We initially contacted George's Appliance Center on February 26, 2024 to schedule a repair for our washing machine that had recently started leaking. The appointment was scheduled for February 29. We were told that someone would contact us before 9 a.m. that day to schedule a 2-hour arrival window. I advised the person to whom I was speaking that our machine was 30-years old, after which she asked for the model number to assure they could still get parts. She advised me that parts were still available At 11:00 a.m. on February 29, I contacted the office to ask when someone was coming, as I had not yet received a call regarding the service window. After a brief hold, I was told that "none of the technicians had picked up our service ticket and that the appointment would need to be rescheduled for another day." The next appointment was scheduled for March 7. When the technician arrived shortly after 2 p.m., I ushered him to the laundry room and started to explain from where the machine was leaking, when during the cycle (spin) that it leaked, and that the leak was not persistent. I pointed to the area inside the machine where we saw was dripping when my husband removed the front panel, when he abruptly cut me off. He announced, "I will call you when I find something" and then glared at me over the top of his glasses until I left the laundry room. When he began to fill the machine with warm water and it started to leak from a secondary location. I stepped back into the laundry room to tell him that was the other infrequent leak I was going to tell him about before he indicated he wanted me to leave the laundry room. I told him that it only leaked when the warm water button was engaged. The technician declared that the machine "was not leaking from beneath the machine now" and that we should simply not use the "hot" water to prevent the secondary site leak (despite the fact that it only leaks when "warm" water is selected). He further told us that "parts are no longer available for our machine." He continued with, "even if there were parts available, he wasn't taking responsibility for working on a 30-year-old machine." He suggested that my husband and I "could continue to use the machine and just mop up water when the machine does leak, or buy a new machine." He concluded by adamantly declaring that "George's doesn't fix 30-year-old washing machines." I told him we weren't advised that George's doesn't fix 30-year-old washers when I made the appointment, and that the individual who scheduled the service, searched to assure parts were available for my older model machine; she assured me they were. He raised his voice and snapped at me declaring, "No one fixes 30-year-old machines!" I then asked him if that was true, why the appointment was made and why he made the service call if George's had no intention of fixing our machine. He continued in a loud volume and barked that the "scheduler was told by him and another individual at the company that no one fixes older machines". I pointed out to him that I was not a part of that conversation at his work place. He then pulled out the work sheet and demanded to know if we were going to pay the $79 service charge by check or credit card. I told him that the company could bill us after we spoke with the owner. He yelled at my husband and me, saying we could put the rest of machine back together ourselves and then threw the screws into the open part of machine from where the front panel was removed and stormed out of the house shortly before 2:30 p.m. It wasn't until after we located the screws and started to reassemble our machine that we realized it was still full of water when we tried to relocate the washer and dryer to their original locations, as the technician had moved them searching for a tool he dropped. I realized at that point that the technician hadn't let the machine spin, so there was no way he could have verified from where it was leaking. I immediately called George's and asked to speak to the owner. I was told the owner was not in, but would call me the next day after he spoke to the technician. As I am writing this review it is well beyond 48 hours since the call, and we still have not heard from the owner. After contacting the office, my husband and I found that parts are still available for our brand and model machine directly from the manufacturer, as well as other providers. The technician's attitude and behavior were rude, disrespectful, demeaning at times, and sometimes hostile. This is someone we do not wish to do business with again, much less have our home. That and the owner's lack of attention to far less than professional behavior on the part of his technician reflects poorly on the business. Contacted them in February 2022 to repair my Viking refrigerator that was having trouble holding temperature in the freezer. It's now May 2023 and the issue has still not been resolved. It's impossible to get updates or communication from anyone at this company. Their M-F business hours are listed as 8:30am - 4:00pm but they purposefully don't answer the phone until 10:30 in the morning. They also shut their phones off after 3:00. They'll schedule service appointments AND provide a two-hour arrival window, and then just never show up. They claimed that ordered parts were "backordered", with no estimated time of arrival. I finally called and demanded to speak with Jason or another manager... and *MAGICALLY* the part that had been on backorder for well over 14 months was now due to arrive in just a few days. Shockingly, the part did not resolve the issue, and I'm exactly where I was when I originally called George's for service in February of last year. In my entire year and a half relationship as a consumer with George's, this morning was the first time I've had the pleasure of speaking with Tom, who introduced himself as a service manager. Over a year and a half of back and forth, hassle, broken promises, missed calls and missed appointments, today was the first day a manager became involved - this is embarrassingly unacceptable. To make matters worse, Tom's response was not apologetic or understanding, but rather a call to inform me that "we don't want this repair any longer", and requested to "get off the line". It's painfully obvious they are not equipped to service high end appliance brands, and will tell you as such. If you want to start the New Year Right, DO NOT get a broken appliance repaired by George's Appliance of Brooksville!! On Sunday, November 25th, my Samsung Oven/Combo was overheating. The pot roast should have taken 2 hrs to cook and instead the entire meal was burnt up in 45 mins! George's sent Jason out the next day and he diagnosed the problem to be the oven temperature sensor. He said the part would be in by 1pm the next day and he would come out to install it so we could cook our Thanksgiving turkey. Did anyone ever call us or come out..NO!! Finally we heard from Tiffany at George's who advised us Jason would install the new part on Tuesday, Dec 2nd. Jason installed the part and apologized that Tiffany had not called us the day before Thanksgiving to say he would not be out. He said she was always good at running the office until she got this new boyfriend whom she spent most of the workday on her phone texting him!! Jason said he tested the new part and that the oven was fixed. WRONG!!..because on 12/5 my oven in 12 minutes turned our pizza black!! I called Tiffany back the following morning..she put me on hold and came back to say that Jason would have to order the other oven sensor and she would call me when it came in. When the following week I had not heard from her, I called and asked her what was going on? I asked her whether she had called the vendor to follow up to see if the part was in stock..had they shipped it and if so, what was the tracking number. Tiffany yelled "I TOLD YOU I WOULD CALL YOU WHEN THE PART CAME IN" and slammed the phone down on me. My husband, on his phone, called her back, got 2 sentences out of his mouth and she slammed the phone down on him too!! The good news is that I now have a working oven thanks to Combs Appliance who, after hearing my horror story, went above and beyond to get me a working oven. The problem was never the temperature sensor but rather the Control Board. A misdiagnosis by George's Appliance together with having to deal with Miss Tiffany, a rude and drop the ball employee, is why I have warned you to stay away from George's Appliance!! read more

This company over charges for labor and parts. I received a bill stating 1 part and labor for $290. When I questioned the owner...George he stated that 3 parts were used. I knew that. I asked for the breakdown of parts and labor. He sent a breakdown of each part costing $1, labor to replace parts $3 and knowing what to do @ $284. I priced all the parts (empty bags left behind) @ $101 at the most. Maybe they saw the big house or a woman and decided to charge me more and couldn't prove why he charged so much. I have been using George's for 20 years and never had a bad experience. Ranges and fridges and overhead range vents. I had to use another company one time for my Thermador range , George was not doing repairs for awhile if I remember correctly, and it was not a positive repair. I would like to have left a five star review but I cannot do that and let me explain why. They did a great job and fixed my refrigerator leak. The guy that came the first time and immediately knew what was wrong and ordered the part and was very courteous to me. A week and a half later the park came in and the second gentleman came to replace the part that had failed. He was having a little bit of a hard time because water was leaking out. What I am about to say is the only negative in my service. With all the water leaking he ran and grabbed a towel that I use when I go swimming and came in and sopped up the water with that towel. I was thinking to myself wow he has the same color pink towel that I use. It wasn't until after he left I realized it was my towel. There was a lot of mold and water so I just disposed of the towel. A couple of days later I was walking across the kitchen floor and stepped on something and it was a screw from the refrigerator. I take Coumadin and plavix because of my heart attacks. I bled like a b**** and got some Band-Aids and paper towels and cleaned up the scene with all the blood. This is where we had insult to injury. Another couple days the exact same thing happened and I bled and then another couple days it happened one last time. I saved the screws. so if you hire this company please know they will do a great job. just be careful about your towels and screws on the floor especially if you are on blood thinners like myself. Would I call them again? Of course I would I would just make sure to hide my towels and do a sweep for errant crews on the floor. read more

Just got microwave fixed. The cost was $91.00+$5.92 tax =$96.92 to replace a fuse. A $69 Service charge-$20 for labor-$2 for a fuse. I called them to let them know that this was OUTRAGEOUS!!! Could not find out how much they charge per hour for labor. When you call to make appointment you are questioned about the problem; make and model and where it was purchased. Service came and knew exactly where to look and install fuse. Never asked me any questions. Was done in 20-25 minutes, tops!! They are recommended by Home Depot. Should of asked if they belong to the Union because they charge Union prices! Try and find a different appliance company!! I called for help with our dishwasher. The technician came at the agreed upon time and listened to our problem. He said a particular part might be needed and he gave us a firm quote for the part including installation. However, he recommended we make some changes in the way we use the dishwasher and see if that would fix the problem. He also gave us useful information for the future when we need to buy appliances. The service charge was very reasonable. Just as he predicted, when we changed detergents and some other minor changes, the problems went away. We did not need the part. I just had Tony out here from Georges Appliances. I knew there was a $69 service fee to come in and diagnose the problem. He was here 20 minutes said there was a bad connection maybe corrosion on top of the $69 I got charged another $60 to change a nut. I got charged $129 for 20 minutes. I think they're ripoff I'll never use them again he also stated they may have been the ones who installed it less than 2 years ago. Went there a couple of weeks ago to purchase a new glass-top stove burner. They couldn't find the exact replacement (no longer made) but found a substitute. When I got it home, the burner terminals did not line up with the size of the clips on the wires as they were attached to the old burner. I went back to George's and (I think it was George) took the time to research and explain the wiring was a little different. He told me which wire to attach to which terminal. I got back home, followed his directions, and it works perfectly. I appreciated that they just didn't sell me the part, but helped guide me through the installation. read more

These guys came out to fix a leaking washing machine... Told me they needed to order a part and we had to pay up front which we did... Don't get a call for a few days whether or not the part has come in. When we finally do set the appointment they don't show up until after 7 o'clock at night spent an hour and a 1/2 banginng on my washing machine only to tell me it can't be fixed but he is the owner's son and he works with a used appliance person. He goes on to tell me that they will refund me a portion of the money because the repair could not be completed... And that he will get in touch with them about a replacement washer.. RUDE, NASTY, LAZY customer service reps in their office. Tech came to my home for a warranty issue, there was a factory defect. He said part was in stock, he'd order it and they'd call to set up an appointment. I waited a month, and no call. I was patient as I know Covid has been making things a little difficult. However a month seemed long for a part to arrive that was in stock. I call up and they tell me "Well we show here we called you 4 times (she read me the dates) and you didn't respond, so we sent your parts back. Now, I know I wouldn't miss 4 calls and not check voicemail for four messages, as they insist they leave messages. I might miss a call from an unknown number, sure, but I certainly wouldn't four calls, and especially wouldn't miss four voicemails. I asked what number did you call...she reads back to wrong phone #. Boom there's the problem...do they fix it? No, instead they tell me I'll need to call back to Whirlpool and refile my claim. I said you can't just order me the part again, since you messed up? "how do you know we messed up?" I don't know who messed up, but I know me the customer, who has been without a washer for over a month did not. I asked her to check what number was written on my original work order, and she said "I'm not going to look through a month of tickets, you'll just have to call someone else" Obviously they DO NOT care about customer service, they DO NOT care about making right a mistake, they DO NOT care in general....pretty pathetic. I'm am a huge supported of small business, as you can see by my other reviews. I NEVER leave negative reviews unless a company goes out of their way to earn it (which is EXTREMELY RARE). Mistakes happen, and I'd never leave a review if a mistake was simply made. A normal company would apologized for the mistake and fix it, or at the very least attempt to fix it, putting forth just a little effort, and for that I'd still give them a 5 star review. Tech came out, bad attitude, Installed microwave incorrectly. another tech had to come out to fix. I bought another appliance, requested different tech. Company sent same tech that did bad install.
