Edit 09/25/2013: I'm happy to report I received a call from Joe the President of GeoArm. The situation is being rectified with cooperation from both sides. I will admit, I'm impressed with Joe's concern with customer satisfaction. Original Review/History: My experience with GeoArm to date has been unsatisfactory. Due to complications beyond my control, I have not been able to fully install the alarm equipment that I purchased from them on June 26th, 2013. When I noticed a monitoring charge on my credit card this month from August, I proceeded to call GeoArm. Which leads to my first concern. Fully expecting that the charge was an oversight as they have neither programmed my system nor had they initiated any monitoring service. When I called, I instead found out that the charge was not an accident. The following dissatisfying conversation occurred; the individual to whom I spoke suggested that I should be "grateful" that GeoArm didn't start billing me until 36 days after my equipment purchase instead of the normal 30 days. After a brief conversation of, "what do you want me to do? You're not being very flexible" and my response over and over of "I want to be refunded the charged amount and not pay until my equipment is installed and online", GeoArm first suggested that I call back later and ask to have my account suspended, I asked why the individual couldn't do it right now. He reluctantly admitted that he could. Then I asked for proof of the suspension, the response was, "well, if you see a change next month you will know if it was or wasn't suspended." My suspicion is that I will see another charge next month. My second and even larger concern with GeoArm has to do with the fact that they are selling outdated equipment. I initially ordered an iGSMv dual path communicator on June 26th. Three days later Honeywell discontinued the iGSMv and replaced it with the iGSM 4g which will accommodate AT&T's planned obsolescence of 2G service in January of 2017. As soon as I realized it was a discontinued model, I called suspecting that they would be reasonable and give me some sort of credit toward the new model. Instead, I received a flat answer of "no, nothing we can do, its beyond 30 days." As of today (August 13, 2013), GeoArm continues to sell the discontinued model to unwitting customers. They don't seem particularly concerned about customer satisfaction and my prediction is that if they continue to do business in this manner, they won't be able to be your provider of alarm services in the future as they will be out of business. read more

I can't believe the negative reviews I am seeing on here. Based on the great customer service I got, I have to say this is one of the best companies I have ever dealt with. I think many of those who posted negatively are trying to be DIY alarm installers, but possibly don't quite know what they are doing. Home security is something that takes quite a bit of learning to master. You can't just read a few websites online and think you are an expert. From someone who used to be a professional installer I absolutely stand behind this company. To get my monitoring started it only cost me a $1 activation fee and $15 per month with no contract. They shipped out a Telguard TG-1 Express to connect to my panel for cellular monitoring. Unfortunately my neighbor decided to steal my package and refused to return it. I had to file a complaint with the postal service, and Geoarm stood right by me and did everything they could to get things resolved, they even offered to send me out a new unit at no additional charge. At first I was worried that I might lose money if the package was not recovered, but Geoarm customer service assured me that I would not be held responsible, which was a huge weight lifted off of my shoulders. With their help I did get the item back from my thief of a neighbor (Best Choice Auto Sales in Sayreville, NJ). I installed the device and got a phone call from tech support to test the system and make sure everything was ok. Worked like a charm. Now I have the assurance that even if an intruder cuts my phone line, my system will still be able to communicate with the monitoring center. And the $15 per month was no more expensive than my old alarm company, which only had phone line monitoring. For those who want to trash this company because you don't know what you are doing, turn your alarm needs over to a professional installer who knows what he is doing. Don't get angry at someone else just because you don't know what you are doing, or many are in my opinion putting forth false reviews (probably competitors). As far as people saying their response is slower, I beg to differ. When I was with my old company, it took as long as five minutes for them to call after an alarm. I accidentally set off my system with Geoarm and they called right after I disarmed the system. Thank you Geoarm for such great service. read more

What got me to check out other systems was a major alarm company (rhymes with haydeetee) raising my rate to more than $50 per month! I was with that other company for more than 25 years, and I decided I'd had enough. I wasn't under contract, so I contacted Geoarm after a few folks recommended them. I chatted online with an agent who guided me to the new communicator I would need for my system (I wanted a cellular wireless unit). I ordered that on Amazon (Geoarm carries them too, for a few extra bucks), and it arrived. I disconnected the communicator from the existing system, called the old company to cancel (disconnected first so they couldn't "brick" my system remotely), and AFTER the cancellation went through, they offered to cut my rate to $26 (still nearly TWICE what I'm paying with Geoarm). I told them no thanks. I hooked everything up to my existing alarm box, and scheduled an appointment with one of their installers to get it activated. Less than 30 minutes after he called, I was up and running with my existing panel and sensors, the new communicator was working flawlessly, and now I will save more than $420 per year on alarm monitoring. Geoarm has online videos to help you if you're pretty good with a screwdriver, and installer Bradley Finger talked me through every step of the way, even reprogramming my system to the new communicator, via the keypad. Geoarm has things figured out down to the smallest detail, so your "takeover" of the evil giant's system is smooth as silk. In this day and age of marginal (if that!) customer service, provided by folks in another country who don't speak the language, it's really refreshing to have found a company in the US with people who know what they're talking about, who are there when you call, and who provide a level of service WAY above and beyond the multi-billion-dollar giant companies. I am SO thankful I found Bradley Finger and his company, and I look forward to years of great service from them. Yes, this is a glowing review, but it's real. I'm so elated at saving this much money, and taking business away from a company that I paid more than $12,000 in monitoring fees over 25 years, who just kept stiffing me over and over. I have had the good fortune of being a GeoArm Security customer for a couple of years now. My original local security system installer left town unannounced, and I had no way to program my system any longer since he left town with my programming code. The system had become useless. I wanted to be able to keep my present system,since I liked the custom features, and it was already paid for. I did not want to have to add a whole new system and equipment from one of the national chain company's, since their systems are generally very basic to the point of being too minimalistic and their monitoring is way to expensive. I happened to learn about GeoArm on the internet. Boy, was that a great find. My experiences with them have been nothing less than 5 star. The alarm monitoring division is the most responsive I have ever experienced AND very reasonably priced. With other companies, it is not always this way. GeoArm monitoring calls right away if there is any alarm or tamper every time. But what is a real surprise in this world where good service is not always a priority, and pretty hard to find without paying through the nose, their tech support is available to help over the phone or via appointment with ANY issue or problem you experience with your system. Just last Friday, Joe spent an hour with me helping me program in my new CO2 sensor. He also helped me with a couple of other programming issues, and the cost was nothing. They carry all the parts I need, and their prices are very competitive. When I first contacted them two years ago, they (Ralph and Joe) were able to help me get my system re programmed and running again with only the addition of a new controller and some coaching. I was able to salvage my system due to their willingness to walk me through the necessary programming steps. They have helped me become more comfortable with my system, and its operation. I have been with GeoArm Security over 6 years now. Having started out in an apartment and then moving into my first house during the 2nd year, the staff was very friendly and worked with me to get the account setup at the new location. The customer service team and alarm monitoring team are both top notch and helpful. I can tell from the energy in their voices that they love what they do and truly love working for their company. I have had my smoke detector go off a few times, caused by the oven smoking, I was thoroughly impressed with the professional, yet friendly call I received approximately 10 seconds thereafter asking me for my false alarm passcode. The peace of mind I get when monitoring center calls me this quickly to make sure everything is OK, was impressive and has reaffirmed my choice in them. I recently upgraded my system to the wireless 4G cellular communication and love it. Once again, GeoArm was friendly and provided me with an easy to watch video on how to snap in the device. The Touch display in the master bedroom works great and is high tech. I have been loving the interactive alerts that are now sent to my smartphone (my iPhone and my wifes Droid) as well as being able to arm and disarm the system remotely with the easy to use app. I am thinking about adding the home automation so I can unlock my front door in the not so distant future. Over the 6 years, I have only had to replace the batteries in the door contacts and motion sensors once because they are long lasting lithium ones (originally I wa concerned about this but was told they last a long time and they were correct). If you are looking for a alarm system, great customer service and customer loyalty, this is the company for you. read more

After narrowing done the list to ones that I believed would suit my needs, I'm glad that I decided to go with Geoarm. At first the main website seemed overwhelming. Just looking at it, made me scratch my head trying to choose the right one. Finally called. I don't know if they only one Tech or I just got lucky but I've called several times over a period of about 6 weeks, trying to get the feel of the company and everytime I got a gentleman named Drew. Even when I finally decided to go with the company, the person who talked me through the setup process was once again, Drew. Now I have to say, that I called another company (I won't say which one) but I told them the system I have and they told me that I have to buy another control panel to make it work and that it was only $178 for $15 per month. With Geoarm, the system I have was no problem! I gave Drew all the info he needed, went in there and made it happen. No buying anything extra, $18 a month, Heck with the old company..I didn't even have an app to control it on my phone. With Geoarm, $18 monthly, no contract, phone control, no purchasing anything extra..... I have to say...I am really happy I made the right chose by going with them. Drew was super patient, incredibly knowledgeable and really made the whole transition and install easier than I thought. Thank you Geoarm for having employees like him to make a customer, feel comfortable and satisfied that I went with your company to monitor my system. If all of your employees are dedicated and work like him, I'm sure I can be at peace that if and when...my alarm goes off....your company will be on it and help secure my property. read more

Before giving my review, I just wanted to state that Geoarm is waiving my renewal fee as a thank you for writing a positive review. Because of what the FTC states with regards to companies rewarding people for reviews, I felt like I should preface my review with that statement. With that being said, I've recommended Geoarm to my neighbors multiple times and I will continue to refer people to them as a very good alarm monitoring service. I would not write this review (even to save money) nor recommend Geoarm to my neighbors if I truly did not think they are a great alarm monitoring service. I have used Geoarm to protect my house for the past year. We've been pleased with the promptness and responsiveness of this service, even more so given the highly competitive and reasonable price we get with our yearly contract. We already had our own equipment installed in our house, and Geoarm assisted us in making sure everything worked well when we initially signed up. We've accidentally set off our house alarm multiple times at various times of the day and in the middle of the night, and we've either called them to have it turned off or they've called us to make sure everything is okay within 2 minutes or less. Often times, they end up calling us as we call them. The people we've talked to during these accidental alarms are always courteous and understanding. They get the alarm turned off as soon as we verify our identities. Thankfully we have not had a real emergency, but I am confident that they will respond quickly and efficiently if that ever happens. After all, we've had many trial runs in which Geoarm has proven themselves to us over and over. read more

I don't understand why Yelp "filters" all of this company's good reviews and only shows the negative unless you enter a capture phrase. I am a legitimate customer of this business who is NOT being compensated to write this review. When I first set up my alarm with GeoArm, Kyle knew exactly what he was doing and was not "reading from a book." He knew exactly how to program the alarm and knew exactly the sequence of numbers for me to press on the keypad to reset my alarm system to default and delete out the installer codes from my previous company. Their services are reasonable compared to other companies such as ADT, Vector, etc. I pay $25 per month on a one year commitment for cellular monitoring. This is almost half of what other companies charge! Anytime my alarm has gone off I've received a phone call in a minute or less, and periodically I receive emails about the alarm such as when the battery is low, etc. Regarding the costs of their equipment, I'm sure you can get it cheaper on eBay and Amazon. If you choose to buy your security products from another company, I don't think they "screw you" by charging you for tech support. I was told that the cost to help me program a fire alarm purchased on Amazon was $25 or would be at no charge if I bought the part through them and had monitoring. That's fair. Finally, regarding their employees being rude... I have not had a negative experience with their customer service or technical support departments. My one rude interaction, which is why I rated them four stars and not five, was with an employee who most customers will never speak to throughout their relationship with GeoArm. read more

I bought a security system a couple years back from another company and recently completed my contract with my old provider. After an exhaustive review of home security companies, I found GeoArm. After filling out all the necessary forms, I was contacted a few days later to set up my monitoring. Drew was extremely helpful when it came to programming and setting up my system. He was very patient and even took the time to point out a few features that I wasn't even aware my system was capable of! I was very surprised at the level of customer service I received for installing a DIY security system that I didn't even purchase from them. Most companies want to charge you a fee for helping you program a system that they didn't sell you...but not GeoArm! And their Central Station.....LIGHTNING FAST!!! I have never seen a Central Station respond so quick to an alarm signal! I have GSM/Cellular monitoring, and I accidentally tripped my alarm. I swear it wasn't 10 seconds between the alarm sounding and the phone ringing...it was the Central Station calling to make sure everything was OK! I was like WTF?!?! I have NEVER seen a Central Station react so quickly to an alarm! Kudos to GeoArm and their top-notch customer service and lightning quick monitoring.....I will be a customer for life!!! read more

I researched Geoarm for a while and let them take over my security system with a 4g lte communicator. I liked their monthly price and the fact that you can use your phone to arm/disarm your security system with an app with push notifications. I also liked the fact that it was a DIY'ers' dream come true bc you did not need a technician to be physically be at your house like with traditional security system setups (this saves alot of $ for you). So I did my homework and bought a 4g lte communicator for my security panel and connected it to my alarm panel prior to placing the call to their tech dept to speed things up. I called their tech dept who helped me activate the 4g lte communicator. The tech's name was Brad and he helped me activate my 4g communicator. I never felt rushed during the duration of the call. Brad figured out my wiring connection from the 4g module to my security panel was wrong and helped guide me to correct the wiring. Brad was very patient and thorough and made sure my security system worked with Geoarm before I ended the call. This was my first experience with Geoarm and their staff and they did not disappoint! I will be doing business with them on my other accounts in the near future! Thank you! read more

GeoArm is a great company that caters to the DIY community. If you didn't purchase equipment through them they will still eagerly work with you. Their UL listed monitoring company has the fastest response time out of a half dozen companies that I've been with, typically less than 30 secs. When you trip the alarm by accident head to the phone because by the time you get there it's ringing! Technical assistance from Ralph, even though I didn't purchase the equipment from them, has been outstanding. You have a choice of by the month monitoring which is much less than others, or to save more money with a longer term contract. The first time I went with 3 years, then when it was time to renew I saved another $5/mo and went with 5 years. I just ordered a complete system for a family member and I might save $50 shopping around, but with service like this why bother. GeoArm is not the best for people that would rather pay full service price and have a technician come to their house at any hour of the day. You are getting a wholesale price on the monitoring similar to what a retail alarm company would be charged directly from the central station. If this type of service is for you take your savings and run! read more

I learned of Geoarm security while searching for companies able to takeover existing security systems. I ended service with Frontpoint Security after nine years due to poor service and failed attempts at rectification. Frontpoint was supposed to provide cellular upgrade equipment for a property that never arrived. Frontpoint did not disclose that the house was not monitored for nearly a year, but continued to collect the monthly service fee. Efforts to correct the matter was a failure of epic proportion. The lack of competency from a security company eroded my confidence in their product. All equipment from Frontpoint was paid and I like the system, hence my search for a company capable to takeover monitoring. I discovered Geoarm in my search. After the prior experience, I was skeptical so far the experience has been positive. The technician, Brad, walked me through the takeover process on the telephone. I liked that he was knowledgable and patient, which reflected well on the company. The low cost, customer service, lack of contract, and continued use of my existing system make Geoarm a great company. I am pleased to have discovered it. read more

Haven't received customer service like this since the 1950's!! Our previous monitoring provider increased his monthly price by (and charged my credit card)15% a month without any notice. This was unacceptable! I gave him the 30 day notice he required but he canceled our account the same day I gave notice (he had already charged the credit card). Searched Google for "Alarm Monitoring Service", selected Geoarm and looked here on Yelp, and was very impressed with the reviews. Looked at the Geoarm website and called their phone number. They picked up on the second ring. I talked with Drew and he immediately sent me links to their sign up form. I completed the form and submitted it. In less than 2 minutes got a call from Brad. To make the story short, in less than an hour after I was disconnected from our previous monitoring company I was signed up and covered with Alarm.com monitoring. Brad walked me through all steps to recover codes for my DIY installed system (I installed over 5 years ago). Very pleased with Brad and Drew and Geoarm customer service. I can't say enough good things about the level of service and support I have received from GEOARM. I dropped my monthly monitoring service from $45 to $10 bucks a month with NO CONTRACT. I've received a phone call from the monitoring service every time I"ve accidently tripped the alarm, and once was greeted by the local PD In my driveway when I had my ringer off. So yes their monitoring service works, but that is just the half of it, they have exceptional and friendly customer service. I purchased a communicator from them for my DSC alarm panel spent a good 30 mins on the phone walking through the installation. We are buying a new house and GEOarm.com will be my first click. Regarding some of the negative reviews I've seen here on yelp...It does take a bit of technically ability to work on or program your own alarms system, and no amount of tech support or any monitoring service will be able to make up for a bad install. Visit the FB page, there are a ton of good reviews by real people if you have any doubts, or chat with them on their website... you will be impressed. read more

I would have given 5 stars to GeoArm but towards the end of my system transfer/setup, their Tech, Drew was ready to just throw in the towel. Tried to convince me and GeoArm sales staff I needed to replace my already new communicator to buy one from them that would be "compatible" for programming with the GeoArm system. It was Cole who went the extra mile to get the proper technical help from the manufacturer to prove it was just a programming glitch that helped to correct the system/communication problems I was having in setup. At the time of this review, my security system is working properly. Without notifying the GEO Central Monitoring Station that we were in test mode, more than once, they responded to calling me within one to two minutes of my alarm being activated. In addition, I receive almost instant text messages to my cell phone notifying me of my system's alarm status whenever it's armed/disarmed or activated. I had my alarm monitoring take over call today. Great experience from start to finish. Was a bit worried at the beginning because it sounded too good to be true.. I was even getting a lot more options than my previous company (Brinks Security) for a much cheaper price. Went online to look at packages and was confused at the beginning but used the CHAT option and got answers quickly. Selected my service and was sent an email. Filled out information requested and set up an appointment. Was called by Sal at the selected time even though you are given a two hour window. Sal made the experience great. Very helpful and polite. Walked me thru the process. Asked multiple times if I had any questions about the system or any other information that could be answered on his part. Did some tests and the alarm is up and running at 100%. Read some of the negatives reviews before and my experience was nothing but outstanding. Highly recommend it so far. I previously cancel my non-contract alarm service with another company and decided to try Geoarm Security. They offer everything my previous alarm company offer, but at a cheaper rate. I sign up online and turn in all of the information requested such as my alarm panel information, emergency contact and zone information. Next day, I got a call from Brad Finger who wanted to set me up a day earlier then my appointment date and we got to work. We tested the alarm system to verify that Geoarm received my alarm signal and ran thru a cellular test. I did my own testing as well. The process was simple and quick and in no time I was up and running with my access to alarm.com. I did sent Brad an email asking if he could look into a feature that I was looking for with Alarm.com and he was able to provide me with a quick answer. Brad is very knowledgeable in what he does and from what I am reading on Yelp, it seem a lot of his customer feel the same way. Thanks Brad for your excellent service. read more

DO NOT Consider ever purchasing equipment or any kind of service from this company, GeoArm. Customer service is absolutely horrible, they lead you to believe your current system will work fine if you purchase certain add on features through them. They charge way too high prices for the parts that any person can buy from E-Bay, brand new for a quarter of the price, then they try and screw you over by charging you copious amounts of money for tech support because you didn't buy the software through them, which they never told you would be the case before you bought the product or took out service. I even spoke to a supervisor as I was unhappy with the way I was being treated by their customer service rep, who was the most unprofessional and uneducated person I think I've ever dealt with in my life, and he was ruder then the customer service rep I had been dealing with initially. I was skeptical after reading some of the reviews with 1 star, but saw plenty of positive reviews as well so I wanted to give it a try. While there some minor delays due to COVID-19 (ordering in March 2020) overall I got the components needed and was able to do the install. I could not have done it without the help of Rafael Alvarez from GeoArm. He explained everything, how it works, why it works this way, what to connect. I sent him some photos of my wiring and he guided me through a few changes. It was easy to do and now I have a full featured system with Alarm.com mobile app, was able to keep and reuse all the wiring that was done in the house, the keypads and other pieces. I replaced the control panel and was able to reuse most of the other parts saving money and now have a very modern system. Thanks Rafael Alvarez, couldn't have done this without you. BTW I have no electrical or security system wiring experience (prior to this). read more
