Drive 45 min arrive 30 min early to be told I can only play 9. Didn't tee off until 4:20 nearly one hour after arrival. Was left to manage a belligerently drunk 5 some ahead of us for the entire round. Escalated to the point the police were called. Upon arriving back to the clubhouse, furious about the lack of management I proceeded to ask for a refund. Joe the front desk clerk ran into the bathroom after being told there was a problem. I along with 2 others that I played the round with were there to converse about our experience and were shrugged off and ignored when he went upstairs saying there was nothing he could do. After waiting for over 30 min he finally came downstairs, called Stephen who I assume is the owner, and then was given approval to refund our round. I will never golf here again.

Unfortunately, however, the secret is out. Getting a tee time here is near impossible now. The course only opens up tee times five days out, and if you are not waiting online within 15 minutes of them going live, you have no chance playing anything but twilight on the weekends. A…read moreshort drive south of Nashville, Blackberry Ridge is now owned by the Phillips family and they were absolutely wonderful hosts to us when we arrived at their course. Very friendly and accommodating. The course itself needs some work, but they will be the first to admit that and it sounds like they are going to put in the work that it needs. I'm excited to return next summer and see the progress. Even when we played in November, the greens and tee boxes were still OK. My one main complaint is that the distance markers at the tee boxes and on the scorecard don't match up, and even when they do it is obviously apparent the distance is incorrect (I play frequently and know how far I hit my shots -- a few times I ended up in the water off the tee or WELL short of some hazard; so that's how I know the distances are off). Hopefully this is fixed come next spring. All in all, can't wait to play here again.

"Sorry all booked up and the back 9 is closed" You don't have any room anywhere to fit a 2some in? "Nope all booked up with 4somes." At 7:55 a 4 some OF WALKERS is the first to tee off. At 8:05 6 people on the tee box. Clearly some geriatric boys club booking all the Sunday tee times so that no one else can play. My grandpa and I could have teed off at 7:45 and been on hole 3 by the time the first 4some made it to 1st green. Truly absurd and me nor my grandpa who lives 3 miles away will ever be back.

At least the bare trees allow views of the surrounding lake which are mostly obscured in the summer. Starting in 2022 the Bear Trace courses are now collecting sales tax on greens fees which results in a price increase of almost 10% over the previous rates.

So smooth you'll want to roll a picnic blanket out and call it a day. Honestly, if your ball doesn't roll true here, that's on you, champ. The layout is fun, challenging, and just scenic enough to make you forget how many balls you've donated to the water hazards. It's the rare course where you'll finish 18 holes and think, "Yeah, I could do that again," even if your scorecard looks like a math problem gone wrong. Bottom line: Hermitage is a Nashville gem. Great condition, great vibes, and just enough beauty to distract you from your questionable swing mechanics.

This course was in horrible condition, one of the worst I have ever experienced. Almost every green was in very rough shape. Given the price point of this course (almost $80 for a round), the course conditions are absolutely unacceptable. As a cherry on top, the men's bathroom in the clubhouse was out of soap and paper towels. Management really needs to get their act together. Do yourself a favor, save your money and play anywhere else.
