Garage Doors can easily be taken for granted, but come back to bite you at "Murphy's Law" times. Gayle and I are also well aware that with their spring assemblies, garage doors can kill. Hence, a professional repair and a hands off approach by a home owner is important. George & Sons came out the first time during one of those times, resulting in a garage door that worked again, using present equipment. They were not the company (which had gone out of business) on the original sticker, and a Yelp search to find a new vendor was successful. The key thing that bothered Gayle about the previous garage door openers was the inoperability of the unit lights, the chain noise, and the funky way one had to play with the button to open and close the doors, especially the smaller one. So after a few months, I called George and Sons back to install 2 completely new units (using belts) which now work like a champ and with much less noise. The remote internet aspects of these units remain to be discovered, but it is OK to only use the features one needs at the time. And we do like the operating and remote buttons and the lights. Our 2 service techs were great. The job was done efficiently and they taught us what we needed to know to get started and a little beyond. These things aren't cheap, but I thought we received good value for the money. read more

Chris George came out today to service one of our garage doors. We had asked them previously to service two doors and were very satisfied. Chris immediately identified the source of a strange noise that I had not been able to identify (cable slapping) and fixed it, then lubricated and serviced every aspect of the garage door/opener system. Without my asking, he identified that there were not enough lag screws holding the door track on both sides and fixed that, then adjusted the up and down settings of the opener. Chris lubricated everything and then wiped off any excess with paper towels. When he got done, the door was strangely quiet while it did its thing. This was our second time to have them service a garage door. They are totally professional and competent. I will definitely call them again if needed and you should too. read more

A broomstick got jammed in the garage railing as the garage was closing, which then jammed the garage door and would not close. I called shortly after 7am, I believe I spoke with James, who provided excellent customer service over the phone. He scheduled a tech to come out between 2-4pm. Cheyne called when he was on his way and was at my residence at 2:05pm, and out by 2:40pm. Thankfully the garage door was just off track, and it was an easy fix! Needed new garage door for home. It took two more appointments than I expected due to a damaged panel out of the box. Steve the technician was informative and answered all my questions. It did take longer than I expected and had to take time off of a new job, which I wasn't too happy about. Overall, great install. I am very happy with the sunburst window panel I chose. They gave me a remote at no charge but only because I had asked due to feeling screwed out of my time for their lack of time management.
