Today, on our visit, there were only 3 businesses open. A nail salon, jewelry, and a juice stand in the food court. I did talk to property management, and they stated they are renting out spots for office spaces, but that's it. The management was very nice answering all my questions. I'm sure this mall would be good to use on a rainy day to walk inside it, but that's about it. I have no plans to return after reading up more on the mall. In 2010, there was a gang fight that killed one person and injured 5 others. Unfortunately, it seems like Muskogee has a huge gang issue for some time, and it's still out of control. We did like our visits to Muskogee, but after finding out about the crime, we have no interest in returning to Muskogee. I hope the police department can get these issues under control because Muskogee has a lot of good to offer.

While the Arrowhead theater isn't going to "wow" anyone, I can remember when it was first remodeled from the super raggedy mall theater it had been before. The seats are much more comfortable, the screens are larger, and the movie offerings are better. Apparently, it has been bought out by B&B Theaters. I think ticket prices (around $9 for an adult) are reasonable, but my Muskogee standards, that might be a bit pricey. They do have matinees that are only $5, which to me is an absolute STEAL! The concessions cost less than any I have seen in years, which is also great. Now, it is still and always will be rough around the edges--they didn't have any napkins when we went the other night, which no one working there seemed to be aware of, so I called it to their attention. So, they brought out a roll of paper towels instead. I mean, they did the job but LOL. I'm generously giving them four stars because the Carmike Theater, which is the only other option in town anyway, is absolutely dreadful. Full. of. Dread.

We had seats in one of the theaters on the second level, which first of all I did not know they had theater on the second level. Apparently this area is 21 and over, which is amazing the theaters are smaller more intimate and no children. Best of all they have waiters that serve you full menu of food and drinks. I tried an Italian soda that was so good and very affordable for the size of the drink. I also tried some pretzel bites that came with beer cheese and spicy mustard. The portion size was actually quite large though still a little expensive but it's a movie theater so I did not mind. the fact that they bring all this to you and wait on you is just amazing. The seats recline they're comfortable. I love the smaller size theater. It was not too cold but very comfortable. There's trays that move on on the seats so you can have your food. It was just a wonderful experience.

Usually, we stay home and Firestick our way into movies and shows, mind you the popcorn popper machine we have at home is top notch. Yes prices are high, but you get what you pay for at the theaters. I had to see the Devil Wears Prada 2. Good movie, fun times. One bucket of refill popcorn for your buck, two drinks and a box of candy. Splurge a little if you can. There are retro movie nights on the lists too. I suggest prepay your tickets online so you can get the seats you want, rather than breaking your neck and wearing out your pupils in the first row. Have fun, and pick up after yourselves!!

It's been…read moreinteresting to see this town develop and grow as a result of Walmart and the people who moved here to work for Walmart or who work for vendors and suppliers that service Walmart. I could go with the "I remember when this was all farmland" but let's just say that this is the most cosmopolitan small city in the "Flyover States." Downtown Bentonville has pubs and bars and restaurants and retail shopping. This year, they have an ice skating rink with an actual Zamboni. There is public art and free modern parking decks and a world-class art museum (that's free to visit!). I learned that Bentonville is a mountain biking capital thanks to the investment of the Walton family to build trails throughout Northwest Arkansas. And tiny XNA that used to be Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport is now Northwest Arkansas NATIONAL Airport with regular commercial service to far away hubs including MSP and PHX and LGA and even FLL and MIA! The former US Highway 71 that was upgraded to Interstate 540 is now Interstate 49 and it connects I-40 with I-44 from Fort Smith to Joplin. Amazing! This evening, I had a chance to walk around the Bentonville Square which is all lit up for Christmas. What a great little city and well worth a visit!
