I called to setup monitoring for my home in Texas and they claimed they were licensed, but according to the Texas Online Private Security government site (TOPS) their license is expired! Not very good communications. Very little emails didn't let me know that the product I ordered was back ordered. I called 3 times. The first time they seemed annoyed that I called to find out when it was coming they said by the end of the week. The 2nd time I told them I wanted to check on my order they put me on hold and then it went to voicemail. I called right back after that the 3rd time they finally told me that it wouldn't arrive for 2 weeks I cancelled my order. Called another company. my order came in a few days. Didn't trust them to use them as a monitoring co if they can't get a order right. They seem to use the computer more then others but can't communicate with you. read more

I can only compare Geoarm to that "big" alarm company that took over for various smaller businesses. Geoarm's monitoring price is good, setup assistance has been excellent and they do not claim to have roped you into a contract for life. If you have confidence to touch your alarm panel and move a few (low voltage) wires around, you should be able to do as I just recently did and connect a cellular device in place of an old phone line. With Geoarm's help it took me a half hour to be sure it was activated and tested. read more

I just switched over to Geoarm.com from another company that was charging too much. I was able to use my own equipment, and a technician walked me through the setup process over the phone. Drew was extremely helpful and patient, and the entire setup took less than 40 minutes to complete. I have not yet experienced their monitoring, since I just switched, but so far I am a fan! The only complaint I have is that their ordering website is a little hard to navigate, with too many paths and choices to get to the same place. If they can streamline the online ordering process, I'd give the company 5 stars! read more

I'd give negative stars if I could. I was advised it was only $8 a month for my doorbell to function, not for the company to monitor it or anything else; just to function. Less than 24 hrs. after signing up for service, my card was charged $1 twice and then $11 dollars. I called the company back the following day, inquiring about the charges. He advised the dollar charges were normal and the $11 dollars were for the end of the month and the following month. I explained since those charges were not disclosed to me, I got a bad feeling about the company and requested to cancel the service; less than 24 hrs. Of having it. The individual advised I'd have to cancel in writing, stating he would forward an email to me so I could cancel the service and stated I would not get a refund. I never got the email! So I called my bank to cancel my card. A month later, I'm getting calls to update my credit info for the service. I call & spoke with customer service whom advised to go to the web site and cancel from there; he apologized for them not following up and sending the email they said they would. After submitting the cancelation, I get a call from "Steve" ext. 114; he is inquiring about my cancelation...I explained to him why I canceled. I told him, I removed the doorbell after speaking with his company. He said then you didn't cancel cause of the fees, you canceled cause you no longer use the service. I said no, I just told you why I canceled; don't try to change what I said. He proceeded to yell into the phone "that's bullshit." See original below the line -- an accurate account, but more has happened that softens my opinion. This is an update to share new activity. A couple hours after I was told they couldn't help and only had technicians until 5 ET, Drew (who was the one who told me to call the following day) called me back to continue working to get activated. I only waited until 6 ET and had left the property because I had been told that techs only work until 5. Drew set a time to call the following day (today). I went back to the property, Drew called, resolved a wiring problem (that I caused), got me all set up and tested. All is well as far as I can tell. I was still concerned about reliability of monitoring, given the previous customer service; however, we came back to the house this evening, turned off the alarm, and then immediately received a call. It was their monitoring station just letting me know that the battery was low on our system. That made me feel a little better about the monitoring being on the ball. I changed to a 3/5 rating, the average a generous appraisal of 1/5 yesterday and Drew's 5/5 today. I'm giving them a try and am cautiously optimistic. ----------------------------- ORIGINAL REVIEW: Very poor customer service. System was monitored by a different company until a couple weeks prior. I waited on hold multiple times with GeoArm to get info to sign up. Filled out form they sent then called and waited again. There was yet another form to complete. This time, not much of a wait. They couldn't seem to get the system set up and tech had to get off the line for another appointment. He asked me to make one physical change to the system and call him back the same time the following day; so I drove out to the property (we don't live there yet) again, did what he asked and called a little earlier. Business must be booming at Geoarm when you can disregard interested customers ready to give over a credit card. After looking at ADT and Frontpoint, I decided I could do a DIY alarm system much cheaper. After doing my research online I discovered Geoarm. I was able to find the equipment slightly cheaper online elsewhere. But since I wanted to use the alarm.com monitoring sold through Geoarm, and they offered a price match guarantee, I challenged them to beat the competitors price. I got a call back from Cole saying they could meet the price. I called back with my credit card to make the purchase for the hardware as well as get the monitoring setup. After recieving no call back, I even tried one more time. I called and left a second message with Kevin and said I'm trying to place an order and that Cole should return my call. Again, no return call. Pretty amazing that things are going so well that it's not worth a call back for an interested customer! At this point, i'll take my business elsewhere. I ordered in March, delivery was not until the end of April. I called and made sure what I ordered would work with my existing system. I tried to install and it was not the correct system so I had to order another part, so I did. It never showed up and I asked for a refund of all of it. I spoke to a Steve and he agreed to give me a full refund. I sent the one item that showed up back at my cost, and did not get a credit for two weeks. I called, emailed, and left voice mails to no avail. I had to contact my credit card company to get my money back and they only refunded me part of it. I now am fighting for the rest of my $100 no including what my cost was to send the item back. Once they had my money they did nothing to return it to me and now i am fighting a month later for my $100 back that they kept from a unit that would not work. The kicker was they told me what they were shipping me would be phased out and if it was not installed by 5/31 it would not work. They promised it would be to me on the 28th. On the 28th I called and was told it would ship that day. That was after they told me it was going to ship on the 22nd to get to me on time. They lied to me three times and now have refused to honor what Steve at extension 114 told me to refund me all my money because they lied about the compatibility, the shipping, and the unit being able to work. I was going to let them refund me and get a new system, but I will never work with these people again. Be wary of the negative reviews here, if you are looking for full service (and full price) go with ADT or one of the big guys. However, if you are willing to get your hands dirty and enjoy learning and tinkering in order to also save ALOT of money, go with GEOARM. Ordered a system for my business in Georgia. Just before I placed it online I called to ask some questions. Sort of got answers but not really. They also promised me that the system would be shipped within 24 hours and would arrive the following week. That didn't happen. I wasted a flight because they didn't ship until 2 weeks later. I ordered a system for my home July 4th. It's August 3rd. No response to three emails to customer service. Credit card was charged already. I switched my alarm monitoring service to GeoArm over a year ago. My bill for my service was cut by 40%. I am saving $315/year. Even though my bill went down, the quality of service was not affected. In my opinion, my service went way up from my previous provider. The transition to GeoArm was quick and efficient. I had an issue with my cellular communicator, which was not GeoArm's fault, and they handled that as promptly as could be expected. I installed the new communicator and they handled the activation with a quick phone call and no charge. Try and get that level of service from other alarm companies. I had one other tech support issue and it was handled once again promptly and without charge. I just had to make an appointment online and they returned my call at the proper time. My local could not provide service like that. I know because I tried a couple of times before I switched to GeoArm. The service from the central station is second to none. Once the alarm is tripped, they get the signal and call within seconds to see if help is needed. I know this because we have accidentally caused a few false alarms. If a panic button is pushed, then no call is sent because they immediately dispatch the proper authorities be it fire, EMS, or police. The service is dependable and is 24/7/365. This service was originally cheaper than my other monitoring company but then became more expensive when I didn't renew my contract and went month to month in plans of selling my house after being a loyal customer for over three years. For the past FOUR MONTHS GeoArm has had my Township and County wrong, and called police that are TWO HOURS away from where I actually live. Here's how I found out... At approximately 8:15am on 2/19 I accidentally opened my back door before disarming the alarm. I was called immediately by GeoArm. I couldn't remember the passphrase, and couldn't reach my husband who was out of town, so police were alerted. Time passes and no police arrive. I call my local non-emergency police number. They have NO call from GeoArm and have not dispatched anyone to my residence. Meanwhile I reach my husband for the passphrase and I call back GeoArm. They have told me that the police have all ready been alerted. I state that I understand and expect that, but that no police have arrived, and that my local police have stated they've received no call from GeoArm. I believe I spoke to a "Jonathan" at GeoArm's dispatch number who became extremely rude and argumentative towards me, stating repeatedly that the police WERE alerted. I stated that I UNDERSTOOD what he was saying, but to listen to what *I* was saying... that it's been 15-20 minutes now and NO police have arrived and my local non-emergency police dispatcher is telling me that he hasn't received a call from GeoArm... so SOMETHING IS AMISS. I asked if I could give him the number that the police gave me, as they have a specific number for alarm company's to call in on. Jonathan made a rude statement along the lines of I must think I have a better number for the police than they have. Well clearly something is wrong here otherwise the police would be at my door? After continuing to argue with me, Jonathan finally told me that he can't do anything to help me anyway and transferred my call. I get transferred to Ralph. To my surprise and chagrin, Ralph is also rude and argumentative. I explain to Ralph that something must be amiss here because what I'm being told by GeoArm is NOT what I'm being told by my local police. Ralph says that he will call the police number that they have on file to confirm things and call me back. Ralph calls me back and states that the police did indeed come to my home, didn't see any signs of a break in, and left. I ask Ralph if he called the police for the "town of Washington, Washington Township, Warren County?", Ralph says yes. I explained to Ralph that I've been standing at my front door this entire time (about an hour now) and that NO police came. I state again that something is CLEARLY wrong here, and that I would be dead if this was an actual robbery instead of my own human error. Ralph is dismissive of my concerns and continues to tell me that the police came and all of the information GeoArm has is correct and that I am wrong. (Disturbing how both Ralph and Jonathan have this same sort of attitude towards me.) I ask for the telephone number that he called. It has an 856 area code. My local police have a 908 area code. I explain that this is weird. Ralph doesn't seem to think so and dismisses my concerns. He gives me his personal number if I have any more questions. His personal number however, does not work. I continue to investigate because I KNOW something is not right here. I call the 856 number. It is for the police in Woolwich Township (Gloucester County). Not Washington Township (Warren County). Coincidentally, there is the same street name in Woolwich Township (Gloucester County) as my street name in Washington Township (Warren County), so the police were sent to the wrong address by GeoArm. For the past FOUR MONTHS GeoArm has had my Township and County wrong, and called police that are TWO HOURS away from where I actually live. Since Ralph's number doesn't work, I call into GeoArm's main number and speak to a representative named Justin. I explain as simply as I can what has occurred. I ask if I can PLEASE give him the correct 908 number for my local police. I tell him that I am in the "town of Washington, Washington Township, Warren County". He says he needs to call the 856 number to confirm. I tell him that's not the police for my Township and County, but he puts me on hold to call them anyway. Justin comes back on the line and in a frustrated and annoyed manner asks me for the "correct" 908 numbers that I've tried to give him already (the misogynistic attitude towards me continues...) and he calls them to confirm. He comes back on the line and claims he has now changed my information. No apology. No offer to return the four month's I've paid them with the INCORRECT information on file. No nothing. Just that it's been changed now. I ask Justin if I may speak to Ralph's superior. I'm sent to a voicemail. Several hours go by and I'm called back by I believe a Steve. GUESS WHAT. I cannot get a hold of the proper person when I actually get through, and emails are not returned at all. I signed up for Geoarm monitoring and purchased over 500 dollars of equipment. They were very responsive about getting me online, and I signed up for 13 months to get a one month free. I have been waiting almost 13 weeks for the equipment. They never contacted and told me there would be a delay. When I inquired about out when I would be getting the equipment they kept saying theirs a delay in the distribution company. They informed me they don't have the material it comes from a distribution company that they have no control over. 13 weeks later I received a box with only part of the equipment. Of course, when I called today, they couldn't tell me why and would have to get back with me. This company is great. I am a DIY home alarm installer doing this for the first time. I hooked up my Alexor Wireless system a little over a year ago with GeoArm. Kyle Graham & Jason Ortiz (I save all my emails) helped to coordinate a time to enter in the right dial up numbers and to do initial testing. They were professional and courteous and efficient. I just recently today did some of my own testing (its good to test things out at least once a year) and it was simple just calling their 1800 # and the ladies that answered at the central station put my account in test mode..1 hour later I called back and they gave me a summary of the various triggers that went off. You need to do the due diligence and put the time in to read the instructions manual to install/setup your system correctly on your end. I spent many hours reading the manual and making sure I was comfortable with everything before hooking up the monitoring service with Geoarm. If you aren't ok with doing that then you should go with an ADT or Slomin shield type, but you will pay likely quintuple per month if not more for the monitoring service as opposed to with Geoarm and be held hostage to their system as those other providers won't give you the installer codes. read more

I recently transferred my existing alarm monitoring to GeoArm, ostensibly to save a significant amount of money. The transfer was delayed by my previous provider, Brinks, holding on to my alarm connection for the entire 30 days their service agreement permitted. GeoArm was very good about keeping in touch with me and checking to see if the system had been released during the process. The actual transfer took only about 30 minutes, most of it waiting for my alarm panel to reboot and for system testing. The process was painless and the technician was very personable. I'm very pleased that I was informed of the phone number the central station would be calling from to report/verify an alarm. With that, I can assure that Caller ID reports a meaningful name in lieu of an 800 number, which my prior monitoring company used, Since I don't answer unknown 800 calls, I missed a few alarms previously. So far, so good. I'll follow up when I chalk up some experience with some real or false alarms. read more

I ordered some alarm equipment from this companies website back in the middle of January. It stated that the items were in stock and takes 2 to 3 weeks to ship. I thought that was crazy but went along with it. I checked with them after 2 weeks and asked where my order was, after all they charged my credit card immediately so I'm out the money and want the product. The person that emailed back said they have another week and to ask after that time if I don't receive the order. I waited another week and a half, nothing. I emailed again and they assured me they would get the product from the vendor and send it out shortly, admitting that they didn't have it even though their website said it was in stock. Long story short it's March 2, I never received the order, they can't get the items and I'm still waiting to get my money back. I'll probably have to file a fraud report with my credit card company. I'll never do business with these people again, they just take your money and string you along for weeks for nothing. Very unethical. read more

SCAM Alert!* Worst customer service experience of my life! Besides generally not being an effective system the manager was abominable. I had called to cancel our service over a month ago, received a client ID and filled the cancellation of service form out online as instructed by customer service. A month later the manager, Steve Rosenthal, is calling again to collect another $31 claiming that the service was never cancelled. After discussion of the cancellation protocol he called my husband and I a liar and that we were merely evading a bill. He admitted that the client ID (the only way to cancel) was incorrect. I asked him what the correct ID would be and he wouldn't give me my own account number until I gave him a credit card number (Convenient!) I responded that his customer service was horrific to which he claimed that we weren't even customers anyways so that it was completely acceptable! The other convenient fact is that he apparently has his talons in all aspects of the company and even when we called back to speak to another supervisor Steve instructed him hang up on us until we gave him a credit card number to pay this outstanding bill! I have been a GeoArm customer for 5 months and I am happy with their service. I inadvertently deleted some zones in my alarms programming and technical support from Geoarm was very professional, helpful, and polite in their response. The technician patiently talked me through each zone, had me reprogram them correctly, and then had me test the system to make sure everything was working right and that my family was being protected. The cost of Geoarm monitoring is more than reasonable compared to their competitors and I am happy I choose them to provide my monitoring services. read more

I don't understand why Yelp "filters" all of this company's good reviews and only shows the negative unless you enter a capture phrase. I am a legitimate customer of this business who is NOT being compensated to write this review. When I first set up my alarm with GeoArm, Kyle knew exactly what he was doing and was not "reading from a book." He knew exactly how to program the alarm and knew exactly the sequence of numbers for me to press on the keypad to reset my alarm system to default and delete out the installer codes from my previous company. Their services are reasonable compared to other companies such as ADT, Vector, etc. I pay $25 per month on a one year commitment for cellular monitoring. This is almost half of what other companies charge! Anytime my alarm has gone off I've received a phone call in a minute or less, and periodically I receive emails about the alarm such as when the battery is low, etc. Regarding the costs of their equipment, I'm sure you can get it cheaper on eBay and Amazon. If you choose to buy your security products from another company, I don't think they "screw you" by charging you for tech support. I was told that the cost to help me program a fire alarm purchased on Amazon was $25 or would be at no charge if I bought the part through them and had monitoring. That's fair. Finally, regarding their employees being rude... I have not had a negative experience with their customer service or technical support departments. My one rude interaction, which is why I rated them four stars and not five, was with an employee who most customers will never speak to throughout their relationship with GeoArm. read more

I live in Boynton Beach (10-20 minutes away)I request a service call. I was quoted $120.00/ hour . It will take 3 hours. (I needed help with programming) Plus (+) $60.00 for a part to operate alarm via internet, plus (+) Monitoring alarm at $10.00/month insisting I needed monitoring. I DID NOT WANT MONITORING ! If you have a problem as we did, our phone technician was unable to transfer our alarm to their system. His solution, "It must be your phone line, contact your phone company". He was reading his directions to us from a book, gave us incorrect codes, (we were told by the technician I had to hire for an emergency visit) GeoArm left our business which is at high risk for theft, without alarm service and you have absolutely NO WAY of talking to a human being if it is after business hours. This is a huge problem as we are on the West Coast and they are on the East Coast. So after 2pm PST you are in big trouble. Then when I called to complain of what I consider an extremely egregious situation. Their "Customer Service" was unbelievably RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL AND UNHELPFUL and mainly UNCARING. I am so disappointed in this company and their response to a problem. I would forewarn people to be aware if you have a problem with these guys. They absolutely could care less about you!
