kind, genuine, and deeply comforting. Every nurse who followed carried that same spirit--gentle, attentive, and full of heart. Branelle and Susan, in particular, were extraordinary--bringing warmth, wisdom, and a calming presence that made my mom feel truly cared for. They, along with JR and the rest of the team, eased our burden and brought comfort to my mom in ways that words can't fully capture. These caregivers are angels in human form. Their love and dedication to patients and families during life's most tender moments is nothing short of miraculous. I cannot speak more highly of this team, and I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone walking through this sacred passage. Instead of receiving compassionate guidance, we were subjected to an appalling display of unprofessionalism and cold-hearted callousness by their intake nurse, Dvin. During the visit, Dvin blurted out to my father, a frightened dementia patient, that hospice is "only for people who are going to die in six months," leaving him sobbing, terrified, and asking if he was dying. When confronted with the panic he caused, instead of reassuring a vulnerable patient or handling the medical criteria professionally with the family, he offered cold excuses and walked away, leaving my father deeply traumatized and without care. Traumatizing an elderly, cognitively impaired patient and dumping terrifying concepts on them shows a complete lack of basic dementia training, clinical judgment, and human decency. A hospice organization's primary duty is to bring peace, dignity, and comfort to families during their hardest moments. Bristol Hospice failed on every single count. Save your family the heartbreak and avoid this office. My heart is so broken!

We spoke to a palative care representive at the hospital and Hoffman Hospice was coontacted and in Hoffman contacted us at the hospital and arrangements were made and supplies and medical equipment were at the house even before we were released from the hospital. Hoffman Hospice to the lead in my wifes care and handled everything and explained and showed me what to do in the absence of the Hoffman team. Hoffman staff worked with me especially as she approached the final stages of her disease and kept her comfortable. At each stage of the progression the Hoffman staff spent more necessary time with Debbie and myself and also explained what was happening. I am very appreciative of the care they supplied with the medical help and mental preparations they helped me through.

My mom, 80, was fiercely independent but three cancer surgeries made it necessary to either get 24/7 in-home health care or move into assisted living. We could not afford caregivers at home, and chose the Hallmark. What a blessing. The staff... care providers, housekeepers, maintenance workers and food services... were very professional and truly cared about my mom's well being. Fourteen months later, her strength and agility had improved to the point that she could return home and live independently. Six years passed, and last summer, my mom started having serious heart problems. After a brief stay in the hospital and physical rehab, she returned home only to slip and fall and break her pelvic bone. That led to more hospitalization and more rehab. She could not do the things at home that she needed to do to be on her own. I began looking at assisted living options based on referrals from a case manager at the rehab center. Wow... the typical charges were $1000-$2000 more per month than the Hallmark's fees. So, I moved her, now 86, back to the Hallmark. Many of the same staff members were still working at the facility. They were sincerely glad to be able to help my mom who was going through a tough time. There is a lot of trite talk from business and sports team owners about how their organizations are like a family. Those are just sound bites. However, the Hallmark staff does take great interest in the residents and treat them like family. I have seen them do this with my mom and countless others. My mom had more heart issues at the end of summer and had to be hospitalized, again. When she finished rehab, she was back at the Hallmark. The care plan had been changed to accommodate her specific needs, and she showed improvement through the holidays. Then, earlier this year, another episode of heart failure, but this time it was accompanied by lung compilations. At the hospital, after she regained some strength, she wanted to go back to the Hallmark. Hospice care was added to her treatment plan. I was hopeful she would find a plateau and maintain an acceptable quality of life for a while. It did not happen, and it became clear her condition was deteriorating. I saw Hallmark staffers at different times leaving her apartment with tears in their eyes. They hovered over her in her last days tending to my mom's every need until she passed. I can honestly say that the Hallmark family brought joy to my mom's life. You can pay a lot more for amenities at other assisted living facilities, but you will not get better care than the care provided at the Hallmark. They are good people.

For sure, that good Reputation attracts and it looks good on the first impression. At the tour and contract signing Earnest assurances are given that set expectations for a high level of service and safety. Once moved in, the day to day is not always up to the same "high" standard. Virtually any resident can give examples on a daily basis. They may also say " it does no good to complain cause nothing ever changes" Maybe these issues are organizational and baked into senior residential homes. Some things are great, some are ok, others are sub-par and a few are just terrible and unsafe. It's a buyer beware deal. & On the upside, there are many staff who are committed to giving residents respectful, responsive caring service. These folks do their best in a demanding and understaffed environment.

Some nights I have had to wait over 6 hours for a nurse. During the day you can usually get a nurse within 1-3 hours. The food ranges from good to something that I wouldn't feed my dog all within the same day. Some of the nurses barely speak English. On a scale of 1-10 I would rate this place a 2. Some of the nurses are nice, and some of them get upset if you require anything. As far as Physical Therapy, some days you get it, and some days you don't. You just never know.
