I was a little scared because root canals have such a bad rep, but thankfully I was referred by my dentist to Dr. Gamson. I was seen promptly when I arrived and felt more relaxed in just a few minutes. Dr. Gamson is gifted - finding common interests to distract patients in a charming manner - and at the same time explaining what he is doing and what to expect. Also, it's clear he's a top notch expert when it comes to root canals. I had no pain during the procedure - just a bit of sting with the shots. The root canal immediately addressed the radiating pain. I was so relieved that an experience I expected to be horrible was not - and I enjoyed Dr. Gamson's charming chatter, which distracted me from my fears. The office staff was efficient and helped me understand the insurance coverage situation. Also, the office and treatment rooms have unique art displayed that I enjoyed learning about. Anyway, I'm going back soon as I suspect another tooth needs treatment...it's nice that I know I have no reason to worry.

Dr. Yelamanchi looked at me for 1 min, said "yes, you need a root canal, but unfortunately I don't have the time to do it now so you'll need to schedule another appointment." What a joke. That was the whole point of the appointment - to get the root canal. Does he not realize that patients have jobs and can't just take days off work for no reason? Plus - there wasn't a single patient in the office other than me - probably because of treating patients like this. I'll take by $2000 elsewhere...

Consulting doctor recommended nitrous oxide sedation for my anxiety, which the other doctor then tried to talk me out of as he is inexperienced working with patients under sedation. The office staff did not explain the costs fully and told me that part of the cost of the procedure would be "written off" which was not reflected on my statement and I am waiting to find out if this is true or if I will be billed for this portion. This office also does not e-file prescriptions.

After he retired I recommended my brother to go see Dr. Jafari ... and he did. Fast forward and I needed a second root canal. So I asked my brother how Dr. Jafari was and the review was glowing, which means a lot considering that my brother may be the worlds biggest chicken. He said, "You're an idiot if you don't go see Dr. Jafari." So I did. And my brother was right. My tooth was a borderline call whether or not to do the root canal. Dr. Jafari went out of his way - patiently - to educate me on my options, risks, benefits, costs, etc. I made the call to go forward with the root canal with the knowledge that I made an educated decision, which, once Dr. Jafari got deep into the procedure, ended up being the right decision too. And, with all that said ... and all the hype and scary stories you hear about root canals, it ended up being about as painless of a procedure as possible. I'm not going to run out and do it again, I hope, but, if I had to, there is no question I would go back to Dr. Jafari without hesitation. I went in really anxious because of past dental trauma and also in pain with an infection, and I was overthinking everything, but they were all super patient with me the whole time. Dr. Jafari kept explaining what he was doing and made sure I was okay before moving forward, which helped a lot more than I expected. Christina and the rest of the team were really kind and gentle and made the whole experience feel way less scary. Overall, I'm really grateful for how they treated me. He could have corrected that mistake simply by sending me a check, as other docs have done when the insurer made this mistake. He was able to repair the teeth and infected gum areas for two teeth but surgery was required to remove the infected tissue near the root of anothe tooth. D. The admin staff was so nice; Liz and Iris treated me with respect and made me feel right at ease. My consultation was done by Dr. Luke Cantamessa. He was so thorough and listened to me stating my issues. I needed the procedure to be done right away. Luckily, Dr. Kim Menhenick had an early opening. I took it and I'm so happy that I did. She was so professional and nice and made me feel so comfortable. In fact, I didn't feel anything, no pain. She talked me through the entire procedure which helped my anxiety. They used a CBCT scan to perfectly identify where and what the problem was. Then they used this amazing machine called Gentle Wave which cleans out the inside of the tooth. Not many practices have such a machine. The assistant, Sherry, was also very professional. She handled those instruments with such ease! When the procedure was over, Dr. Menhenick went over what to expect. She also said that if I had any questions to contact the office. On my way out I grabbed a granola bar and a juice box, complimentary of course! My whole experience was top rated. No one wishes for a root canal. However, if you need one this is the practice where to do it. They have three offices; DC, Bethesda, and Rockville. The other doctors on staff seem amazing as well. Top quality all around. They billed me under another dentist Dr. Weber, who was retired, which is illegal. Under my insurance they charged me over $500 more for the tooth. We contacted this office several times and they never called back. It is been 5 months and no progress. The insurance suggested us to report this office as consumer fraud matter. After reporting their FRAUD to attorney general, we finally reached the office to ask about the status, they hung up twice. The lady from billing department was absolutely nasty, so rude!!! I called back and wanted to talk to the manager. Jessica, the receptionist pretended being a manager and when I caught her in her own lies and asked her to introduce herself she refused and hung up the phone again. That was absolutely unacceptable! I called back again and asked to talk to the owner so they just started to hang up instantly. These people are fraud and thieves. The office of attorney general was notified and right now this dentist office is under investigation. Fraud department was also notified of their scammy ways to charge clients. They always bill under Dr. Weber despite who your dentist is and if you even have insurance they charge you like you are out of network. I can't believe how many people they overcharged. BE AWARE!!!

I told her I didn't mind but asked that she check with my son first. When he came out a few minutes later, I asked if he got the fluoride. He said he did because the assistant told him, "Your father gave the green light for you to have it." That's not what I said, and it felt dishonest. I understand they may encourage fluoride treatments, and that's fine--but being misleading is not the right way to run a business or maintain trust with customers.
