I am new to the area and wanted to replace my old noisy garage door opener. I scheduled two different companies to come out for an estimate. The first company came in the morning and spotted a couple of clamps on one of the garage door hinges. He then proceeded to tell me that I needed a new door. I asked if it could be repaired and he said no. My second appointment in the afternoon was with Local Garage Doors. He also noticed the clamps and walked over to look closer. The clamps were on a hinge that was really new looking once he removed them. He told me that my garage door was in really good shape but it just needed servicing. He gave me a quote for replacing the opener and doing a restoration on the door. This quote was for a higher end opener and I still came in cheaper than the previous quote. Needless to say that I went with Local Garage Doors. I had the work done two days later and couldn't be happier. My new opener is very quiet and the door works like brand new. I cannot tell you what a great service guy I had. my door was so noisy and made a metal slipping sound. I wanted to give business to local vendors and called this company. They were extremely promt that day and worked around my schedule. The technician tuned up the door. I can hardly hear it open now. He fixed a screwed up cable, did his magic with oiling, made an adjustment, fixed the light in the ceiling that never worked and adjusted the light button on the wall opener to work from motion. Gave me a whole new garage experience for $95 +tax. Thats what I call excellent service. Told him do no leave this house until you put one of your stickers on my door so I can find you. The first to reach out to me with a price and a date. 1 star for arriving on time, coming up with a quick free quote and getting the job done that very same day. 1 star for great customer service, friendly repairman. The price was $469 which I thought was really high. I received an initial quote of $99 for a tune up online. My garage was making a grinding sound. I figured since they were out I would have the bottom weather bumper switched out as well. The gentleman was there for about 2 hours working hard. When I looked online at the price of the weather bumpers they are $28-40. So let's say $100 tune up plus $50 up-sale for the part, another $75 for what ever may have complicated the tune up. We are at $225 subtract that from my final price and we have $244 in labor = over $100/hour. Not having any idea of cost and really needing it done, I just did it. I feel like I should have gotten other quotes after looking at how much parts were. I do appreciate the hard work and professionalism but the price was very steep. They also took over a week to cash my check and I had to ask them to twice. The people running the company seem really nice they have a great descriptive video and scheduling was easy but I believe I could have had this done for less. read more

Our garage door opener was 30 years old so we knew it was ( our house age) probably time for a change when it decided not to open a few times. We had always remembered the name " Local" so that is who we called. We got an appointment for the next day around noon. Tyler showed up right at noon, and surveyed the current garage door and the tracks and spring. He offered two types of new bands and a very nice motor ( two prices). We were impressed with the offer and Tyler who can work well with knowledgeable and unknowledgeable clients. in addition, he was able to do the installation immediately if we wanted to. We did, he installed it and took us through a very good training exercise, and we are extremely happy with our new garage opener ( and automatic light, very quiet band, internet connection to view our garage from anywhere, and ability to open our garage door from outside via the normal car openers as well as via a connection by small pad on the outside of garage)o. I have an older garage door and it needed service. Local Garage doors sent out their man in South Lake Tahoe, California to service my garage door and they did a fantastic job. The technician replaced the rubber gasket at the bottom of the door after ordering some parts and retro fit it to accommodate the new gasket design, replaces several of the wheels on the edge of the door and tightened up all the bolts in the door and made sure it was effortless for the garage door opener motor to lift the door effortlessly. My garage door has been broken for close to a week. Another company came out twice. The first time was working but questionable and stopped working by the next day. They came back, supposedly fixed the door, but quit working within an hour. I contacted Local Garage Doors on Friday, July 9th, 2022, and they scheduled me between 1:00 and 3:00 PM on July 11, 2021. They followed up with a text confirming that date and time. I called because I wanted to speak with the tech coming out to explain what was going on to try to avoid several more trips figuring out what was wrong. The person who answered seemed to have no idea anything was scheduled, and left me on hold a long period of time, then came back and said my appointment was scheduled in error. They can schedule me another day. They have "no one working in Nevada today". I thought this was a local family owned business. They also advertise as open every day of the week. I had already canceled a third visit with the initial company with whom I was working. Now I'm stuck in my garage for who knows how long. I've had a major surgery on my back that makes manually lifting the door out of the question. And Local Garage Doors made virtually no contact with me to let me know the schedule was an error and no one would be here. 12 July 2021. This is an update to above. Local Garage Door just sent me an automated phone call and an email that a tech was on the way. I DID NOT reschedule after they didn't show up or notify me that they would not be here for the appointment on 11 July. No way would I use this place now. read more

Called this company the afternoon of 10/20/2021 and made an appointment to have my garage door springs replaced. They scheduled me for the next day between 10 am and 12 pm. At 12:30 I called and inquired where the tech might be. The dispatcher claimed he wasn't sure but he would call me back after a call to the tech. He calls back and said the tech had an emergency call and could they reschedule me for another time. I said no, you had ample opportunity to call and update me that the tech would be running late.
