I did see some junk but I also saw that someone has taken the junk and madenit into art installations which I enjoyed looking at and trying to interpret. I would suggest getting out of the car and walking around. 2 odd things that occurred while visiting: 1. 3 cats circled the car in front of us and refused to move. The driver had to get out of the car and physically move them. They were not afraid of people. 2. A woman was walking around the project wearing a picture frame around her neck like it wasn't odd... It's something to experience.

If you're not familiar with The Heidelberg Project, read up on it before you visit so you can appreciate it and be knowledgeable on what you are seeing. While we were there, we were lucky enough to meet with the artist and creator, Tyree Guyton. He was so informative, so friendly, and just an all around pleasure to meet and speak with. Keep in mind that The Heidelberg Project is always in progress. Tyree is always inspired and adding to the art. Also, keep in mind that some things you may see online are no longer present. I had seen pictures of the vinyl record house and the teddy bear house and was disappointed to see they were no longer standing when I visited. I heard that they burned down. Either way, they were vacant homes which will only last for so long. The Heidelberg Project is a vital part of the Detroit art scene and is a must see for visitors!

Hubby drove further down Wyandotte St. toward Downtown Windsor and we spotted the graffiti on our left. It was a perfect time to cruise the alleyway because the majority of people were still at home, and most businesses were closed for the day. To get to the beginning of the alley look for the Tessonics building on the corner of Wyandotte St E and Ouellette Ave, drive to the parking lot behind the building; you'll be able to spot graffiti alley from there. You can either drive or walk through, but keep in mind traffic is suppose to travel Northwest from Wyandotte St W to Park St W. Not a destination place but a nice stop to appreciate some cool graffiti art when you're in downtown Windsor.

Both the Z-Lot and the Belt Alley contain a wide range of artwork, from artists around the globe. A lot of it is quite edgy,fun and colorful. This is one of those unusual places I enjoy visiting in cities. The Belt Alley also has an outdoor bar called the Skip. The Z-Garage has artwork on all it's floors and you don't have to park there to see it. The view from the top of this parking lot is awesome. You get an amazing view for free. You can see many city sites from here. It is a must see point for great pictures. On a Sunday evening, this garage is reasonably priced at $10. We were able to park, and walk all the levels to see the murals. The garage is split, and you can cross over between levels 4-10. The view from the top is pretty great, too.

It was completed in 1929 during the city's automotive boom. It is also often referred to as the Cathedral of Finance. It's a breathtaking Art Deco design inside and out. Make sure to take time to appreciate the detail, that makes it so special. The bold colors, the amazing tile work, and vaulted lobby are stunning. It history and beauty makes it so much more than "office building". We lucked out and found street parking but would have paid for a garage. It is absolutely worth stepping inside to look around. Uniroyal was founded 1892 as the United States Rubber Company in Connecticut as part of the merger of nine separate companies which was one of the biggest corporate consolidations at the time. They became a major supplier for General Motors as an OEM manufacturer. In 1985, Uniroyal merged its tire operations with B.F. Goodrich, forming the Uniroyal Goodrich Tire Company and they were later acquired by Michelin in 1990, ending its run as an independent company. And I can't remember ever having a Uniroyal on my many vehicles. The Uniroyal Giant Tire was built for the 1964 New York World's Fair as a Ferris wheel styled structure. This muscular man near the Detroit River is the Spirit of Detroit. It is cast bronze with a green…read morepatina that could be copper but isn't. He's 26 feet tall and was dedicated in 1958. At the time, it was the largest cast bronze statue since the Renaissance. In his left hand, he's holding a gilded sphere radiating rays, symbolizing divinity. In his right hand, a family, representing human relationships. Behind him, the marble wall is a quote from 2 Corinthians 3:17, "Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty."
