Soft served margaritas flight.

My husband and I try to go at least once a week.I will start with the good! Food is amazing. Margaritas are solid love the drink specials! Love love the soft served margaritas! Place is always clean. Now the bad ... the service staff definitely need more training, in customer service. They need to hire a bar tender. We have had good experience with some staff members. We no longer see them anymore. I'm wondering if it's cause they are over worked. We seen at times the waitresses Having to make the drinks, while still wait on tables. On busy days! We went this Sunday 7-5-26. It was not busy at all.Knowing games are playing for the FIFA, you'd think they would have the games on. No chips and salsa were brought to our table, took forever to bring our alcohol drinks. Seen 3 staff people standing around on phones.I was looking around looking for our waitress I seen she was with a table. I made eye contract with Mr. Gustavo I gave him friendly waved at him. He looked over at where our waitress was. The face of annoyed and waived back at me.We are still sitting no chips, no drinks, and was just going to ask if someone can change it to a game. I kept staring at him, he finally came over annoyed. He asked another staff member to change the T.V. Still at this time you have staff workers standing around. The service at this place is getting really bad.We really miss the friendly waitresses they had before. This happened another time about service. Management was sitting in the little sitting area by the front door with waitresses, while we were waiting to get our bill. So we had to walk up to the register. I didn't see no point in addressing the matter to manager. We will just take our business to "Mi Patria"

Raspberry soft serve margarita

I'm basically reviewing this place for the soft serve margaritas because the food was pretty standard for a Mexican place (still good though!) I got a raspberry soft serve and my bf got a mango soft serve (which he said you couldn't really taste the alcohol in it and mine you could). Really delicious and refreshing! We went around 1:30, and it wasn't super busy, so maybe the people who have gotten melted soft serves went during a busy time? Overall good experience.

Nachos (I asked for shredded cheese and my beans on the side)

4.5 stars I thought it was pretty good. I came during lunch hours on a weekend and it wasn't busy at all. We got seated right away. They took our drink orders and brought us out some salsa and chips. I'm real big on salsa so they got me right when I tried their salsa. The salsa was very flavorful. On top of that, they had a salsa bar you can just walk up to so you can grab more hot sauces if you'd like to add to your salsa. I came when they had their birria ramen for their special. I saw it on the board when I walked in so we ordered it. The broth was very flavorful, and the meat was very soft and tender. The ramen they used was also very yummy. It came with some garnishes, radish, and chilli oil on the side. liked it a lot. I also tried their nachos. It usually comes with their cheese sauce, but I asked to replace it with shredded cheese. It was such a big portion that I couldn't even finish it. I feel like it's something that could feed two people. I asked for my beans on the side and that's exactly what they did. The nachos comes with both chicken and ground beef. The service here was amazing. The person that us and our server were both so nice. I will definitely be back to try some more of their other items.

This has been our first and only experience but I'm so disappointed in El Toro. Before anyone gets upset.....Yes, I did contact them. But I'd like to warn anyone who may want to have a party there..... I had spoken with the restaurant through email and facebook to set up a taco bar for a 16th dinner party (2 adults, 13 teens). We walked in just before 6pm for our 6pm reservation and were met with blank stares. The restaurant was empty. No one was sure what was going on. Someone from back said they're the party and we were walked into the "party room" - it looked NOTHING like the website. It was "repainted" but the whole place felt dirty and disorganized. There was a huge hole in the ceiling with buckets underneath and while we were eating, more of the ceiling fell. The tables were sticky, it was mismatched tables and crooked chairs, the ceiling was literally falling down, and to top it off, the tables weren't even set up in a way that would accommodate the whole party. It wasn't set up for us at all (I did let them know a final headcount the night before so that the seating would be arranged.) As we were trying to seat 15 people, 4 waitresses came in to get drink orders. It was very chaotic. It ended up that 2 of the girls had ordered large bowls of queso (they're 15) from a random waitress and they brought it out. This was not supposed to happen as there was a set menu. I did order a large queso (because who can have a taco bar without it) and ordered a $23 catering size. When the bill came, I had $40 in queso charges. There was also a catering fee (I was told it was for the chafing dishes, supplies, personnel but it would be waived if I had a waitress and paid the gratuity) - I of course paid the 18% in gratuity, then added cash, pieces of cake and cookies for the staff. When I asked about the catering, the waitress said she couldn't take it off. I asked through the FB messenger along with my concerns of the roof falling, sticky tables, etc. and was told that that wasn't true that I used ONE chafing dish so of course there was a catering fee. That's not what was said or agreed upon beforehand at all. I'd also like to say that the waitress was fantastic. She was working our room and the bar/tables, which was a lot! I did mention the ceiling to her and she told me there was a leak. I get it, but then move the party somewhere else. There were plenty of people waiting around beforehand that should have noticed it and set the party up somewhere else. It wasn't my responsibility to request that. Here's my big issues: it's bad enough that the space was completely misrepresented; it was worse when a ceiling tile fell down while we were sitting there eating (and the FB msg person tried to tell me that it wasn't an issue, the tile didn't fall, and it wasn't true but please see pics), but then the additional costs and brush off are just annoying and rude. I'm a single mom so this party that was supposed to be about around $200 ($10/per person) ended up being over $325. The food was fine but it tasted like every other Mexican restaurant in town, nothing special. It was our first and unfortunately our last at this establishment. ------------------------------------------------ Not important but also annoying: I also forgot to give them my phone number (that was attached to the reservation) when the bill came since they have loyalty points. When I asked about it later, I was told that they couldn't add it because it was considered a catering order (but if I had ordered online, I would have gotten the points).

Husband & I have came here twice for date night. Seated right away. Food was delicious. We had the street tacos. The staff was very nice. Enjoyed the music that was playing. We will be going back.

Chimichanga Enchiladas Supremas

Friendly staff greeted me with a smile and very quick service. This food is amazing and I think about this Chimichanga all the time when I'm not here. They have lots of TVs and always have great stuff on. They have a salsa bar on the weekend with so many different kinds. This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant in Middle TN!

We stopped here randomly for a Saturday lunch. They were moderately busy but got a table right away. They had the world cup soccer games on the tvs and many people were watching. Our server was FANTASTIC. Extremely attentive and quick. The chips and salsa are very good, lots of flavor! They also have a free salsa bar for other salsas. My husband had an Al pastor quesadilla and he said it was very flavorful and delicious. I got the ground beef tostadas. The ground beef was lacking some flavor and it was a little dry. The portions were great especially for the lower price. My husband said he would absolutely go back. I will go back and try a different meat. Overall, this place is worth a try!

Came by here with my mom one day to grab a late lunch to go. They weren't super busy but had a decent crowd. The bar was pretty busy and looked like it would be a cool place to hang out with friends. Our meals were pretty good, but need to come back and dine in, in order to get the real experience

Chicken Chimichanga with rice and beans

I tried this place when it first opened a couple of years ago. It shut down during the pandemic, but I had heard that it reopened under new ownership. So, we decided to try it again. My husband and I went on a Saturday night around 5:30pm. The place was fairly full, but they didn't seem super busy. We were greeted and seated right away. Their chips are salsa are good! We cleared off 2 baskets of chips and 4 servings of salsa. Fair warning: their salsa has a KICK! So, if you can't eat spicy food - this is not the place for you. My husband ordered the Grilled Shrimp El Toro and I ordered the Chicken Chimichanga. We enjoyed both of our dishes. The service was good and overall it was a pleasant experience.

Really enjoyed our experience here. Our waiter was full of happy energy that was just contagious. The food were good portions and not bad. Something was missing from the flavor but it was good. There are tons of Mexican restaurants around and nothing really stood out to me about the food saying it's the best. However its definitely worth the stop if driving by. If for nothing else the happy waiter

Visited U&I Restaurant and Bar and had the pleasure of meeting the charming Heidi (one of the…read morefamily owners) who took exceptional care of me. Even though she was the only serving staff for the evening, she was always smiling and a joy to talk with. This place has a diverse menu, there is no "cooking at your table" available at some Korean places. I started with the Shumai (steamed dumplings) and ordered the La Galbi along with a Kirin Ichiban beer. These dumplings are an amazing surprise...normally expect shrimp dumplings to be overpowering with the taste of shrimp, but not these. The seafood flavors were light, allowing you to taste shrimp and the other ingredients in the dumpling while a little "dip" into the sweet soy sauce made for an awesome appetizer. The La Galbi...marinated and grilled Korean BBQ beef short ribs were so good, you could taste the sweetness of the marinade, and the meat was so tender. There were several slabs of the short rib and along with the sides was a huge meal. You also get a few different sides like Kimchi (light heat), pickled Daikon radishes (slightly sweet and crunchy), Gamja-salad (slightly sweet Korean mashed potatoes salad), and Korean fish cake (kind of bland for me).  While not a "patio" they do have a dining area that when the shutters are opened, gives it a patio feel...overall the place is nicely decorated and comfortable. The food here is done really well and the service was great; I will be back again to try some of their other dishes like the Jjajjang-Myun and Bibimba.

I have debated whether to write this review. Based on other reviews, I suspect we visited on an…read moreevening where something really bad had happened. However, I think it is important to share our experience. I made a reservation for my family of four to celebrate my wife's birthday. I had heard great things about the restaurant, and we are always on the lookout for new places to try. We arrived on time, and were immediately seated. The person that seated us commented, "I have a very nice table for you." Water was provided for the table right away. And then, nothing. We were not given menus. It was several minutes before we even saw any server at any other table. As we looked around the room, we could see there were other patrons who were also being neglected. A couple sitting at one table nearby had menus, but no one took their order. After about 15 minutes, a young man came by the table and asked if we were waiting for our orders. We told him we had not even been given menus yet. He said, "Oh, I'm so sorry! I will get you some menus." He left, but never returned. Finally, my daughter, who is a server at another restaurant in Murfreesboro, went to the front desk and asked for menus. She was provided menus and told the restaurant had several employees "call out" for the evening. We looked over the menus and discussed ordering some appetizers, but no one ever came to take our order. The couple I mentioned earlier finally decided to leave without ordering. As they made their way to the door, an employee apologized to them and told them if they would stay, they would take their order. Meanwhile, at the table behind us, food was delivered. One of the patrons at the table remarked that the dish they ordered was supposed to have chicken, but there was no chicken in the dish. The server apologized and said -- I'm not kidding -- "I can go to the kitchen and get some chicken, and you can add it to the dish." At this point, we decided to leave. As we made our way to the door, the person that seated us noticed and asked if we were leaving. We told her we were, and left. I normally would not leave a negative review based on a single visit, but this experience was possibly the worst I have ever had anywhere. I hope this is an isolated incident that occurred when the restaurant was experiencing an extraordinarily bad night. I would like to give U&I another chance at some point. If I do and the experience is better, I will update this review.

For starters, the location is down an alley way, hidden off the main area of the Square in the Boro. To get to the speakeasy, you have to find the door, use the phone, and answer a riddle to speak the 'password' to get in. Neat concept and adds to the fun of the overall experience. The cons: - A cover charge - and a healthy one, at that. - Every cocktail, small plate/appetizer, dish, dessert, etc. is on the very high end of price points, and that's even for a Nashville spot - not even considering this as a niche location in the burbs. - For the prices, exceptionally small portions/servings of the food options. We left paying over $150 for our evening and both my wife and I were still hungry... The pros: - Service was fantastic. Extremely friendly from the owner to the bartenders to the servers. No complaints there at all. - My wife took me for my 40th birthday, and they helped significantly make it a special celebration while we were there. A special dessert with "4-0" candles, a rousing musician-led, crowd-involved rendition of "happy birthday" was sung in my honor, and overall just a very enjoyable experience. - Atmosphere was fun and inviting without being too much/stuffy. - The interior of the speakeasy is opulent, small, and cozy, featuring enough room for probably no more than 20-25 people total. - The drinks were very, very good. Overpriced, sure - but at least they were well made and tasty. - The food was absolutely fantastic. Great flavors and seemingly fresh, quality ingredients - well prepared. Overall, a very neat, fun, well thought out experience and something to say we've done - BUT unfortunately with the cover charge, pricing of the individual drinks, food items, etc., it prices us out of frequent enjoyment. We would go with a small group for kicks, but will likely not return otherwise, which is a shame.
