I wanted to take the opportunity to share my experience with George Coleman Ford last week or so. Sales Representative Cole Smith provided us with excellent communication and openness. I will be the first to admit, I am very old school with direct honestly on my needs and intentions. My whole goal was to lower my monthly payment, lower my car insurance and lower my personal property tax. I was forthcoming and provided numbers of where I was at. Cole had my vehicle valued and gave me some good numbers which I felt were fair. We initially looked at two vehicles which met our budget and goal. But I saw a bright ruby red car that really caught my eye. Cole said it was a bit out of our price range but he would talk to his manager while we test drove it. When we got back to the dealership, Cole had all the information ready and where we were in the range of the three criteria. Very disappointing experience. The people at George Coleman were rude and disrespectful, and the overall atmosphere felt unprofessional. I also witnessed what appeared to be employees drinking alcohol while on the job, which I found especially concerning. Employees were also disrespectful toward each other, making the workplace seem uncomfortable and poorly managed. I was dealing with Brandon Vaughan and after I gave him my information for approval, he never responded to my text or calls. I had to call the dealership to reach him. I can accept I was not approved. What I cant accept is that I was not even worth the response or a call back to notify me. When I called it immediately went to voicemail. I was not worth the text. Live in Texas, found a vehicle online and started the process to purchase. Bill was my salesman and it didn't take long for this get somewhat sideway. While in negotiations, the dealership lists the unit for less than they were selling it me for stating it was a mistake. During the process some details on the condition were no properly relayed. When you are doing a long distance deal, transparency is king. After bringing these issue up after the truck was delivered, the dealership refused to do one single thing to make it right on their end. The bumper on the truck was dented and starting to rust which is contrary to what Bill told me. Salesmen even stated that they wish they would have sold the truck to someone else... I doubt that's the image that the dealership is striving for but yet this was their stance. Warning to local or out of state buyers. Make sure you get pics, videos and full disclosure. They listed a f150 lightning lariat with an MSRP of 101k, when a lariat priced out on fords website, with every option known to man (more capable, more gadgets,) then the one they listed, and came out to 89k. This is severely misleading and the worst me kind of markup. This is an ongoing trend with ford dealers to prevent reporting to ford about unfair dealer practices. read more

Let me explain how in-depth this customer service goes: We were welcomed by Service Advisor, Micah Cowart and Service Manager, Curt Shockley, both knowledgeable and professional. I explained in detail the situation and the feedback from other mechanics in the area. The typical response from the others for my immediate issue with my vehicle was "We're so sorry, but we are booked two months out" or simply "There's nothing we can do right now; we don't have the parts in stock." But, George Coleman Ford (GCF) didn't do that to me. Curt took me into his office and personally invested in my automotive crisis. So, LONG story short, for approximately the last week, my boyfriend and I have been extensively searching for a dealership in the upstate to help with the TCM failure in my 2015 Ford Fiesta; however, due to Covid-19, there is an immense back order on this specific part required for my transmission. *Side Note: If you're not familiar, this is a common issue within this make/model -- faulty TCM operations and a warranty does EXIST within these certain guidelines: 1. Under 150,000 miles 2. Within 10 years of manufacture Curt was able to maneuver a way for me to reserve a rental car so that I can work, go home for Christmas, and continue living my normal life -- despite the fact that dealerships and car service shops have a shortage on loaner vehicles. Not only did he offer assistance, he called in the rental car HIMSELF while I was in the office with him. (By the way, I will be picking up my car Tuesday (YAY!!!) and the Fiesta will sit at his shop until the parts come in -- which is yet to be determined -- this could be MONTHS). GCF is honoring my warranty, meaning, they are taking the rental car bill and will replace my TCM as soon as the parts arrive, at NO COST TO ME!! This kind of service is generally unheard of. With all that being said, these employees CARE, which is ultimately what so many others lack. but so desperately matters in today's society. This team is ready to help YOU!!! No one in servise, including the manager knew what the alert meant! They told me I must leave the truck with them for a week because they had no openings, in their schedule for a week. Honesty, Integrity, Upstanding business. Theses are the words this dealer uses to describe itself. I called and asked to speak to internet sales, the salesman Chase said he could help. I identified that I live outside the region, what will be the cost, Chase states no change to price listed. I ask about third party finance, what will be the price, Chase states no change to listed price. I apply and approved from Ford credit. The next day, I receive a call that the price will be more than $2000 above price listed. The reason, I live out of the region. I then get a call from the internet sales Doug who states it was all a big mistake. He pursues my interest in the vehicle and states he will "take a loss on the vehicle" and sell it upon agreed price...but only if I remove the one star review given on google and only if I buy today. * STAY AWAY * George Coleman Ford and specifically Joe Wright either lied or intentionally misled me. Both my wife and I are retired and on limited income, most of which goes to medical treatments. (We both have chronic medical problems) I had a fixed amount I could spend/finance on a vehicle that could accommodate her. We negotiated a price which was above my budget but close. I signed the paper (remember, they are professionals at squeezing people). When I got home and the finance papers from Wells-Fargo arrived I found that I had financed about 15% above what I had agreed upon and at almost 1 1/2% above my banks rate. They had added a service contract to the amount financed (about $2500). I cannot afford the extra $80 per month, but that's my problem, they got the money. P.S. while negotiating the price they explained to me the warranty from a "Certified Pre-Owned" vehicle would have raised the price of the car $800 or $1200. That's a whole bunch cheaper than the $2500 plus finance charges I now have to pay. I have requested that they remove the 'paid for extra warranty', which they have not yet done. But they say that would come off the back end of the loan, and I will still be way over budget for years. We are retired and living on social security and $80 a month hurts - a lot. Thanks Joe. To start you need to know that we are in Marietta, GA, 144 miles south of George Coleman Ford. My 27 year old son was driving his 2000 Miata LS, that was his reward for making Eagle Scout, when a teenage girl pulled out right in front of him and totaled the Miata. Sean decided he want to keep driving a Miata and the search began. We encountered used car dealerships that give a bad name to used car dealerships and a definite lack of appropriate replacement cars. So I expanded my web search to 200 miles and up pops this gorgeous 2009 Miata Grand Sport and low and behold the price is actually reasonable. I only say reasonable because as of this writing USAA has yet to pay us for the totaled Miata. So I clicked on the button: This put me in touch with Doug Taylor, the Internet Director who was able to teach me the ins and outs of buying a car in South Carolina to be titled in Georgia. I told him we would be heading his way immediately. He got Randy Looper, the Sales Manager involved and they pulled the car off the web and had the oil changed and everything shined up and waiting for us. They had just gone through a heavy early season snow storm thus the car needed cleaning. Three hours later we pulled into the dealership and there sitting in a prime space was the Miata. We had just started looking at it when Doug walked out and handed us the keys to go for a test drive. It was an interesting test as there were patches of ice on the roads. Returning Randy explained everything and took all of the information for the sale. The 2000 Miata was in my name and under my insurance. Sean had already decided that the new Miata would be in his name and he would get his own insurance. This led us to Gerald Jordan, Finance Manager. Gerald walked Sean through the actual financing process. It was almost like a textbook lesson in how to buy a car. While this was going on they filled the car with gas and had it ready for out departure. After the examples of how not to by a car in Metro Atlanta, the straight forward, no dealer fees was a great relief. I recently got a 2013 Ford Escape for Christmas from my husband. Super excited to say the least. Well, I know it needed to have an oil change and get everything checked out just for my own sake. Well, I made the appointment online for a 9:00am Saturday appt. time. I received a text message shortly after and one this morning for the reminder. Awesome! Well, unfortunately we had an issue with my car this morning over heating and it needed to be checked. My husband called to say that I already had an appointment tomorrow but if we could have it towed in today that would be great. Well the lady was EXTREMELY rude and chippy and said that she had tried to email me regarding my service appointment because they don't do service on Saturday even though I received texts and reminder that I had an appointment and it was available online. And also that they would NOT service my car. I'm sorry...what? She said that she emailed me about not being able to accept my appointment time that I scheduled for my oil change, etc. I never once received any email and if that were the case wouldn't you call the customer to let them know and not email them since many people never check their emails? I will NEVER NEVER NEVER ask for service from this company again. We are new to the area and built into a newer subdivision and you can guarantee that I will let every one of my neighbors know the way that I and my husband was treated during this ordeal. read more

We stopped by here, dealt with Randall Coleman. My GOD what a refreshing difference from the over friendly, aggressive hustle mentality of dealerships like Nissan of Greer. Randall worked all day to get us the best deal possible. He stayed late to help us. The business manager, Gerald Jordan, also stayed late to make sure we completely understood the deal and made sure we understood EVERYTHING about it- from the sale to the warranty to everything else. Randall even filled up the substantial gas tank for us. I forgot what class and integrity was like dealing with the various area car dealerships. What sincerity was. I bought a 2012 F150 the Tuesday before Christmas. The truck is in great shape and comparing similar vehicles in a 100 mile range, the price was extremely competitive, in fact the best I could find. Over Christmas weekend, the battery died. I had to replace it Monday morning. I stopped into the dealership later in the day and told them what had happened. Without hesitation, they covered the entire cost for me. I was surprised as this was a used vehicle and the warranty I purchased doesn't cover batteries. Their customer service is second to no one. Reggie and Brandon made the purchasing experience very pleasant with no pressure and accommodated my wife and me in every way possible. I am so furious with this company, more specifically the salesman Doug and sales manager Randy. I went to look at one of their vehicles that met all my criteria at a reasonable price. I called before coming and spoke with Doug and arrived at about 5PM and they closed at 7PM. He showed me the car and allowed me to inspect it. I found an oil leak in both head gaskets and the front right rotor had excessive wear indicating a braking issue. Both of these could be dealt with, but I asked how we could deal with these issues. Other than those two things, the car was great and we loved it. We expressed this to him and asked if he could have his service department evaluate it. He said sure and and he would give me an update the next morning. Before I left, I spoke with the sales manager Randy and told him how much we liked the car and wanted to see what the service department thought about the repair issues. Well, I did get a call the next day at 1PM, but it wasn't to tell me what the service would be. Instead, they informed me that the car was sold to someone else. I couldn't believe it. I asked him why did they not even try to call me to tell me someone was interested and were about to buy it. Doug told me that I didn't put a deposit down. I said, that you never even mentioned that I needed to put a deposit down and that we were going to settle up the next day. I told him that he knew how interested we were. Then I asked why Randy allowed the sale to happen knowing after I went out of my way to meet him, shake his hand, and express my keen interest in the vehicle? Why did I not get a phone call? The story goes much longer, but the bottom line is that, in less than 5 business hours, the sale person Doug and the sales manager Randy sold the car that I clearly expressed interest in right out from under me without a notification until after it was too late and sold to someone else. This is no way to conduct business and is very unprofessional. It is people like this that make people hate the car buying experience. Thanks for nothing. read more
