If it's possible to have a great experience at the dentist's office, I have certainly had a great one here. I was going to the Gentle Dental office at the Trolley Yard in Worcester, and went to the larger office on Shrewsbury Street for an implant and crown. Both offices were great, and the doctors, assistants, and staff at Shrewsbury Street are all excellent. I hesitated a bit before going to a large office with a number of dentists, because individual attention, personality, and care, are all so important when you're getting your mouth dealt with, but I needn't have. Dr Klimashov (Dr K) did the first half or so of my root canal procedures, and Dr Arora-Mohan did the rest, including fitting and mounting the post and crown (about 2 years in total). Both doctors were extremely nice, explained everything fully, and worked skilfully and quickly. I was thrilled to find out today that Dr Arora will be my primary dentist there: she is kind, empathetic, and never rushes but gets the job done quick. Dina, who works as an assistant, is equally smart and nice, puts all patients at their ease, and works as a brilliant team with Dr. A. Melanie and the other front desk staff are unfailingly efficient and cheerful, and the equipment in the office is all state-of-the-art and accurate. I got my crown today, and I have already almost forgotten that it's not my real human tooth! Thanks to everyone. read more

Absolutely horrible dental office!!!! I got a deep cleaning, which caused a severe infection. I ended up at the emergency room for X-rays, numerous other tests, missing a day of work. I was put on very strong antibiotics. When I called Dr. Aurora, she told me to come in for X-rays, then charged me , and harassed me with phone calls, months after me leaving the practice. This place is a scam!!!!!!!! read more

If I could give no stars I would. Had an appt for a filling today (5-8). Paid my 90 upfront because they want that cash first! After sitting in the chair for 45 min and the assistant trying to take an xray (even though I already had an xray of the tooth at my cleaning, the dentist came in. Well, I'm not sure what I'll see once I'm in so maybe come back. Bottom line now she says that may need a crown. Why do you say filling and now maybe a crown (said my gums were inflamed). Are they just trying to make more money. So I wasted my afternoon for nothing. Time to find a new dentist. read more

Depending on who you are/ask this location (Shrewsbury St.) might be ok, but not for me. I was in excruciating pain with an impacted molar and sent there from another location. Big regret. The amount of pain that I was in, had both my ears in just as much pain. The excessive noise overall did not do me any favors during my assessment. Having my imaging done resulted in terrible bruising on the inside of my frontal jaw area. At one point the bitewing was shoved aggressively into my mouth resulting in me gagging. You would think that these experiences would deter me from going back. But being in so much pain and having had such a wonderful experience at another location for me and my family, I decided to return two days later for an extraction. Big mistake. It was 4:30pm on Friday afternoon of Labor Day weekend and there was nothing gentle or patient about my experience. I fully understand that administering anesthetics the patient will feel the needle pricks. But I am also aware that a good dentist will allow for the anesthesia to work before any continued administration of more medicine, especially if the comfort of the patient is first and foremost. But when you are in a hurry, you are in a hurry and I experienced so much pain and discomfort from just the administration of the anesthesia that I cried out in pain multiple times. After the extraction I was bluntly told that, "you're not getting anything strong for the pain, just go home and take Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen". Do I look like a drug addict that came there to be suffered just for drugs? I have no vices. But one thing I do have is an aversion to pain and after being in so much pain for 4 days, with both the aforementioned pain killers not working, I would have been glad for just one day of being pain free as the anesthetic wore off. Having bad teeth does not make one ignorant to dental procedures. You can't assume to know what preceded that problem and not treat people with respect and mirror the name of your establishment. In my former life, I have 4 family members who are dentists/dental surgeons/dental technicians. Trauma does a lot to people and family politics can be destructive. Your establishment promised to be gentle. I found it noisy, hurried, unsympathetic, and flat out condescending. I am home, in pain, the 4 Motrin and 2 Tylenol that I have been dosing myself with periodically for the past 4 days are still not helping me. Yet, even though I told the surgeon that they were not alleviating my pain, I can still hear his unsympathetic words, "you're not getting anything strong for your pain. The tooth is out". No empathy and certainly not gentle. read more

Scam!!! Don't go here. I saw the promotion $57 for new clients who just want a simple cleaning. So I called to make an appointment. They wanted me to come one day for x-ray and another day for cleaning. I paid $57 before I check out of the first day. I even asked them if I need to pay extra when I come back next time. They said No! My next appointment for cleaning is coming up this May (2 months after the X-ray) but they send me a bill of $220 extra!!! This is definitely a trap. Came in later that week for an appointment and everyone was so nice and helpful. Disclaimer: the people I worked with seemed less experienced and required a little more patience. Amazing doctors and staff members! I've been with them for more than 8 yrs. I take my parents and kids there too.

This place is pretty chaotic and I won't go back for anything. They are unprofessional and uncooperative. I am a great patient, have insurance, am pretty easy going and don't mind dentists / needles or the like at all. The actual dentist was ok (just had a cavity filled). I had to wait around a lot longer than I should have, but still. She suggests a cleaning - ok it's been a while, why not. So she hooks me up with Cheyenne - whoa. She's like a used car salesman. Seemingly super nice, she's NOT. A cleaning turns into a deep cleaning turns into this and that and one visit turns into 3. Always quite vague with the costs and the details. It's the 'let's see how we can grab all of your insurance money and then some' game. Always very interested in how much insurance I had the entire time, when it expires, renews and the like. I caught her in several lies, telling me ahead of time 'if this, then you'll need that' sort of stuff. And when the 'if this' didn't come back negatively - I still suddenly needed the super expensive 'then that' procedures. Questioning this seemed to just upset her and she goes. Sitting there, out of the blue some weird guy with a bad Brooklyn accent 'eh oh yo badaboom badabing' comes into the private room while I'm waiting and starts harassing me about my teeth. Literally! No introduction, no polite 'mind if I' or 'Cheyenne was just speaking to me' - nothing! He just launches into how awful it is for not wanting this expensive course of treatment. WHO ARE YOU GUY? I never did get his name! Turns out Cheyenne just decided to go ahead and share my medical information with everyone on staff without asking me / letting me know? NICE! So now she's back in as well and I realize this is just a tag/team pressure tactic to make $ at my expense. Bombarding me from both sides about why I should have $2k worth of work done. And they really weren't nice about it either. I literally felt like I was buying a used car and I finally just had to leave. They were lucky I didn't unleash a massive tirade on the way out my door. I'd perform my own dentistry with rusty tools before heading back to this place! read more

Over the past several years I had major dental work done at Gentle Dental in Worcester (including crowns, bridges, root canal treatment, oral surgery) and I could not be happier with the results. When I first had to visit a dentist due to some acute problems, I called a number of dentists to check if I could come in right away, but it was only Gentle Dental that was immediately willing to accommodate me. From my very first visit I was impressed with the professionalism, attention and care with which I was treated by the entire staff, even though I basically had just walked in to the office. Now, a number of years many procedures later, I cannot praise Dr Arora enough for her outstanding artistry and commitment to excellence. Out of the numerous dentists I have visited through the years, Dr Arora is the only one who is always taking the time to make sure that the patient understands options available and fully explains the reasoning for her particular recommendations. I haven't been to the dentist in what feels like 3+ years (collective gasp!!). Knowing that I hate going to the dentist prompted me to be very nervous about initiating this arduous task. So after experiencing the telltale signs of the onset of teeth problems, I finally bit down (see what I did there) and went searching for a new dentist. While exploring the 'verse far and wide, I began to hear some great reviews about Gentle Dental. I finally decided that I couldn't wait any longer and would give this place a shot. I walked through the door on a 90 degree day with the SWASS meter at an all time high. The first thing i was greeted with was a cool blast of air gingerly accentuated by the pleasant aroma of mint tooth polish and the humming of a distant dental instrument. At the desk sat a very pleasant woman who welcomed me with a smile (and a clean white one at that). After telling her I was a new prospect, she quickly and efficiently whisked me through the paperwork process and even assisted me in finding my dental insurance. Once my appointment time arrived, everything else was a clean breeze. The woman who took my X-rays was very accommodating and thorough. She even made sure that I was as comfortable as possible when having me bite down on the X-ray tooth thingy mcbob (sounds legit right?). Dr. Filete did the remaining investigation and was incredibly informative. He exceeded my expectations in communicating information so that I fully understood how bad I'd been neglecting my gums! Most often your dentist probes around your mouth emitting the common, "Mmhmm," or the dreadful, "Oh," without any clear explanation as to whether or not you're going to die. In this case, he assured me that I wasn't going to die, but should instead focus on a more rigid flossing schedule coupled with gentler flossing. Thanks Doc! Then to top it off, I was able to get the cleaning done on the same day after they shifted a few things around for me to once again accommodate my hectic work schedule. Kaila, the hygienist, was an absolute gem. Super pleasant and very humble. I don't think I've ever laughed that much during something historically very horrible for me. She to was incredibly educational, allowing me to understand the vital importance of flossing and softer brushing. Had it not been for her soothing reassurance that I would be fine, I believe I might have died then too. But once again, I made it out alive and in much better spirits than how I walked in. With the taste of cinnamon tooth polish in my mouth, a bag of dental goodies, and a committed second visit, I feel it's safe to say that Gentle Dental has now won me over as permanent client. So folks, do that dirty mouth a favor and get on over to the folks down at Gentle Dental. They'll redefine what it's like to "get all up in yo grill," and do so with a smile! read more

So I will start this off by saying that I have severe anxiety issues with the dentist. I tear up, I'm anxious, I just do not handle it well. The issue is bad enough to where my previous dentist would prescribe me a valium to stop me from freaking out and causing a scene. I can't help it, I just do not handle the situation well. So I have a took that I need to have extracted, I searched the internet for a dentist with a good amount of positive reviews. I don't want to go into a situation where I'm going to be sitting in a chair with someone who can't handle my anxiety situation. I went in and was greeted by Justine at the front desk, she was very friendly and listened to me tell her about my stress problems. I was taken to the back by a Dr. Mandela, he also was awesome, he picked up pretty quickly that I was stressed out and having an issue with some mouth pain plus being in my #1 nightmare scenario, the dentist chair. His assistant took some xrays, which again for no reason I freaked out about and was gagging and shaking like an idiot. When Dr. Mandela came back, he was very polite and we talked about our options, my top back right tooth needs either a root canal or an extraction, I said I was interested in the extraction because it is cheaper and a far back tooth that is not noticeable. They scheduled me for Wednesday and gave me some antibiotics and pain medication to help me. So I know what you're thinking, how are they a 2? They seem great, well my friends, lets just jump right into it: It's now extraction day, I worked the overnight shift the night before, went straight home and let my dog out, headed to my appointment at 10:30, next door is a coffee shop, I hadn't eaten since 1AM, so I grabbed a muffin because I'm already feeling like I'm going to puke with fear. I go into the dentist and Justine is at the front again, she is very friendly as she was before. I sat down and almost immediately was taken to the back to meet with the extraction specialist. I apologize but I can't remember his name. As soon as I get in the office my anxiety set in and I was panicking. He pulled up the xray and said yes, we can extract this. I had some questions for the doctor, I was told by the staff before that they also may be able to use gas because of my anxiety or prescribe me something like my previous dentist. I asked about the gas and was told "it isn't worth it, you won't feel anything from it." I tried to explain that I was having anxiety and he said lots of patients do and began pulling out a big bag of metal tools that I can only assume were to yank the tooth with. I then asked about prescribing me something and he told me "I do not do that, I don't know why you need it" I tried to tell him I was just freaking out and he said, "listen if you want to reschedule then do that and call your primary care for something but I'm not going to do that. We can either do this right now, or not." I'm tearing up at this point because I need to have the tooth pulled because it's hurting but this guy does not care in the SLIGHTEST that I'm freaking out, he's making it even harder. I finally agree and say okay, I just need a minute, I'm gonna eat this muffin and get some water so I can breath and we can do this. He then gives me a look like I'm the scum of the earth and goes "we have patients waiting, we can't wait, so you can lay back or reschedule" I told him nevermind then, I'm not interested at this point. Guy then power walks to the front and says to Justine, he is gonna reschedule and walks out to the back without even looking at me again. Justine goes to reschedule with me and at this point I'm just not interested in having that guy go anywhere near my mouth. She sees that I'm upset/freaking out and presses about what happened so I tell her that basically the guy was a jerkoff to me. I told them that I researched the place and whoever Dr. Arora is, she has great reviews but that guy does not care at all. Dr. Arora was actually sitting there and went to the back to speak to the guy about what happened and apologized. I honestly would have had someone else do it, because everyone else there was so nice, later that day Justine called me and said she mailed me my xrays and a list of options that I could see. I genuinely do appreciate that, and would go there to see Dr Mandela or Dr Arora. The extraction specialist however, sorry to say, he was awful, guy did not care whatsoever, didn't care about my situation and wouldn't even give me a few minutes to eat and try to gather myself. read more

She apologized for her employee's unfortunate behavior and offered me a chance to come in and get a cleaning. I, of course, accepted her invitation and went in. The office was filled with pleasant smiles and a welcoming environment. The advice given to me from the Director was honest and sincere, and the services were well done, I definitely appreciated it. By the end of the appointment, I was comfortable and pleased enough to decide to give this place another shot. I appreciate the invite to come in again and I did enjoy my visit. I am getting braces here. Since I don't have ortho insurance, thse price was so much better than what I was quoted at 2 other places. Everyone was so nice! Becky, the assistant to my ortho, is so amazing!! My ortho gradudated from Tufts University, and he is very expierenced! I have had braces on when I was younger, and didn't complete my treatment. I know what needs to be done. He was very sincer, easy going, spot on. They were so personable an made me feel amazing about getting braces! First time patient here. There was a new patient special, 57$, cleaning, x rays, oral surgeon consultation so I booked an appointment for my daughter, she had a cleaning from her previous dentist 12 months ago. I became unemployeed during covid so no dental insurance, which is why i came here for the 57$ cleaning. But after an xray and initial assessment I realized its all about the money. 12 months ago her hygienist, who shes had for 8 years says she might have a cavity coming in but lets hold off and see where we are next year. Gentle dental she's got 9 cavities, needs all her wisdom teeth out asap, and after my daughter gets her teeth cleaned I get called into the room and they say they recommend the floride treatment for after cleaning and that is an extra 47$, which I agreed to. I thought the flouride treatment would have been included in the cleaning, it has always been part of the cleaning since I've been going to the dentist and only takes an extra 3-5 minutes. But pretty much corpotate dentistry trying to make as much as possible from you. Won't be going back, definitely better options out there read more

Missy has been my favorite hygienist and inspires me to take better care of my teeth. She's very personable and makes it easy to relax. Horrible. The guy who did my xrays barely knew what he was doing & I never could tell if he was talking to me or to himself. It was weird. I also could only understand like 7 words the dentist said to me. I was told I would be coming in one day for a meet with the dentist & then the next morning for a cleaning. When I met the dentist he said that I needed a deep cleaning. I agreed, but we agreed that the next morning the hygienist would give me a regular cleaning then we would schedule the deep under gum cleaning for another time. When I arrived in the morning the hygienist insisted we start the deep cleaning which would have involved numbing & only cleaning 1/4 of my teeth. They were, however, willing to honor the $57 new patient price for that. I do appreciate that, but was not prepared for novacaine or having only some of my teeth cleaned. I wanted what I asked for. No more. She wouldn't do it so I left. The whole place felt unprofessional & like it was everyone's first day. It was bizarre. read more

Went to Gentle Dental for the past 2-3 years, but now I couldn't take it any more. After seeing different doctors each time, and not so happy with the result after having them put the crown in, I'm through with this place. To make this sounds reasonable, I'm gonna tell you what's good and bad about this place. Let's start with the good part, people at Gentle Dental are friendly, some called you honey, some called you sweetheart. But that's all I can say about a good part. As for the negative parts that I'd seen there. The place is a run down, last time I was there and they performed so what call Emergency procedure, they put the nastiest glasses on me. I mean come on, if you plan on using the old stuffs to save cost, JUST CLEAN THEM UP FIRST! To see things like that it's freak me out and have me thinking what about other equipment !! And another thing that driven me away from this place was seeing different people all the time. I want a dentist that knows my teeth, it's easier for a follow up. After seeing a Chinese dentist there last time, and she couldn't really help, I decided to move on to Modern Dentistry in Shrewsbury. and what a different ! That's place is clean and people there tend to know they're doing and making me feel like they are willing to go extra miles to help the patients. Gentle Dental did some work on my two front teeth. I had to get one implant and one cap. I was told by my local dentist and oral surgeon that I needed to have two implants. After a consultation with Dr. Tina Aurora and the oral surgeon they assured me I only needed the one implant. My initial fear about going to them because they are larger than your normal dentist quickly subsided when it became clear that being so large they have seen everything before and have tons of experience doing not the run of the mill dental procedures. Went to Gentle Dental and said that I had a filling that needed replacing. When I got there the dentist looked at it and said there was nothing wrong with it and that I needed to focus on getting a partial bridge. Before any further work could be done I moved out of the area. 1 year later the tooth I complained about became infected so I visited my new dentist. The first exam, without mentioning my suspicions about the tooth, he said that the filling in the tooth was bad. He fixed it, no more problems. It seems to me that Gentle Dental is so focused on the major problems that other things tend to get put on the back burner. Horrible place. I went once and it was not a good experience and went one more time for an emergency consult. There is an Indian girl that works there as a dental assistant and she was talking about patients in the waiting room. The dentist rushed me in and out so fast. Of course all he said was that I need a 2000 dollar root canal. I had some questions and if you want me to spend 2000 on a root canal for one tooth I think you can take a minute to talk to me. I need a lot f work and some I can afford to do immediately. But they insist that I need this expensive root canal before anything else. They are rude and insensitive and are just out to take your money. They don't care about the actual patients. DO NOt GO TO THEM. The place is a JOKE! read more

After relocating to this area, Gentle Dental was recommended. For my first visit I was able to take advantage of their $57 'new patient' price, (I have found that these are often a ruse to hook you into spending a lot of money) The first visit they did full mouth x-rays, an exam by a dentist who recommended I see the periodontal expert as I do have gum disease, which I have been treating for years. After meeting with the specialist he suggested a deep cleaning/scaling for the lower portion of my mouth. (again being honest, he could have told me I needed the whole mouth done) the follow-up appointment with the specialist as well as 1/2 of the lower mouth work to be done we're all bundled into that $57 price!!! All I had to pay out-of-pocket was for the other lower quadrant. Now, if I may share the experience I had today, Ramesh, the dental tech that would be performing the procedure promptly took me back into the room, asked about any recent Health updates of which I had several to report. For some reason, and the first time in all my dental visits, I experience some sort of anxiety attack during the novocaine injections. I did not mention it to Ramesh, however she sensed what was going on, I had begun shaking and was probably quite pale. She was extremely gentle, calm and patient. She quietly suggested we raise my chair and she got me a glass of water. I mentioned that I just removed, that morning, the heart monitor I had been wearing for 30 days. She went and got a blood pressure cuff and checked my blood pressure, which was high, for me. She was calmly empathetic, letting me know that if this was causing me too much anxiety we can always reschedule. I asked her to give me a brief time to do some calming breathing exercises, when she returned I was feeling a bit better and since I had already gone through the shots of Novocaine I preferred to keep going. Shortly thereafter a dentist appeared to check on me. I deeply appreciated their understanding care and concern for my state of being. Ramesh had mentioned they had just gotten food delivered for the office and she would be happy to share some with me if it would make me feel better, earlier she had offered sweets, thinking it could be a dip in my blood sugar. We continued with the treatment and I really wanted to give praise to Ramesh for going above and beyond Dental Care, to show sensitivity and understanding for my emotional well-being.
