I love this dentist! They are so relaxed and know what they're doing. They make you feel comfortable and always have a smile on their faces! The only thing that's making this a 4-star review and not a 5-star review is the parking situation. You have to park off-site, and depending on where you park, you may need to pay a parking meter. There are lots that have free parking, but they're a few blocks away. If you don't mind walking for the free parking, like me, then it's great. If you do mind walking for the free parking, then I would suggest going to another Gentle Dental location. I almost forgot, they have a new patient deal, which is great! I have no insurance now, and they have a deal where, if you're a new patient, you only pay $57 for your first procedure. This includes exams, X-rays, and cleanings! Incredible team well...more like my second home / family now! My whole life I've had so many dental problems and have had major anxiety around going and getting work done because I was never solving issues just doing enough to band aid them. My fiancé recommended to come in because he was so HAPPY with his experience as well so I gave it a shot! I am so so so glad I did! Truly life changing for me. Every single visit became a fun experience that I was actually excited to comeback for. Walking in I didn't know what to expect my first time but being met with Maria Silva and Krystin Estabrooks at the front desk with their friendly smiles put me right at ease. Their positive, encouraging, and welcoming attitude made me feel right at home and ready to start my journey. I knew right away that this was going to be my place! I was able to create a bond with them because of how much they truly cared about my progress and called to check in on me throughout the whole process and helped me along during every step of my lengthy journey to my new smile! I was told by dr, anthony that I need to put two crowns. And job was awfully done by dr.anthony agreement. Crowns were UNMATCHED COLORS , FOODS was STUCK UNDER THE CROWN, and they DID NOT cover my teeth! I asked him to fix my crowns. Dr.anthony had to shave my teeth AGAIN to fix his first mistake. Dr had to take off more of my teeth to re-do as supposed to be done at first. Second shaving caused me an awful pain that I had to use antibiotics to calm that pain down. It helped partially. He sent me to endodontics to see if I need to remove the nerve. Yes, unfortunately for me they need to make a hole in new crown to kill the nerve. It would cost $1600. Dr.anthony refusing to take responsibility he did not even came to talk with me! They did a root canal for me about 4 years ago and it's been nothing but problems since. My crown has fallen out maybe ten times. They made my tooth so short the crown can't stay on. And I've had a crown lengthening with them and it still is way too small! I had them keep cementing it back in until I finally switched dentists and they were pretty shocked at how small they made my tooth. Now my crown has fallen out again and broke my tooth with it so I need to get this tooth out and an implant. I came in for some fillings and Doctor Anthony is such a joy to be around. He has the best energy and is very efficient and quick. Very thorough and his staff and the dental hygienist Danielle was very pleasant to talk to as well. I went to the orthodontist afterwards and all of the staff and the doctor are so kind and make you feel incredibly comfortable and explain everything in detail to you. The front desk staff are always so nice and professional. They are very polite and have exceptional manners and are very patient, which I appreciate so much. I have a very strong fear of the dentist and everyone makes my routine visits and follow up appointments stress free and calms my nerves, not just with the novacaine. I got wisdom tooth surgery this summer, and no one bothered to tell me how to care for it or bothered to offer me the correct supplies to clean it. I got dry socket in every single socket and had to drive an hour and a half to see the oral surgeon as I suffered far after the time I was supposed to have healed in. I had a cleaning scheduled later that year and was made to reschedule 3 times before I realized they do not care whether or not they are wasting my time. I meet with clients for a living, and several workday hours of mine where I could have been meeting with my clients wasted in simply trying to get a teeth cleaning. If you're understaffed, don't book appointments. If you do, have someone to cover it. I'm going to find a new dentist. From the receptionist who I first spoke to, to the Dentist (Nurse) Assistant "Kaitlyn, to the Dentist, everyone was so pleasant to talk to and work with! Dentist Assistant "Kaitlyn" was so kind, personable, and happy, that she made me feel like I was part of their team and a family member! Dental Assistant "Kaitlyn" is a GREAT person and we need more great people in this world like Kaitlyn, who cares for her patients. I went into Gentle Dental to inquire about the new patient special they advertise for $57, which is suppose to include a full cleaning, an exam, X-rays and a treatment plan. But while I was talking to the receptionist I happened to mention that I was experiencing a problem with one of my back teeth. When I said that she told me that the problem with the back tooth had to be fixed first before anything else. Further, just to look at the tooth and tell me what's wrong with it would be something like $140. And this wasn't to fix the tooth mind you - just to tell me what was wrong with it. This isn't right. Essentially they're were asking for $140 just to examine one tooth. However, according to the sign out front I was supposed to get a full cleaning, AN EXAM, X-rays and treatment plan all for just $57. I call this a bait and switch. They are using the sign out front with the $57 special on it to get you inside the office and then once you are inside the price goes up and list of included services is reduced. Dental work can be very expensive and independent studies along with my own experience has taught me that its easy to get ripped off. If you can't trust a dental practice to be honest when you first walk in the door how can you trust them to go any further. read more

I just tried to book an appointment for their $57 new patient cleaning, x-rays and treatment plan. I did not book an appointment because I was told that they had not seen me and they can't do a cleaning until after they have examined me. I explained that the primary reason I was coming was to get my teeth cleaned and if they couldn't do that, then I wouldn't be needing the appointment. I explained that I have had my teeth cleaned every six months for years and that was the primary thing I was looking for. Since they were not going to clean my teeth, I did not book the appointment. Turned a simple widsom tooth extraction into a nightmare with their incompetent care. They are negligent AND simply do not care about you. First my partner had a consult for widsom tooth removal. Practically nothing was discussed except that 3 teeth were coming out, the 4th being totally impacted by bone making it no issue to other teeth and risky to take out since it was right by the major nerve. My partner was unsure what drugs were being used since they were just asked if they wanted sedation or not, no options or risks were discussed. They called back to ask what they were being given and were told nitrous oxide, ok, that's what they wanted. Morning of the procedure we arrive to find they are taking all 4 teeth out "because you're already under" and "just in case it causes a problem in the future". They also start getting out ketamine, fentanyl, hard drugs for injectable sedation! We asked and they said oh uh it wasn't discussed this is what you're getting? My partner wanted the nitrous oxide instead but the doctor intimidated them saying that was a horrible way to go, so my partner agreed to the heavy injectable sedation they didn't want. No pre-op labs or physical exam were done, no one made sure they say didn't have severe heart disease, no risks were discussed. We should have walked out then since it was clear multiple things were amiss, but my partner wanted to get it over with. They didn't suture the extraction sites despite being very high-risk, especially the impacted one that didn't need to come out. They said it isn't worth doing and sutures are "so annoying" in your mouth. Well, they developed severe dry socket as a result- the risk is about 30%! My partner wasn't given the option which would have prevented months of complications. Also, the major nerve was exposed by that impacted high-risk tooth, and I was told post-op they may have nerve damage and half of their face being numb, and we had to wait to tell until the local block from the procedure wore off to tell. Fun times. They were in severe pain despite narcotics, prescription naproxen, and tylenol around the clock. They followed every post-op instruction. Ended up in urgent care over the weekend when the office was closed. Called on Monday only to be brushed off and told they wouldn't be seen until the original surgeon had time to see them, even when my partner asked if they should go to the ER then! They said extractions hurt and they need to be taking pain meds around the clock- they already told you they were. When someone mentions going to the ER, that's your flag someone needs to be seen, Gentle Dental didn't care. I had to call back and demand they be seen. Dr. Anthony saw them, told them treatment would slow down the healing process so they'll only do it once (clove oil dry socket paste), you need to be taking pain meds (they were already!), AND told them not to take their naproxen with tylenol, which 2 previous doctors said was fine AND was on Gentle Dentals post-op instruction sheet! They said to do ibuprofen instead, because "you take it more often so more stays in your system." False, it just wears off faster, my partner was now miserable 4x per day when ibuprofen was getting low vs. 2x per day with the naproxen. They were also told to use a mouthwash with no alcohol, and one was prescribed that was 12% alcohol- that's 3x more alcohol than the one urgent care prescribed they were told to stop using. Their whole attitude was that my partner was just being whiny and it just takes time to heal- severe dry socket is no joke and it was preventable in the first place by a few minutes of suturing. It took a solid 3 months after the procedure for their mouth to not be in pain. The sutures would have come out in a week or two, and they take 5 minutes to remove. They're still flushing open sockets after every time they eat because when this happens there is just an open crater in your jaw that takes many many months to heal. Gentle Dental couldn't care less, and we're just happy at this point there was no permanent harm. read more

I then complained about sensitivity in another tooth. Dr. Anthony suggested a root canal but saving the tooth. I asked if he could accommodate me right there and then ... Yes. A Front-Office Staff member came over to explain charges and asked if it was acceptable. I agreed and transferred to another room where Val was also very helpful. I switched my entire family of five to Gentle Dental of Nashua after my employer change our dental insurance. My family has NEVER had so many cavities/fillings. When the dentist suggested I had a cavity, I decided to get a second opinion. The second-opinion dentist said I did not have a cavity. Three years later, I still do not have a cavity in that tooth. They also told my husband he needed a crown. After hearing of my cavity story, he got a second opinion and was told he did not need a crown. After two years, his tooth is still fine. They also pushed extra procedures - fluoride treatment that insurance did not cover, etc. Early on in my care with them, they told me I had receding gums, and unfortunately, I listed to them and got expensive work done. No dentist before or after them has suggested gum work. My entire family has left this practice because they are completing work that does not need to be done. The moment I walked in I made sure to tell the staff how frightened I was. They all treated me with respect and kindness, going above and beyond to help me deal with my fears. Dr. Anthony is wonderful. There was no judgment for letting things get so bad, and at each step he put me at ease. Two years later and I've gotten upper dentures! The surgeon was great, the follow up has been wonderful, and the encouragement of all the staff has really made a huge difference. This is a top notch practice, and I'm so grateful for their help! Never, ever use Gentle Dental in Nashua, NH. Biggest waste of time in my life! I made an appointment with them six weeks ago and they verified it Thursday for a cleaning, exam and possible cavity filling. When I made the appointment with them, I informed them that I didnt have a lot of time to go to several appointments and I wanted to make sure they could accomodate all three when I was at the appointment. They said that they could. When they called to verify the appointment on Thrusday, I reitterated that the appointment was going to be for a cleaning, exam, and filling. They confirmed!! when I showed up this morning they want to do the exam today, reschedule another appointment for another day for the cleaning, and again, reshedule another appointment for the filling. Such a stupid scheduling practice that I tend to think they have their heads up their rear ends rather than in someone's mouth. My former dentist had retired and sold his practice, so on the recommendation of a friend ,I tried here . The new patient package was an attractive offering as well. I had not been to a dentist in several years ,due to being uninsured. I expected to hear that my teeth needed work. I was looking for an annual cleaning / x-ray and cavity check. After my x-rays were taken , I was informed that I NEDED deep gum cleaning ,4 crowns and 2 replacement teeth. Now ,I am missing 2 teeth, and I did need the cleaning , however , even with insurance I do not have the price of 4 crowns ($1500 each) or the replacement teeth ($7500 each). I made this clear to the Doctors and hygienists. EVERY SINGLE TIME I go back for an appointment , EVERONE is super ,super PUSHY about me getting these services!! How many times do you need to be told that even with a generous insurance plan,I DO NOT HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY !!!!! what part of I SIMPLY CANNOT AFFORD THESE SERVICES do you not understand ???? When I told them I would gladly have all this work done if the office could put me on a payment plan, I was told "we don't do payment plans of any kind , or send out monthly billing statements, but you can apply for a Care Credit Card ,and they offer no interest if the balance is paid in 6 months" UM.. NO!!! first of all ,care credit charges 29,9% interest , and secondly, how do you think I can pay off over $10,000 in SIX MONTHS????? As for not sending out monthly billing statements, I call BS on that one !! I received at least 3 !! They are also over the top about upcoming appointments. After my first appointment ,I made another . Before that second appointment , I received 4 e-mails, 3 voice mails on my cell ,and 4 voicemails on my home phone reminding me that I had this appointment and to call if it needed to be re-scheduled. When I went for my next appointment, I informed them that this was totally ridiculous ,that when I make an appointment ,it is MY responsibility to call l the office if circumstances dictate a change, not to be barraged with reminders. I went to Gentle Dental in Nashua in April 2014 as a new patient. My experience was horrible,I'll never go there again. As Dr.Anthony filled my cavity,he never spoke to me about my care,my teeth or my medical history. He only spoke about the great discounts he was getting on some new equipment he had recently bought.I suffered severe pain after the filling,when I called to ask for an appointment the office staff argued with me saying that I was having normal pain following a filling. I finally got an appointment and they treated me like trash,the doctor examined my tooth and repeatedly contradicted herself on the reason for my pain and the best way to treat it.They told me to make an appointment for a root canal and crown. I ran crying from that office,I went to another dentist I know and respect. I now have a root canal and will have a crown next month. Dr Eric Anthony does not treat patients with respect. read more
