I was in the Paediatrics Unit in Brampton Civic Hospital. I spent nearly a week there because I had…read moreabdominal pain, blood in stool, and I needed an endoscopy from a gastroenterologist, followed by treatment. Compared to all the other units in the hospital, the paediatrics unit was actually very caring and treated me well. They checked up on me every 15 minutes, took vitals, and did what they needed to do to ensure that I am well and safe. They provided me meals (breakfast, lunch, and supper), with a good quantity of food, and an OK taste. Moreover, all nurses were very thoughtful, kind, and took on immediate action to find the problem. I was even provided my own room, which included a private bathroom, and they even gave me a Nintendo to entertain myself. The reason why I gave my experience a 3-star was the poor cleanliness and some miscommunication with the nurses. First, with the cleanliness issue, the janitors did not do their job properly. For 2 days straight, they did not sweep, mop, or clean my room. We had to confront them for them to actually clean our room. Then, another 2 days went by, and our room still wasn't clean. Moreover, with the miscommunication part, I found that we had to constantly page the nurses and remind them to give my treatment/medication. That being said, once they did give my medication as early as 6am, they didn't even tell us when they gave it. I felt as communication could have been worked on, as well as the cleanliness of our room. Overall, the experience in the Peds unit as Brampton Civic was well. I've heard negative things at other units, but the nurses in this unit treated me with care, love, and kindness.

Our experiences with children who needed emergency care were below even whatever minimal standard qualifies as horrible. Unless it is literally a life-or-death moment now we leave Brampton and go to a real hospital. Sick Kids was once a go-to for children but it hs become so overcrowded that wait times are stupidly long. Amazingly, even though they are under same management, the Urgent Care facility is superior to the main hospital. That said, Brampton's butcher shop is not even in a runner-up queue when compared to other hospitals in GTA. , Today's very sad reality is, If your child needs urgent care, it is not a choice: you MUST leave Brampton and go to a real hospital.

My experience with them has been their endoscopy department for the past several years. This was my first visit during the pandemic and I must say the service and the efficiency and time management all were 10/10. My appointment was for 10:15 am and I was called in sharp at 10:15 am. The staff was friendly and super attentive. Katherine did all my paperwork and the initial assessment she was friendly and quick. Charlaine was my post procedure nurse. She was so so caring and attentive. Kept checking on my every 5 mins. She figured I was a bit cold and went in and got me warm blankets twice. Of course not the forget my doctor and his team was super efficient. The place was following full covid protocols and the recovery room which is also the initial assessment room was nicely spaced out. In the main lobby they have couches, chairs and tables with spacing and there is a Tim Hortons and Ginos pizza in case you want to eat after the procedure which makes you starve for about 24 hours. Thank you once again.

The dr giving me the results had an arrangement smirk after noticing me in pain and using a wheelchair. He said there was nothing wrong at all, like I was faking. I asked him if that was mine, I said the MRI i had a yr ago showed damage in the upperspine and shoulders. It showed a broked disc in the middle of my back that has never been treated plus damage in my lower spinal area. His smirk disappeared fast, while not double checking anything and that's how it was left. He clearly didnt care about the situation. That's my experience with Credit Valley Hospital. I hope this disgusts you like it did to me.

I came in with a severe throat infection that made it impossible to talk and difficult to breathe. I even wrote everything down ahead of time to make communication easier for the staff. Before I left, I made sure to get the nurse's name because of the lack of compassion she had shown. Sharron Thomas refused to read what I wrote, rolled her eyes, mocked my words back at me, and gossiped with other staff about how "inconvenient" I was for not being able to speak. That attitude carried over to the next nurse who handled me roughly. I've never had an issue with blood work before, but this time my arm went numb, ached badly, and is still bruised. While I was sobbing and visibly struggling to breathe, she treated it like a joke -- repeatedly asking, "does it hurt?" while ignoring the most obvious signals that I was distressed and not breathing properly (me holding my hand to my throat, trying to make noise, pointing to my notepad and pen, wheezing, folding over, crying harder). Instead of stopping, she continued on as if nothing was wrong. I did try emailing Patient Relations first to find some kind of resolution. They called me, acknowledged that I couldn't speak, and yet still asked me for a voiced response... I ended up leaving the hospital in worse condition than I arrived, all because I was too scared to stay. This was one of the most dehumanizing and frightening experiences I've ever had in a hospital. If you need urgent care, I STRONGLY suggest going somewhere else-- no one deserves to be treated like that in such a vulnerable state.

It was beyond anything I had expected. Without delay I was taken into an Acute Care room and helped to change into a gown and wait for a doctor which didn't take too long at all. The doctor immediately sent me for a CT scan for confirmation, after which they connected me to intravenous. A super nice surgeon, Dr. Sadeghi Pejman came to see me as well as a wonderful medical doctor named Dr. Mohammad Shaltaf. They asked the staff to insert an NG tube to pump my stomach but after several tries they were unsuccessful so they decided to give me pain medication through the IV and admit me. By 11:45 pm I was in a room on the 7th floor surgical ward. The next morning Dr. Sadeghi convinced me to let him try to insert the NG tube which he successfully did without much of a problem. He was amazing. The entire nursing staff were wonderful throughout my four days stay and always so pleasant and caring. The organization and teamwork on this floor amazed me. I'd like to give special shoutouts to Marijana, Krista, Dominika, Angela, and Dr. Andrea Lack. Everyone went above and beyond throughout my stay including my discharge on Wednesday, July 22nd. My heartfelt thanks goes to all involved.

My previous experiences with this hospital were not very good at all, quite the opposite and in the negative. This experience was much better, was able to hop around and find a wheelchair no problem. The staff were super friendly and worked with a sense of urgency, when it all was said and done, the visit took about 3 hours, the only thing that I have negative to say was that the doctor at the time read my xray wrong and I got a phone call the next day telling me very bad news. The hospital was very clean and bright. Lots of parking on site Transit options are the 123 and 80 buses, and the 15 with a bit of a walk from the mall.

An urgent care centre (UCC) provides care for non emergency injuries and personal health issues. Sprains, cuts, rashes, broken fingers etc for example, as well as blocked catheters, urinary retention and post surgical complications if needed. Emergency care is provided at another site, as is inpatient care. This site provides investigative and pre operative work up, as well as rehabilitation on an outpatient basis. An army of knowledgeable volunteers and clerical staff ensure you are seen in good time. The UCC practices triage, so less urgent cases may wait a long time for treatment. These cases could probably get seen at a walk in clinic or at their own doctors. Properly utilized this can be a one stop shop. Before I retired as an RN I referred patients here appropriately and they received good care. My wife had her follow up care here after her knee replacement, and I have cardiac investigations done here. The one down side? The cost of parking, although options are available to reduce the cost for frequent attenders.
