Arlene made such a difference with our son! He was never a good sleeper from the beginning. He only slept 12 hours total per 24 hour period no matter what we tried - we used the Snoo, tried reading advice online, but nothing seemed to make his sleep better. He woke up frequently during the night and his naps were short and random. Once he turned four months old and was old enough to sleep train, we decided to find a professional sleep trainer. As parents, we were both very sleep deprived ourselves, and we wanted to build better habits for our son. I'm writing this review for Arlene, I feel I owe her one coz she helped our family three times, two times for my elder one when he was 13months and 3yr, one time for our second boy at 2yr recently. Arlene probably doesn't even know this that I referred her to my friends, they all got help from Arlene. I found Arlene in 2020 thru Yelp. She is very knowledgeable on what she is coaching and I told her with tears that I really don't want to see my baby cry, feel like it's a punishment, she corrected me that I'm helping my son to learn the sleeping skill that should benefit rest of his life. She said I'm a great mom and I'm doing the right thing(this is a great mental support for me, it made myself feel less guilty). She also educated us how kids work in addition, that Kids like testing boundaries, some reverse could happen after the sleeping habit is built, parents need to be consistent etc. I mean we weren't trained to be a parent, Arlene is a great teacher out there. She is generous to share all. My older son's first sleep training was done in 3days, yes, 3days, he was happy to stay in crib from where he never slept in crib before and was cosleeping with parents. Second sleep training was our boy got bigger and it's the transitioning from the crib to a big boy bed, that was smooth too. Then third one was recently my younger one was cosleeping with my mom for almost 2years, my mom was taking care of my younger boy 24/7 and my mom left US, we had to train the younger one to sleep in the crib by himself after the big life change. Third training was tough I have to say and Arlene said so too at the beginning, she wrote up a plan and follow up with me after I submitted my sleep log each time, she had made adjustments to the plan as things were moved a little slowly, now my younger boy doesn't cry for a second when we put him in crib, occasionally he cries a bit between 4-6am but he will go back sleep quickly without add'l help. I love seeing my kids sleep well and stay in crib with smiles. My husband said it's always refreshing after working with Arlene. Jenbert Jr. completed sleep training with Arlene in April 2020 at four months old, but I deliberately waited six months to write this review. Like other Yelpers, we were guilty of the same sins including inconsistency, rocking or bouncing to sleep, running to her crib upon hearing the first cry, etc. Sleep training was exhausting while in progress, but the efforts have paid off and it has been so rewarding. On the second night of sleep training, Jenbert Jr. was able to put herself back to sleep after waking up crying. On the fifth day, she took her first long independent nap. Even so, it took several months for the naps to come together for her, although the routine got very established and predictable and we learned how to read her sleepy cues. She usually does not cry when we put her down for a nap or at bedtime and then leave. I also consulted with Arlene when Jenbert Jr. was seven months old, and we were successfully able to transition her into sleeping in her own room with no sleep disruptions. It was as if nothing had happened! During the heat spells of August and September 2020, we moved Jenbert Jr around to different rooms in the house with the portable AC unit, trying to find the best spot for her and the unit. She took each night in a new place in stride, had no difficulties going to sleep initially, and did not have extra night wakings. Even my skeptical husband and mother-in-law, who don't trust most people and like to criticize things, will admit that sleep training with Arlene is worth every penny spent. My mother-in-law says that Jenbert Jr. has been the easiest of her grandchildren to put down at naptime. Mr. Jenbert and I love the regularity of the routine that she now has. And my mother is so impressed with Jenbert Jr's ability to put herself to sleep-- she says that she wishes that sleep training were an option when my siblings and I were growing up, as we were poor sleepers and there was even an instance where I slept for only five minutes in a 24-hour period. As Deborah J. Said in her review, we were left after two weeks feeling like we did not get a customized plan that worked for our child. After two weeks of minimal responses (not just one evening she had a family emergency) the plan was not adjusted we were just told to "continue to do what we were doing". It is unprofessional to leave a client without an outline of expectations or a window of working business hours. We did not at any point think or say we expected Arlene to work 24/7. She just got around to things at her leisure. Bottom line her program was not customized specifically for our son, it did not work after two weeks and her only response was a text saying "you may pay extra if you need any further assistance". This review is not from a tired sleep-deprived new mother, but from the perspective of an experienced mother who has seen a lot through the years. I raised 4 children to adulthood and now I am the grandmother of a little baby who started sleep training at 4 months. None of my children had sleep training when they were infants, it simply wasn't around back then, and that is one of the biggest regrets I have when I see the difference in how well my little grandbaby sleeps as opposed to how poorly my kids slept when they were little. I had to rock each one of my children to sleep back then, which they became dependent upon, and I didn't know I was inadvertently allowing myself to be manipulated through no fault of theirs. We suffered for about 2 months with the baby waking up once an hour or more. We hesitated about hiring a sleep consultant thinking that maybe it was something else we could do, like change the mattress, or circulate the air. I had already burned some PTO days due to lack of sleep so I really wish we had not hesitated to work with Arlene sooner. Would have saved us more in the end. Arlene was Awesome. Our son had several issues to work from regarding his sleep. co sleeping, bottle dependent, space constraints for his crib. Because of co sleeping and night time bottles it cascaded into several other issues, mid night changes, wet bed (our bed), cavities, we all had several mid night waking because of this. She worked out a plan that we were comfortable with and now our son sleeps in his crib, and doesn't need a bottle any more. Now all of us can sleep through the night. My wife and I worked with Arlene to teach our 9 month old to sleep on his own. We met with Arlene and she came up with a sleep plan for our baby. As a two time parent to my 2 month old newborn baby girl, I was advised by Arlene to purchase the Newborn Guidebook. I found the guidebook to be very useful and straightforward, which I could appreciate. I have been up late at night and all hours of the day researching and reading books and articles on how to get my newborn to sleep better. Hi, I hate to write a less than stellar review since Arlene is a very nice lady. Our 9 month old was having a hard time with naps and waking up a couple of times at night. We had already read multiple books on sleep training and our efforts were not successful. We hired Arlene because she has a 100% success rate and thought that she could provide some personalized consulting for our daughter. The first week, our daughter's night time sleep did get better, but she was skipping either one or both of her day time naps. The second week, her naps got better but her night time sleep got worse and she continued to keep waking up between 4 am and 5 am, when wakeup time is at 6 am. Arlene's advice was to not go in at all between 4-6 am and baby will learn to drag out the mornings. However our daughter continued to cry for the entire 1-2 hours until 6 am every morning...and continuing to cry even after we went and got her. After three weeks of this, we felt like this was unsustainable and not working. Arlene calls and says that our 2 weeks were up, she did stay with us an extra week but didn't provide any additional guidance. She pretty much then said "she didn't want to abandon us, but she doesn't know what else to do..." And then told us to go her her iron levels checked to make sure there wasn't anything medically wrong. So I waited till after we did the iron levels check to write this review, just in case it was that. However, her iron levels came back normal. So a few things: I felt like Arlene could have set expectations a bit better at the beginning. I kept asking her what "success " looks like but she said it was different from baby to baby. We did feel a bit abandoned after the three weeks and I feel like I had to write this review bc her faq says she has a 100 percent success rate...and obviously that's not true bc it didn't work with our daughter. We followed her advice and plan diligently. We also wished that when things weren't working after a few days, she would've provided some adjustments. However, she just kept saying "you're doing good, just keep going". After three weeks of that, obviously it wasn't really working. I felt like at the end of it, I paid for a individualized plan, but ended up with something we were pretty much already doing from what we have read in books and etc. Our daughter might be extra stubborn, but I felt like she didn't provide the expertise we were looking for. read more

Arlene was a wonderful guide through the sometimes-painful process of sleep training our son. We started as soon as he was old enough, 16 weeks, and Arlene provided the guidance and support we needed in order to get our sanity back. She helped us teach our son how to fall asleep on his own, and explained how to gradually wean him off night feedings as he got older. Yes, it involved some crying, which totally sucks. But Arlene explained that our baby was simply frustrated with a new set of expectations, and she gave us the confidence to keep going even when I started to doubt the process. Plus, he was crying anyway: he was too aware of the world to just doze off in our arms as he had when he was a newborn, but he didn't know how to fall asleep any other way, so he was often screaming in exhausted frustration as we tried to help him fall asleep with rocking, nursing, etc. Within a few days, he could go to sleep quickly on his own, usually with only a little crying. Naps took longer to get organized, but maybe a few weeks. Now at 8 months, we put him down at 7 pm and he falls asleep with no crying. If he wakes up in the night, it's only briefly and then he goes back to sleep. If he wakes before us in the morning, he just hangs out in his crib babbling to himself until we come to get him. He naps twice a day, usually for 2.5 hours in the morning and an hour in the afternoon. We have our evenings back and our baby is getting the rest he needs. We owe it all to Arlene!! Reaching out to Arlene is hands down one of the very best decisions my husband and I have made as new parents. I can say this unequivocally! We are first-time parents and after day one of working with Arlene, we looked at each other and said, "it's like we have a whole new baby." He had slept SOUNDLY through the night, for 11-12 hours, no feedings, for the very first time! There was no judgment or criticism about how we'd been doing things, just a lot of great gems that helped us to see the light! Sleep training is tough, of course. There were tears involved. However, from day one we noticed our son slept so much better which makes it so worth it. Honestly it made me wish he hadn't missed out on this quality sleep for the first several months of his life, but we can only focus on now. He's also much more mellow now--we thought he was just a hyper baby but he's been much more calm and content since this program. The things we learned from Arlene made that make sense, too. Don't expect miracles in the sense that this can only have a chance to work if you do the work Arlene teaches you to do (and remember that one baby might take longer to learn something than another--ours is doing amazing with nights but still working out some of his naps). But her program is very detailed and customized. My husband and I are still working on getting it down pat, but we made so much headway and have seen excellent results. We're going to keep it up. I emailed Arlene and she was really quick about emailing me back. I scheduled a free get-to-know-you phone call for the following day. It was a great conversation. She was very compassionate and provided a lot of confidence in her experience and education. I was ready to sign her on the spot, but my 6-month-old baby was a bit sniffly at the time and I also had a few busy days ahead that I wanted to get through before starting something new in my life. However, it is now 2 weeks later and my baby is now miraculously sleeping 7-8 hours on his own. We worked with Arlene as soon as our baby turned 4 months old and it was one of the best decisions we made. I had read dozens of books, research, and even attended a class but baby's sleeping was still a mess (he would only sleep ON a person). I felt like Iwas drowning in information (nothing like 3:30am frantic research); we were sleep deprived, desperate, and really needed a human to talk about this with and ask questions. I just got through with my two weeks with Arlene, and I cannot believe how much my life has changed for the better in that short amount of time. My daughter turned 4 months and the 4 month 'regression' hit hard. She went from sometimes sleeping in her bassinet to only sleeping on me or my husband for all naps and nighttime sleep!
